I bought a youth small for my 52 '' and 65lb 7 year old. It fits her well with some room to grow. My daughter is fairly new to goalkeeping. This is the 3rd pair of these tights that I have purchased to help me during goalkeeper training. I play soccer for a D2 college, so we train on both turf and grass. The pads on the hips do help with hitting the ground but are low profile so I do n't feel them when taking part in team training or small sided games
