This is my third purchase and installation of a YakGear anchor trolley kit. I loved it on my first two kayaks and had to have it for my new Pelican Catch 100 also purchased from Dick ’s. I often fish areas where winds and/or currents carry me away from a hot spot and force me to quit fishing in order to paddle back to where the fish are. These poles are easily adjustable with a very good range, study yet very light and I feel they put less wear on the pockets than the trekking poles. In any event I prefer having my hands free to carrying my poles in many situations and my dog does too. I have n't used them for my sil- tarp yet but I do n't see why they would n't work just as well.

[ When I first bought these, I 'd intended to use them with a basha shelter. But, the basha does n't do that well of a job keeping the wind out! So, I found a guy named `` Papa Hiker, '' and pitched several of his enclosed tarp shelters! I found a modified version of his Hex Tarp pitch, and those poles fit the bill perfectly! The shelter calls for a 125 cm trekking pole, but it just does n't collapse for easy storage; these poles do! I have no problems crawling into the tarp, and with another tarp on the ground underneath, I 'm dry! Ventilation is my only problem... other than that, these poles are great!
