[ I bought this pair for a backup to a pair I currently use on all my outings in the backcountry where I live. In this part of the country, it can get extreme and in the winter time, we use snowshoes most of the time because of the steep, rugged, and forested area. Flexibility for mobility is necessary for comfortable traveling conditions. The better I feel the farther I can go.

Dee123
[ So I have a supremely difficult time finding pants of any kind. I 'm short( 5'3 '') and pear- shaped; wide hips and a big butt. When I bump into counters or chairs, I surprise myself. If you 're like me, it's a particular kind of misery. And if you 're like me, when you try on a pair of pants that fit you, and do n't slide down giving you saggy crotch, you want every color and maybe back ups. For me, this is that pair of snow pants. These feel great, look great, and I 'm so glad I got them. They 're very thin, so definitely for the warmer days. The Columbia's recommended size for me was M short, but short was unavailable. I 've also been duped by the auto- size recommendations, so I bought these in both M regular and L regular. The M's were tight on my butt, but the L's were comically large. Like there was no- point- in- zipping- them- huge. I 'm keeping the mediums, and will continue to dream of dropping a pound. They are a bit tight in the upper leg joint area when I sit or lift my leg up, but it's not that big of a deal. I 'm not rock- climbing or doing yoga in these things. I LOVE the adjustable waist, omg, what brilliance. That may sell these alone! The length is a bit long for me, but with boots on, I do n't think that will matter too much. I was surprised that the elastic around the ankles was so loose, but maybe that's how they 're supposed to be to fit around boots... just seemed too loose. Overall, great pants.

[ Employee of mountainhardwear] Outstanding quality for the price. These bibs performed perfectly during a backcountry snowmobile trip in Alaska. I stayed dry and warm all day despite the fact it's was in the single digits and lightly snowing all day. Great range of motion across the knee area and crotch, which is nice considering I 'm 6ft- 4in tall.

These are the best non Gore- Tex pants ive ever had, which is a lot. Im 6' 1 '' and the L fits well, just a little baggy, but not dragging or interfering with my bindings. Really enjoyed this outer shell jacket for snowboarding in Utah. I used a different jacket underneath for insulation and warmth, worked well without it being uncomfortable. I ’ m 6 ’ 2 ” and the length and size fit just right, the sleeves aren ’ t short or pulled up when raising my arms. The neatest thing about this, and if you have the Firefall pants/bib, is that there ’s a hook inside the jacket near your tailbone. That hook attaches to a loop that ’s affixed to the pants/bib so that the jacket doesn ’ t rise up if you should fall and down the slope while skiing/snowboarding.

[ These snow pants were amazing! I 'm so glad I purchased these for a recent Yellowstone trip where the low temps were in the single digits. These negated any possible wind chill factor and made the trip in the cold weather just fantastic! Wish I would have purchased these sooner! I 'm a long time snow professional. I bought these after an extensive search for bibs that are goretex, flexible upper, hinge seat to answer the call of nature- in nature, smart low bulk design. These fit the bill better than any AND they come in short, regular and tall inseam. I 'm in love.
5
Junebug
After being pleased with my MH shell, I decided to try these bibs and so glad I did. So far they 've been worn skiing and snowmobiling in various conditions, from 28 degrees and snowing 2 '' an hour, pouring rain, and cold dry single digit weather. The waterproofing is superior, and blocks the wind well enough. The fabric is comfortable and does n't feel constricting. I 'm 5'2 '', about 130 lbs, with pretty beefy legs and butt. The medium short is definitely roomy, which is what I wanted to allow for layering and freedom of movement. I LOVE that there are options for length. This should be standard in the industry! The leg pockets fit a phone perfectly and have stayed waterproof. The chest pockets are more for sunglasses, chapstick etc, and not a phone, but you should n't have your phone right next to your beacon anyways. The zipper works well enough for peeing. It's a pretty easy process. Overall, this bib is just a great no- nonsense product that does exactly what you need it to do: Keep you dry and comfortable.
5
Paloma
These bibs are amazing. You may think you would lose style/fit/quality with bibs, but you will be very pleasantly surprised and eager to hit the slopes and apres activities in your new bibs. There is waist/hip cinching system that you will love! They are extremely comfortable on, will not inhibit any moves and will add value to your day!! I 'm 5'6 '', 127 lbs and have them in small/ short. The length is perfect, but if you are over 5'6 '' and have long legs, go with the regular length.

Finding pants in any outdoor brand is a challenge because sizing is still skewed towards more petite women. I am 5'6, 140 lb, hourglass shaped with a 32D bust, 27 '' waist and 39 '' hips and athletically built thighs. I ordered a medium tall and the 34 '' inseam is actually perfect and just hits the floor without shoes on. Pros: Built- in cinch belt around waist- this is a genius add! High front pocket allows to sit comfortably over the chest while keeping the girls secured and the straps flat over the traps Overall really comfortable pant Cons: Drop seat zipper is only on* one* side. It does not have the dual zippers I was expecting. This feature was why I ultimately went with Mountain Hardwear and I think an added zipper would make this pant 5 stars. Needs more room in the thigh/outer hip area to accommodate for layering and different body types No cinch or snap around the inner boot liner

I did n't want to write a review until I tried them on they mountain, but after putting them to the test I could n't be happier. [ Purchase these pairs of pants for my son to snowboard. Got the red color with the black kneepads, looks very cool. He loves the style and fit. I love the fact that it can be extended so that he can wear for another season next year.

[ I bought these in gray for my son who is a slim 5'5 '', 105 lbs. and the L fits perfect. However, if he were any taller, they would be a tad too short. They are great Burton quality and look really nice.

These are really nice, thick, snug ski pants, but if you carry your weight in your hips and thighs, order up a size. I got them on, but was afraid I would break the zipper if I tried to force it. I know they are supposed to be snug, but I had to return my normal pant size and go up one. Cant wait for the bigger pair.

When selecting pants for snowshoeing, look for features such as insulation for warmth, waterproof or water-resistant materials to keep you dry, and breathability to prevent overheating. Additionally, consider pants with reinforced knees and seat for durability, as well as adjustable waistbands and cuffs for a better fit. Pockets can also be useful for storing small essentials while on the trail.
Insulated pants are highly recommended for snowshoeing, especially in colder conditions, as they provide essential warmth and comfort during outdoor activities. However, the level of insulation needed can vary based on personal preference and the intensity of your snowshoeing. If you tend to generate a lot of heat while moving, you might opt for lighter insulation or layered clothing instead.
The best materials for snowshoeing pants typically include synthetic fabrics that offer water resistance and breathability, such as nylon or polyester. Look for pants with a waterproof membrane to keep moisture out while allowing sweat to escape. Additionally, consider pants with thermal linings or fleece for added warmth during cold weather activities.
For optimal performance in snowshoeing, pants should fit comfortably without being too tight or restrictive. A slightly looser fit allows for better mobility and layering underneath, while adjustable features like waistbands and cuffs can help secure the fit. It's also important to ensure that the pants are long enough to cover your boots and prevent snow from entering.
While you can wear regular pants for snowshoeing, they may not provide the necessary warmth, water resistance, or durability needed for the activity. Regular pants may become wet and cold, leading to discomfort. It's advisable to choose pants specifically designed for snow sports to enhance your experience and keep you comfortable during your adventure.
