I bought this for hiking with my jack russel/rat terrier mix. He has an odd shaped body( long body with short legs) which makes it hard to find harnesses that fit him without rubbing in the armpits. This harness is very adjustable and fits really well. He ca n't get out of it when rolling around which has been an issue with other harnesses we 've tried. It's well made and very durable and really easy to put on/take off with the clip buckles on the top.

Reasons why? 1) It looks super cool 2) It is padded. So, unlike a normal strap harness, it does not dig into my pup's sweet little tummy 3) The front protects my pup's chest from being scraped up from all the sticks and shrubbery he runs through on hikes 4) It fits true to size. My dog is a 18 week golden retriever and he already weighs 49 pounds!( fatty? He prefers big boned)... First of all it had to fit our puppy( which it did) but after that our priorities were: 1) lightweight, 2) easy to put on/off, and 3) versatility( occasion, leash attachments etc.) and this product met all our expectations. [ Bought for a smaller dog and followed the sizing advice. It fits great, is light, and looks very comfortable on our dog. All the important seams looks as strong as they could make them. Real metal ring for the leash snap is also a big plus. I do n't know for sure if it 'll hold up for years without using it for years, but I 'd give it very good odds. A big step up from the cheap one we got from a local store.

It is much lighter weight, so I think it keeps her cooler, and when she jumps in creeks during her walks, it dries off much faster. It still feels like a solid harness, though the front range feels a bit more durable. I would definitely recommend if you 're looking for something lighter!

[ Finally my dog can carry his own stuff. haha! Warning though, this runs big. We are exchanging the large we ordered for a medium for our 70lb Collie/Aussie/Boxer mix. However we put the pack on him and he took to it very well in our yard. The pack itself is lightweight so its only really the stuff you add into it that could make your dog unhappy. We loaded up a water bottle, bag of food, collapsible bowls, extra rope, and a first aid kit... and he was totally fine and eager for our adventure. Waterproof is a bigggg plus because he likes to find rivers to wade in while drinking.
