I have used this harness since my pup was about three months old( he is now 7 months). It is well made and is extremely adjustable to fit him. I usually use it when taking him in the truck so I have some added leverage on him.

I bought this harness because I wanted a low weight, compact harness for mountain guiding and glacier travel. It worked perfectly and was super comfortable to wear while traversing the glacier even with my backpack on. Also, in general it is a really comfortable harness to wear for top rope and gym lead. I have n't used it for sport or trad yet, but I 'll update when I have.
5
I originally got this harness for ice climbing as it has 6 different ice tool clipper spots( on both sides, 12 total) of the waist. This allowed me to put my ice tool clippers exactly where I wanted them versus where they have to be on other harnesses. It is very lightweight with functional gear loops. I recently took it alpine climbing and it felt awesome having it on all day, even through the more scrambly areas of the climb. Would highly recommend especially for women that have a bigger chest or hips and need to put ice tool clippers in specific spots in order to see them. I have a Large which works great with winter layers but I could have also fit a medium. I am 5' 6 '' and 170 lbs.
5
Somehow this harness has less padding and is lighter weight than the Ophir slide or the black diamond momentum harness, but is actually more comfortable when sitting in it for a long time. I 'd highly recommend if you have a bit more money to throw in for a harness that you want to be lightweight and still comfy. Fits true to size.
5
Amazin harness which is surprisingly comfortable and does not consume any space in the backpack. I am using it for trad climbing. I climb with 14 cams, 12 slings, and three sets of nuts/tricams. I also carry cordlette, belay device and bunch of lockers. All these can be comfortably clipped to the harness. The front gear loops are bigger and the gear is easy to unclip/clip. I use the front gear loops for cams and draws. The rear loops I use for nuts, lockers and belay devices. The harness has also a small gear loop at the rear in the middle. I use this for the nut tool and sometimes the radio. The harness feels good on my body and I do n't even feel it while climbing. The only little thing I found is the seem in front without any padding pushing against my bones. I did not experience it with my previous harness ocun Ego. Anyway, it is not too annoying and I might get used to it very soon.

This harness is comfortable for a full day in the alpine. I spent 16+ hours wearing this harness scrambling, alpine trad climbing, rappelling, and doing some sketchy snow crossings. While a bit heavier than some of the Petzl options it ’s 100% worth it for the comfort.

5
[ I ’ ll be honest. I live in NC and I buy Misty Mountain gear by default because they ’ re local. That being said, when it was time to replace my MM Turbo, I really didn ’ t consider another harness. The Turbo is light and comfortable enough for hanging all over a sport project, and has ample gear loops for long trad days. For me, it ’s a great all around harness. I will say, I don ’ t love the new color scheme, but what do I know about fashion anyway. I know this harness is comfy, functional, lightweight, and it ’ ll catch you if you fall.

[ I bought this a couple months ago and so far it ’s the most comfortable harness I ’ ve tried. I upgraded from the Petzl Corax and this is far more comfortable, and the build quality is incredible. [ This fits nicely with a centered tie in point in anything from light weight shorts to extra heavy below zero snow and ice gear. the double buckle is great for centering your tie in points and having additional ice screw racking clip slots helps a ton on long routes, or gives an extra option for hanging tools, or extra gloves. Still comfy in all seasons. Very happy overall.

[ Airhead makes a great quality product. We just got this tow rope and it ’s great. We have jet skis and pull tubes with them. This tow rope works well and is very strong. It whips the tubes around perfectly while maintaining a nice even pull. We have other ropes from them as well and they have lasted for 3 years already with no sign of stopping soon.

[ Once you use this harness you will not want to get a different one. This tow harness centers fantastic while pulling my son on his tube behind our small boat. [ We live in South Florida, so boating is part of life. We 've used this tow harness for just about everything already. It has excellent strength and never shows signs of stress. The 12ft length is just enough to get all the possible uses out of it. We 'll be looking to buy another heavy- duty Airhead tow rope with some extra length next time around. Overall, this is a fantastic tow harness that will be a mainstay on the boat for years to come. A++ product.

This harness has verry a large waist belt and leg loops, they are also reasonably ridged this gives a verry comfortable hanging feel! The belay loops are interesting I like the lack of barracks my only concern is long term durability of these belay loops other than that, every part of this harness feels bomber and durable. I ca n't stress enough how well the large waist belt and leg loops feel 10/10!

So far this is a great harness, bigger and better than the Big Gun. Hanging in it for several hours at a time it ’s more comfortable than the previous BD big wall harness. I like that it does not have double stacked gear loops, making gear access easier. The addition of ice clipper slots is a nice addition, and makes convenient storage for awkward items. The modern speed buckle is a mixed bag for my use, but overall a positive change. I use this for bolt replacement work, and think it ’s great! Lots of hanging with lots of tools and faff, and this harness is a step up from other harnesses I ’ ve used.

Bolting and long routes are both way more comfortable with this harness, it ’s beefy and comfy.

Very nice beginners harness. I recently started top roping and took a class using the rental harness( not sure of brand) and knew I ’ d need something better. I bought the Momentum harness and am thoroughly impressed. The adjustments for the legs are much more comfortable and easy to adjust. Belt buckle is a single strap to tighten with double D- rings so it won ’ t budge while climbing. Fanny adjusters are with a single pull strap from behind. I can hang in this and fall hard without being uncomfortable, pinched or bruised at the end of the session. It ’s a bit of a bulky feeling harness but I believe it just adds to the support/cushion for the user and does not impede climbing. Highly rec this harness for beginners unsure of what to buy. Just make sure to try on the right size as the leg adjusters don ’ t have much adjustment. I ’ m 6 ’ 4 ” waist size 32 and wear a large, fits perfect.

We just purchased a bunch of new gear for our outdoor adventure summer camp, Missoula Outdoor Learning Adventures, including stoppers, cams, rope, ATC's, locking biners, harnesses, etc. As owner of the camp, BD is the clear choice for me when I 'm putting other people's children( and my own!) on the rock. We 've been using BD gear for 20+ years, I 've never been disappointed, and I always feel confident sending groups out to climb. With excellent attention to details of safety and functionality, BD earns a 5 star rating from me.

I bought this harness to be comfortable and have more gear loops then my sport harness has. The gear loops are perfect for leading or following a trad pitch. plenty of room for two full racks as well as anchors/ slings and runners. this harness would be perfect for any level trad climber in my opinion that is looking for a multipitch day of climbing. The legs are even adjustable for wearing shorts on a warm day or some bulkier pants on a cooler day.

[ Bought for a smaller dog and followed the sizing advice. It fits great, is light, and looks very comfortable on our dog. All the important seams looks as strong as they could make them. Real metal ring for the leash snap is also a big plus. I do n't know for sure if it 'll hold up for years without using it for years, but I 'd give it very good odds. A big step up from the cheap one we got from a local store.

[ I bought this to replace a light rock climbing harness I had been using for home maintenance safety( tree and rooftop work). I have already used it for some tree climbing using a Petzl Zigzag combined with knee and foot ascenders and it did the job admirably for its price point( i. e. I 'm sure the SRT Harness would be more comfortable for hanging by a rope all day, for limiting hanging this harness was comfortable and secure enough and at less than half the price). [ This harness is extremely comfortable, and flattering( as far as harnesses go). I like the moveable waist belt that allows the belay loop to always remain centered on your body. Nate Chaz
This is my favorite harness that I ’ ve ever owned. The reason why is because it ’s so light and compact, I never question whether or not I want to have a harness with me. I just toss it in the pack, and it disappears. When I need it, I ’ ve got it. I love how it can disappear under the hipbelt of a pack. Something that frequently irritates me with other harnesses while climbing and skiing. The packbelt, and harness are fighting for the same space and the pack ends up losing and riding up on my torso. When I ’ m not wearing a pack with a big belt, this harness has nice, but minimal gear loops that can hold my crevasse rescue, rappel, and other climbing gear( as long as I keep it to a minimum or rack in trees off of my carabiners.) For anyone who is considering purchasing this harness but is concerned that it may be too specialized, I would suggest that it ’s much more versatile than you might initially think. I ’ ve used the Choucas Light for alpine routes, rappels while skiing, ice climbing, summer scrambles that get a little too technical, self- evacuation from chairlifts while ski patrolling, and even glacier travel( which was probably its original intent).

( read bottom for final verdict) First off, the durability for what I have been doing has been great. I mostly have only done sport climbing and the like. I did some arborist stuff for a neighbor with it when it was all I had, and now it is stained with white pine sap. For the two years I had it, I 've done maybe 8+ trips around the Us and Europe, so maybe something like 300ish cycles of tying in and whipping. With that, there has been almost no visible wear and no indication of it running out of life. I personally went with the one with more gear loops for the versatility and nothing else really. This and the Sender are, in my opinion, the lightest and most flexible harnesses on the market and, for the price, unbeatable. This has been the case for whatever alternatives I could find; anything similar was for some reason more expensive, a significant margin. TLDR: I will buy this again, and it's 100% been worth it. Update: As of August of 2026( purchase May 2024) the bottom tie in point sheath has blown, the stitching was what went. The upper tie in point was totally fine. My theory is that the tighter angle on the bottom has some wrinkles that put more stress on the single line of stitching that holds the sheath on. So when the rope rubbed up on to it, it failed first. Since the design is the same across all their sender light harnesses I would assume the same issue may happen across the lineup. Also I guess if anyone was wondering what the indicator tech was its just a piece of cloth under the protective sheath.

[ Misty Mountain makes some of the best climbing gear around. I love that it ’s made in the U. S. This is my second Misty Mountain Cadillac, and I ’ m not sure I ’ ll ever use a harness from another company. Do yourself a favor, get one!
5
[ A friend of mine had a misty mountain harness and always raved of how great it was. My cheap petzl harness was almost falling apart from the chimneys and crystalline granite I had made it subject to, so I decided to upgrade. The Cadillac is great, definitely comfy enough for all day climbing and makes the hanging belay while my partner flails on that 5. 8 offwidth so much more survivable. I also don ’ t mind the extra weight versus some other harnesses, it still feels sleek and works great for hard cracks in the creek.

[ I have a smaller waist and larger thighs and after about a month of searching for a harness this one was perfect! How people rack their gear is a very personal thing. That said, if you are going to rack with a shoulder sling this is definitely a great one to choose. It distributes weight evenly around you torso and allows you to easily organize the gear so it is accessible. Thanks BD for a great product.

I needed a new chest harness for Single Rope Technique in vertical caving. I was looking at more traditional chest harnesses for SRT, but when I saw this one from Black Diamond, the additional gear attachments points and ease of adjustability drew my attention. I was skeptical to give it a shot, but decided to try it. I am happy to say this is my new favorite chest harness!! Super comfortable and adjustable. Love the added gear loops for radios, etc. Having a more secure and convenient radio attachment point will hopefully prevent radio# 3 from taking a 125+ plunge down a pit.

I wish the hard point was a little larger with also having adjustment buckles that were a little more small

It ’s marketed as alpine harness but with me this harness has seen plenty of gym sessions, multi- pitch sport, single pitch crags. ... Lightweight and packable to bring anywhere while maintaining

[ Very versatile harness. Lightweight and packable to bring anywhere while maintaining comfort. Leg loops can fully open to assist in putting on over skis and crampons in alpine environments. Ive been mainly using in gyms for climbing and belaying.

[ I was looking for another harness after I gave my corax to my wife so she can belay me. Boy am I glad I came across this harness. A ton lighter than my previous harness, very comfy for its weight and surprisingly versatile. It ’s marketed as alpine harness but with me this harness has seen plenty of gym sessions, multi- pitch sport, single pitch crags. Comfortably clipped 12 quick- draws, 4 locking biners a prusik and a PAS. If you ’ re in the market for a lightweight harness look no further.

[ Of the seven harnesses that I have, this is my favorite. Very light but sturdy enough for those unexpected falls. The heat loops are stiff but not to the point where they are in the way or you movements.

I think this is an improvement in speed of putting on the harness over the old double back buckles that you had to feed through each for adjustment. ... [ The double rappel loops are perfect for 2 rope solo top- roping, takes away that over crowded, overloaded single loop

[ The double rappel loops are perfect for 2 rope solo top- roping, takes away that over crowded, overloaded single loop syndrome.... And, its Metolius, how could you go wrong!

[ I really like my Metolius Harness and that basically everything on this harness is a hard point. The waist buckle is an update from their old double back buckles( they are still on the leg loops which make adjustment a little tenuous) which is bomber. Contrary to many waist buckles, this one latches down on the nylon strap when it is tightened inhibiting any accidental openings of the waist strap. I think this is an improvement in speed of putting on the harness over the old double back buckles that you had to feed through each for adjustment. The foam padding is concentrated which could make long hanging belays a little uncomfortable.

[ I have had this for a couple months. Wearing it is comfortable, and the gear loops work well. I really like having two belay loops too. It is uncomfortable to hang in for long periods of time, and because part of the waist band is not stitched to the tightening strap, it can be a little annoying to get on just right. For trad climbing or multipitching without hanging belays, it's great. It just wo n't replace a sport climbing harness.
$89.95
as we know alpine harnesses are not known for being comfortable, I 've been in a few others and this one, in my opinion, is the comfiest, it weighs in at 215

Have used other light weight harnesses especially BD. While they have served great and fine but needed more security for glacial peaks& mountains like Denali and Rainier. The solid loops to hang carabiners gives that peace of mind. Bottomline- lightest and strongest in the market. Petzel Altitude comes right close but I like Mammut colors as they are visible in whiteout or glacial peaks like Denali, Rainier, 8000m,.
5
I bought this originally for rescue in my job as a ski patroller and have found myself bringing it on every ski touring trip where I may need a harness instead of my BD Couloir. While the Mammut does not pack down as small it is more robust and comfortable. The small bit of extra size and weight is negligible in my opinion.

Just used this climbing mt hood, did great. I love that you do n't have to take off skis to put it on.
5
Very Happy with this harness. I used it while ski mountaineering and it was great.
5
Perfect harness for ski mountaineering. Lightweight, reasonably comfortable( would n't want to hang for too long in it), and very easy to get on/off with skis on.

I was pleased that the gear lops and the ice clippers I added are lined up evenly on both sides when the waist is adjusted. ... It's nice and light, very comfy and does more than what I am asking it to do so

[ I wanted my new harness to have a waist and leg loops that could be opened completely so I can put it on when wearing crampons, skis, or do n't feel like standing on one foot while putting it on. I was pleased that the gear lops and the ice clippers I added are lined up evenly on both sides when the waist is adjusted.( I have a 32 inch waist and got the large harness because the leg loop size matched my leg measurements.) It's light and does n't take up much space in my pack.

[ Bought this to use primarily as a gym harness. It's nice and light, very comfy and does more than what I am asking it to do so far. It does seem to run a little small.

She likes climbing off width and this harness is also standing up to all that abrasion unlike harnesses in the past where leg loops etc get worn down to the point they are

[ I love this harness! I previously owned the Misty Mountain Silhouette and after speaking directly to Misty Mountain was guided to the Cadillac for my next harness( I wore out two Silhouettes). This harness fits much more comfortably than the Silhouette and it has extra gear loops. I find the Misty Mountain harnesses to be perfect for multi- pitch climbing, and the Cadillac is my new favorite for long climbing days and hanging belays.

Western Slopers Resole
[ I bought this harness for my partner and she absolutely loves it. Many women's harness have small gear loops or even just one but this has 3 full size gear loops honoring the fact that ladies can lead climb even harder than men. The QA( quick adjustment) is also a great new feature that misty mountain added to the classic Cadillac. Not having to double back the harness closes the loophole and makes it more fool proof. She likes climbing off width and this harness is also standing up to all that abrasion unlike harnesses in the past where leg loops etc get worn down to the point they are useless. BEST HARNESS ON THE MARKET!!!( For men or women)
$74.95
Perfect for the gym since it's a single adjustment and easy to put on and take off. ... Great for gym climbing at a minimum, draw loops are light but stand up

Benkles
[ Picked this bad boy up a few weeks ago( so I ca n't necessarily attest to durability) but just by assessing how it was put together, I expect to be climbing on it for a while. It's quick to adjust, comfortable to wear and the grey/lava color combo is lush.
5
This is a great harness. Perfect for the gym since it's a single adjustment and easy to put on and take off. I think if I was sitting in it for any amount of time, I 'd prefer a 4 slide, but this is preferred for gym climbing. I have a 30 '' waist and the medium just barely fits, but works perfectly. If you have smaller than a 30 '' waist, I would recommend a small.
5
Easy to use, straight forward buckle, comfortable. Great for gym climbing at a minimum, draw loops are light but stand up well. Should be good for sport as well.
5
This harness is perfect for climbing short to medium pitches but once you have been in it for an extended amount of time it can get a little uncomfortable. I wore it while setting a top rope and was in it for over an hour and it was really comfortable for the time 30 mins but after that it started to be uncomfortable. But to about 90% of potential buyers this harness is perfect and lightweight for sport climbing. Also for figment I 'm a 32 waist and I fit snugly in the small.
5
Well suited for both hang dogging projects in the gym, very comfortable. Thin enough to pack away into an alpine bag with plenty of features for outdoor climbing.
$79.95
Very comfortable when belaying, and really nice that I do n't need to tighten the leg straps. ... Now that I ’ ve worn it, I ’ m stoked about the purchase and the leg loops are perfect without the adjustment

[ The second one I 've bought and it fits great!!!!!!!! I would buy again!!!!!!!!! Great for the gym climbing or sport climbing.!!!!!!! Gear loops are a little small if carrying a double rack and and anchors

[ Quality construction and crazy comfortable. I ’ ve climbed and belayed with it at least a dozen times and you can truly forget that you have it on.

[ I bought this as a new climber. I climb indoors so I do n't necessarily have a review of the gear loops, but the waist and leg loops are perfect. They 're comfortable and simple to get in and out of.
$49.95
It holds up well climbing and belaying. ... He said it is very comfortable and he feels safe and secure. ... The gear loops are perfect for trad and sport

[ I bought it a month ago, and I ’ ve used it about 3 times. The harness does it job with no problems. It was a little bit bigger than excepted, but that was more due too poor sizing choice for me. For reference I ’ m 6 3 ’ 170 and got the size large. All in all the harness does everything it needs to do and is comfortable enough.

[ I bought this harness a month ago and I ’ ve used it 6 times a week for 4 weeks. It holds up well climbing and belaying. I love climbing comfortably so it ’s perfect. Would buy again.

This harness fits comfortably and is exactly what I wanted. It is tough and rugged. It handles all the climbing I 've done indoors and out and I really appreciate the appearance as well.

[ This harness is a lifesaver. I had to replace my 10- year- old Black Diamond harness after many uses. The harness is very easy to adjust, especially when ice climbing and transitioning to rock climbing. The leg loops are so comfortable, especially during falls. The gear loops are perfect for trad and sport gear.

[ Had my old Energy harness for years, retired it and like this model every ounce as much as the last one. Fits well, light, good movement, and inexpensive. I will buy these harnesses until they do n't sell them anymore or they do something stupid to screw up a great thing!

[ I bought this a couple months ago and so far it ’s the most comfortable harness I ’ ve tried. I upgraded from the Petzl Corax and this is far more comfortable, and the build quality is incredible. I ’ ll probably be using Misty Mountain harnesses for good due to the great impression I have of this harness.
