I am a mail carrier and I recently purchased these to wear while working. They really work well, I can use them on low and they keep my hands plenty warm.( keep in mind I am walking while wearing them so I am generating some heat, I do n't know how well they would work if you were sitting) Since these are thicker, sorting the mail takes a bit to get used to but it's worth it. The battery does not last all day so I did purchase the extra battery pack. Only cons are that the sizing was not right for me. My hand measures 7. 5 '' so I ordered the large but they are too big. I ended up getting them in medium and they are much better. Also, the button to turn them on and change the temp is easy to use but if you need to shut them off, you have to unplug the battery to get them to turn back on again. It's not convenient having to take the gloves off but it is minor since they actually keep my hands warm!

Do n't get me wrong- they do last a long time, but eventually I will abuse them and a fingertip or 2 will wear out. Then they become work gloves, and a new pair rotates in for the winter backcountry trips. My hands freeze. And if it's a warm uptrack day, I just put the gloves over the pole handles for a comfy, warm, low- profile grip until I need them again. Do n't worry about the zippers- no issues whatsoever with them, and you will forget they 're there. Actually keeps the wrists lower profile than with velcro. Use the little clasp feature to keep them mated when not in use. Leather palms are durable and grippy. The perfect softshell, all- around useful glove!
