Stylish snow pants ... Fantastic snow pants for sunny days ... When I bump into counters or chairs, I surprise myself. ... They 're very thin, so definitely for the warmer

[ So I have a supremely difficult time finding pants of any kind. I 'm short( 5'3 '') and pear- shaped; wide hips and a big butt. When I bump into counters or chairs, I surprise myself. If you 're like me, it's a particular kind of misery. And if you 're like me, when you try on a pair of pants that fit you, and do n't slide down giving you saggy crotch, you want every color and maybe back ups. For me, this is that pair of snow pants. These feel great, look great, and I 'm so glad I got them. They 're very thin, so definitely for the warmer days. The Columbia's recommended size for me was M short, but short was unavailable. I 've also been duped by the auto- size recommendations, so I bought these in both M regular and L regular. The M's were tight on my butt, but the L's were comically large. Like there was no- point- in- zipping- them- huge. I 'm keeping the mediums, and will continue to dream of dropping a pound. They are a bit tight in the upper leg joint area when I sit or lift my leg up, but it's not that big of a deal. I 'm not rock- climbing or doing yoga in these things. I LOVE the adjustable waist, omg, what brilliance. That may sell these alone! The length is a bit long for me, but with boots on, I do n't think that will matter too much. I was surprised that the elastic around the ankles was so loose, but maybe that's how they 're supposed to be to fit around boots... just seemed too loose. Overall, great pants.

I have worn these bibs snowboarding three times now and love them! I do n't have to worry about pulling my pants up or getting snow in my pants while strapping my snowboard on and it's such a relief! They are comfortable and have adjustable straps and are just all around awesome, especially for the very reasonable price! Note: they seem to fit a little on the tighter side of the size( I have a medium) so if you like baggier bibs I would suggest going up a size.

[ Does n't have the baggy bro- brah fit- thankfully. Still has enough room through the bottom leg for big boots and a gusseted crotch. Simple pant but well done, really all you can ask for.

[ I bought this pair for a backup to a pair I currently use on all my outings in the backcountry where I live. In this part of the country, it can get extreme and in the winter time, we use snowshoes most of the time because of the steep, rugged, and forested area. Flexibility for mobility is necessary for comfortable traveling conditions. The better I feel the farther I can go.

I 'm a long time snow professional. I bought these after an extensive search for bibs that are goretex, flexible upper, hinge seat to answer the call of nature- in nature, smart low bulk design. These fit the bill better than any AND they come in short, regular and tall inseam. I 'm in love.

Junebug
After being pleased with my MH shell, I decided to try these bibs and so glad I did. So far they 've been worn skiing and snowmobiling in various conditions, from 28 degrees and snowing 2 '' an hour, pouring rain, and cold dry single digit weather. The waterproofing is superior, and blocks the wind well enough. The fabric is comfortable and does n't feel constricting. I 'm 5'2 '', about 130 lbs, with pretty beefy legs and butt. The medium short is definitely roomy, which is what I wanted to allow for layering and freedom of movement. I LOVE that there are options for length. This should be standard in the industry! The leg pockets fit a phone perfectly and have stayed waterproof. The chest pockets are more for sunglasses, chapstick etc, and not a phone, but you should n't have your phone right next to your beacon anyways. The zipper works well enough for peeing. It's a pretty easy process. Overall, this bib is just a great no- nonsense product that does exactly what you need it to do: Keep you dry and comfortable.

Paloma
These bibs are amazing. You may think you would lose style/fit/quality with bibs, but you will be very pleasantly surprised and eager to hit the slopes and apres activities in your new bibs. There is waist/hip cinching system that you will love! They are extremely comfortable on, will not inhibit any moves and will add value to your day!! I 'm 5'6 '', 127 lbs and have them in small/ short. The length is perfect, but if you are over 5'6 '' and have long legs, go with the regular length.

Finding pants in any outdoor brand is a challenge because sizing is still skewed towards more petite women. I am 5'6, 140 lb, hourglass shaped with a 32D bust, 27 '' waist and 39 '' hips and athletically built thighs. I ordered a medium tall and the 34 '' inseam is actually perfect and just hits the floor without shoes on. Pros: Built- in cinch belt around waist- this is a genius add! High front pocket allows to sit comfortably over the chest while keeping the girls secured and the straps flat over the traps Overall really comfortable pant Cons: Drop seat zipper is only on* one* side. It does not have the dual zippers I was expecting. This feature was why I ultimately went with Mountain Hardwear and I think an added zipper would make this pant 5 stars. Needs more room in the thigh/outer hip area to accommodate for layering and different body types No cinch or snap around the inner boot liner

Amazing quality! 4 pockets, thigh vents, and large adjustability in the waist. I 'm in- between sizes in Stio clothes where I 'm right at the end of the medium range and the beginning of the large. I got a large and can cinch it enough in the waist so it fits, but I still have the ability to have my layers underneath, which I appreciate. 5'4 and 150lbs, no butt or hips but theres plenty of room for if I did have that. Pant length is perfect with the ski boots. And with Raven colorway, the bright salmon zipper pulls match my jacket!:)

I gained some weight so I needed to size up this season. I have an environ jacket but I wasn ’ t a fan of the pants. These seem way softer, have a nice adjustable waist and great pockets. If I size down eventually I would definitely get these again.

When selecting snow pants for winter hiking, consider features such as insulation for warmth, waterproof or water-resistant materials to keep you dry, and breathability to manage moisture from sweat. Look for adjustable waistbands and reinforced knees for comfort and durability during movement. Additionally, pockets for storage and ventilation zippers can enhance functionality, making your hiking experience more enjoyable.
To choose the right size for snow pants, start by measuring your waist and hips, as these are key areas for fit. Consult the sizing chart provided by the manufacturer, which typically includes measurements for waist, inseam, and hip size. Consider the type of layering you plan to wear underneath; if you intend to wear thicker base layers, you may want to size up for comfort. Additionally, check for features like adjustable waistbands or suspenders that can help achieve a better fit.
When selecting snow pants for winter hiking, look for materials that offer both insulation and waterproofing. Fabrics like nylon or polyester are commonly used for their durability and resistance to moisture. Additionally, breathable membranes can help regulate temperature and wick away sweat, ensuring comfort during physical activity. Insulated linings, such as synthetic fill or fleece, can provide warmth without adding excessive bulk.
Insulated snow pants can be beneficial for winter hiking as they provide warmth and comfort in cold conditions. They help retain body heat while allowing for mobility, which is essential during outdoor activities. However, the necessity of insulation depends on factors such as the temperature, duration of the hike, and personal comfort preferences. Many hikers choose insulated options for added protection against the elements.
Bibs and regular snow pants serve different purposes for winter hiking. Bibs typically feature a higher cut that extends over the waist, providing additional coverage and protection against snow and cold. They often come with adjustable straps for a secure fit and can offer more freedom of movement. Regular snow pants, on the other hand, usually have a traditional waistband and may be easier to put on and take off, making them a convenient option for quick changes.
Snow pants play a crucial role in maintaining comfort during winter hiking by providing insulation and protection against cold, wind, and moisture. Many styles are designed with breathable materials that help regulate temperature and wick away sweat, preventing overheating and discomfort. Additionally, features like adjustable waistbands and articulated knees enhance mobility, allowing for a more natural range of motion while hiking. Overall, the right pair of snow pants can significantly enhance your outdoor experience by keeping you warm and comfortable in harsh winter conditions.
When selecting snow pants for winter hiking, consider styles that offer insulation, waterproofing, and breathability. For colder conditions, insulated options provide warmth, while waterproof materials help keep you dry in wet or snowy environments. Bib styles can offer additional coverage and protection against the elements, making them suitable for deep snow. Lightweight, breathable options are ideal for milder conditions or high-intensity hikes, allowing for better moisture management and comfort.
To determine the durability of snow pants for winter hiking, consider the materials used in their construction, such as nylon or polyester, which are often more resistant to wear and tear. Look for features like reinforced seams and abrasion-resistant panels that enhance longevity. Additionally, check for waterproof and breathable coatings, as these can contribute to the overall durability and performance in harsh conditions. Finally, reviews and user feedback can provide insights into how well the pants hold up over time in real-world hiking scenarios.
When selecting snow pants for winter hiking, breathability is an important factor to consider. Breathable materials allow moisture from sweat to escape, helping to regulate body temperature and keep you comfortable during physical activity. Look for features such as ventilation zippers or moisture-wicking linings that enhance airflow. Additionally, consider the overall fit and layering options, as these can also impact breathability and comfort during your hike.
Yes, there are snow pants specifically designed for extreme cold weather hiking. These pants typically feature insulated materials to provide warmth while remaining lightweight and breathable. Many styles also include waterproof or water-resistant fabrics to protect against snow and moisture, along with adjustable features for a comfortable fit. Look for options that offer reinforced areas for durability and additional pockets for convenience during your outdoor adventures.
