After I unboxed these I found the quality was very high. The clips that come with this are very heavy duty and high quality. When I went back to Amazon and looked up anything approaching the quality of these dumbbell bars it was more expensive there when I added in two sets of very high quality clips. I got this bar about a month ago. I started using it out of the box as soon as I got it. I had to clean the sleeves because they do n't spin as freely nor as quuietly as they should. I bought a 12mm Hex Wrench so I was ready to clean them. The bolts were tight, but not as tight as bolts I had on the Tricep Bar that I also have. The bolts were a little dirty. I had to brush off some grime from the threads. After greasing the contact points, the sleeves spun freely and quietly. The black finish looks good and it also protects the bar from rust.

I 've not tried the smaller collar over standard bars, but at least it's an option. Personally, I feel the price for this particular item was a bit high. From my research it was comparable to commercial bars of greater thickness and weight capacity. However, this was readily available and in stock from Dick's, so that became the selling point for me. I would recommend the bar to others, but I would suggest to see if it goes on sale or if a coupon becomes available before purchasing at full price.

I ordered this for my Standard Olympic Barbell and it fits pretty snug. It is a little loose but not much. It gets the job done and I would recommend this for anyone who squats with a barbell that needs the extra cushion.

I have been using this bar for 2 months. I use it for 150 to 175 lbs sets and the bar does not deflect at all. What I like best is that the handles are in perfect alignment. so, this gives me great balance to work both sides of my back. Great bar.
