I was tired of buying a new mid- level glove every year for my son, so splurged and bought him a Rawlings Pro Preferred hoping it would last multiple seasons– a GREAT glove, but way too heavy/stiff for him. Then we checked out the Akadema ADU135 and it might just be THE BEST GLOVE OUT THERE for an elite youth ballplayer. The glove itself is the same high- quality Kip leather that Pro Preferred's are made from, but with the mesh back it's MUCH lighter, and way easier to control/close, without being `` floppy ''. My son could n't be happier with this glove and should last him a couple years easily( he's on the second season of an Akadema Prodigy catcher's mitt).
