I bought this glove for my son that loves to play baseball and try to keep up with his older brother. Amazing glove. It is a little tough to break in, but all good gloves are. The fit for a childs hand is great. My son is only 4 and has been using it for a year. It should last him until he is at least 8 years old. This glove is going to be a much better option than some of the cheap fake leather gloves that are out there for beginners. Probably not a great glove for the player that only plays once a week at his t ball game, but a great glove for kids that are serious about playing baseball and need a good glove to get comfortable with.

I was tired of buying a new mid- level glove every year for my son, so splurged and bought him a Rawlings Pro Preferred hoping it would last multiple seasons– a GREAT glove, but way too heavy/stiff for him. Then we checked out the Akadema ADU135 and it might just be THE BEST GLOVE OUT THERE for an elite youth ballplayer. The glove itself is the same high- quality Kip leather that Pro Preferred's are made from, but with the mesh back it's MUCH lighter, and way easier to control/close, without being `` floppy ''. My son could n't be happier with this glove and should last him a couple years easily( he's on the second season of an Akadema Prodigy catcher's mitt). This is my first Akadema glove. I used to have a Rawlings but a hunch told me to buy this glove as soon as I saw it. Now, when I wear my teammates' gloves I feel really uncomfortable, even with an A2000. Very easy break- in, no need for steaming or powding, only play catch for a while and its ready to play. I use this glove for softball outfield and I highly recommend it.

Not many options available for left- hand throw catcher's mitts. This has good size, and is pretty flexible out of the box for a catcher's mitt, though it will need some break- in. Leather and laces look like good quality. My 15 yr. old daughter, who is 5' 8 '' and has long fingers, liked it out of the box. She had liked her old mitt, but we wanted a larger mitt for blocking. She's only done a little throwing and catching, but so far likes it.

12 year old daughter kept jamming her thumb with her old, smaller glove. Did not want to give it up for a larger size with more protection. After latest injury, I ordered this glove. It arrived within 2 days and I broke it in easily almost overnight. She loves the glove and the flexibility. Protects the thumb better but she is still jamming it. Will need to get a thumb guard now to help with more protection. Would have liked to try this first at a store but they are only available on line. I was afraid that the 34 inch model would be too big. If your daughter is a catcher and intends to continue to play, this is a glove that she can grow with. Fit my 12 year old, 5' 4 '', 115 pound daughter very well. Hopefully this will help to judge the sizing for your child.
