[ I am pretty impressed with this pack. I have a few very high end hunting packs and they always seem to cut off some hip circulation. With a 3 night off trial campsite this pack was fantastic! I was skeptical but this pack performed very well. I really liked the U- zip access, huge hip pockets, and the side pockets that I can grab a waterbottle from while wearing the pack. A couple of things I did n't like: those huge hip pockets left no room for a bear spray holster, there is no way for the lid to double as a separate pack for little jaunts from camp, and the hip belt was maxed tight on my 34 '' waist in the Med/LG frame choice. I could get the waist belt tight enough but if I stopped eating cookies...

It ’s a bit of a bulky feeling harness but I believe it just adds to the support/cushion for the user and does not impede climbing. Highly rec this harness for beginners unsure of what to buy. We are just introducing our little guy to climbing at the local gym over the winter. He's loving wearing the harness and swinging around in it. He's 18 months old, weighs 24 pounds and is still a little small for the harness at this point, even at it's smallest setting. Due to his height and centre of gravity, when he hangs in the harness he goes horizontal and it would n't be good to let him try to climb and have him flip with a fall. That's no fault of the harness, however, just that he is still small and will have to grow into it a bit. He's having a blast and that's what counts for now!

So far this is a great harness, bigger and better than the Big Gun. Hanging in it for several hours at a time it ’s more comfortable than the previous BD big wall harness. I like that it does not have double stacked gear loops, making gear access easier. The addition of ice clipper slots is a nice addition, and makes convenient storage for awkward items. The modern speed buckle is a mixed bag for my use, but overall a positive change. I use this for bolt replacement work, and think it ’s great! Lots of hanging with lots of tools and faff, and this harness is a step up from other harnesses I ’ ve used.

It is 10- 1/2 inches wide and 13 '' deep and 6 '' from front to back. The outside material seems very durable with the side is the cooling material. I still would put an ice pack in the bottom. [ I put Oniva's OTG Traverse Cooler backpack to the ultimate test by using it while hiking in Zion National Park. I carried 6 water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, plus an ice pack. It was heavy but it got the job done. On the side there is a bungie cord that is suppose to hold stuff but I found that whenever I sat down the backpack it would put out. I also took the backpack to the beach and carried 8 cans and a couple water bottles, all the beverages stayed cool.

How people rack their gear is a very personal thing. That said, if you are going to rack with a shoulder sling this is definitely a great one to choose. It distributes weight evenly around you torso and allows you to easily organize the gear so it is accessible. Thanks BD for a great product.

I needed a new chest harness for Single Rope Technique in vertical caving. I was looking at more traditional chest harnesses for SRT, but when I saw this one from Black Diamond, the additional gear attachments points and ease of adjustability drew my attention. I was skeptical to give it a shot, but decided to try it. I am happy to say this is my new favorite chest harness!! Super comfortable and adjustable. Love the added gear loops for radios, etc. Having a more secure and convenient radio attachment point will hopefully prevent radio# 3 from taking a 125+ plunge down a pit.

I bought this for hiking with my jack russel/rat terrier mix. He has an odd shaped body( long body with short legs) which makes it hard to find harnesses that fit him without rubbing in the armpits. This harness is very adjustable and fits really well. He ca n't get out of it when rolling around which has been an issue with other harnesses we 've tried. It's well made and very durable and really easy to put on/take off with the clip buckles on the top.

The videos on the different harnesses are super helpful. I was really torn about which size to get because I need this to fit over ski gear. I got the M/L and need to cinch it fully down in more lightweight gear, so I think the S/M would have worked fine. As a women, I find that unisex harnesses can sometimes fit fine in the waist but be tight in the legs, so I sized up. That was n't an issue here. For those debating sizes...

I have already used it for some tree climbing using a Petzl Zigzag combined with knee and foot ascenders and it did the job admirably for its price point( i. e. I 'm sure the SRT Harness would be more comfortable for hanging by a rope all day, for limiting hanging this harness was comfortable and secure enough and at less than half the price). [ I really like my Metolius Harness and that basically everything on this harness is a hard point. The waist buckle is an update from their old double back buckles( they are still on the leg loops which make adjustment a little tenuous) which is bomber. Contrary to many waist buckles, this one latches down on the nylon strap when it is tightened inhibiting any accidental openings of the waist strap. I think this is an improvement in speed of putting on the harness over the old double back buckles that you had to feed through each for adjustment. The foam padding is concentrated which could make long hanging belays a little uncomfortable.

[ I have had this for a couple months. Wearing it is comfortable, and the gear loops work well. I really like having two belay loops too. It is uncomfortable to hang in for long periods of time, and because part of the waist band is not stitched to the tightening strap, it can be a little annoying to get on just right. For trad climbing or multipitching without hanging belays, it's great. It just wo n't replace a sport climbing harness.
