When I walked into Dicks Sporting Goods store I did not know what to get because I just injured my groin playing recreational softball. So I ask one of the customer service reps. what they would recommend. The person was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable about Shock Doctor product. He suggested it that this particular sleeve would give me the support I need. Later on that week I got a chance to use it in my softball game and it made all the difference. I 've tried various cups and shorts for karate, and these are by far the most comfortable. The cup is soft but sturdy, and offers great protection for those unexpected blows( also machine washable). The shorts are fantastic, and feature Shock Doctor's Ultra Cup Retention System, which is by far the best I 've seen for maintaining cup position. There is a flap at the top of the cup pocket for keeping the cup down and straps at the base of the pocket which go under and connect to the back, keeping the pocket pulled back. The cup never strayed, even during squats, kicks, or sprints. If you want consistent, comfortable protection, this cup/short combo will do the trick.
