I knew i wanted this as a shell for layering, so I gambled and got a large. I ’ m so happy with the fit for a petite person! It ’s pretty boxy as expected, but due to the cropped nature of the jacket, it fits as a regular length jacket should fit me( but without being too long like they usually are) arms on the large fit properly( almost too short even), so I definitely understand the recurring complaint about the sleeve length being short. Can ’ t attest to the rainproof aspect yet, but judging by other reviews, I ’ m confident it will work.
