Because fjallraven made the smart decision of discontinuing the Greenland jeans in regular sizes and now only come in talls. Reason? They said it would just be easier for them to have tailored in store. Another problem, stores are far and few. I only have 1 store in my entire state. And the tailor usually isn ’ t there. Why discontinue perfection it makes no sense. Anyway I made the long trip of going to the store and buying a pair of longs to have sized, but was really upset as the overall pant size is different on the longs, the leg pocket rests about an inch lower, and the crotch area is a bit more baggy and just felt like I was wearing an adult diaper. Actually one of the worst business decisions I ’ ve ever seen a company do. I ’ m sure these Greenland jeans in regular were one of their top sellers behind the vida pros. They are also just killer pants to wear /bike around town. The fabric is really durable but has enough stretch to accommodate movement( climbing, bouldering in the gym, riding a bike, stretching, etc). The fit is a little bit tight; most people will probably find them to be a nice athletic fit( and fine with the stretch) but if you have thighs like pistons they might be too tight. This is my second pair, the first pair are still doing great except the pocket liners wore out. Hopefully that durability issue has been solved. While minor, it has been annoying.
