This is a fantastic suspending jerkbait. Excellent weight transfer system, great castability and it suspends perfectly. Using a hard slack- line jerk really works best as this bait really has some spastic action. The slack line twitch will allow that spastic action without moving the bait a great distance. When it suspends it sits dead still in a slightly nose down position. Incredible bait for both largemouth and smallmouth.

This is similar to the Mytsery Tackle Box, which I also think is a great gift. But I am very happy I bought this as a Christmas gift for my father, for serendipitous reasons. Storytime: every May, he and I take a guided weekend fishing trip up to Lake St. Clair. We always bring and use our own tackle, and last trip our guide took us to a spot we had never fished before. It was weedy, and I ended up throwing a weedless jig I had in my tackle box, which matched the color that we always have the most success( e. g. Rapala Blue Ghost color). It was a swim jig, and I added a Powerbait craw trailer. In that one section, I landed a dozen bass in the 2- 4 pound range. It was very weedy with a lot of slop, and the jig moved perfectly through everything without getting hung up, or getting covered in slop with each cast. The problem was that( a) I only had one jig of that type and color; and( b) I had ZERO IDEA of the brand! I spent many hours online afterwards trying to find the exact jib for purchase, with zero luck... until my father opened the Rapala Bass Boom Box. As he pulled each item out... he took out the EXACT jig I used( climax: it is the Thunder Hawk Mouse Head Grass Jig). This shows one of the great aspects of these Boxes: you will get things you might never have thought of trying- or even knew existed!

So Booyah advertises that this frog is still heavy enough to cast with bait casting gear. I assure you, they 're correct and that any average bait casting gear can absolutely cast this frog! And with the right set up, you can cast it a country mile!!! This product is equally built when compared to it's big brother `` Pad Crasher '' and both are top quality hollow body frogs for a more than reasonable price. Excellent quality and value as you get a jighead and 2 tails. If you striper fish, a soft plastic sand eel is a necessity along with 2 other lures in the northeast. There's many options but what is nice about the Madeel the soft plastic is pre- formed with dedicated hook shank guide so there's no need to measure or keep retrying to center the hook or where it protrudes. Sometimes a Tsunami or Hogy eel does not work throw a Madeel and see if you get a hookup. Its' what happens to me all the time when one profile is seen too much another offering produces a strike. The plastic is also formed to the contours of its jighead so you will always get a consistent swim action.

I live in central New York where huge smallmouth are hard to find! In the last year I have caught six smallmouth twenty inches or better! All were caught on boo yah pond magic buzz baits! I caught several between 16- 19 inches! Last night I got another 20 on the firefly color! I never fished a buzz bait in my life until until a year ago. The results have been simply amazing! I love the junebug, red ant, firefly and firebug patterns! The only complaint I have is I can not get my hands on a limetreuse pattern to save my life! I have tried several brands but none catches smallmouth like pond magic buzz baits! Thank you for such an amazing product! I am one happy customer!

I live in the Texas Hill Country where Guadalupe Bass are indigenous to the region. These little `` Hot water trout '' are ferocious little fish and often do n't take conventional bait like worms and swimming lures. However, they love anything white and on the surface. But NOTHING, and I mean, NOTHING catches Guads like the Pond Magic buzzbait. These things are amazing. I do modify the bait though. I pinch the grommet under the blade and I clean the paint off the flange that sits against the grommet. This induces a squeak that can be heard as far away as your farthest cast. Being that this can be pulled through many kinds of weeds( as long as you do n't stop), I 've had bass chase the lure through weed beds trying to catch `` that critter ''. I 've had them make an attempt 3 and 4 times before being successful. If I had to survive eating fish in Texas and could only pick one lure, the Pond Magic would be at the top of my list.

This small bait will do a number on some bass. Since it is small and light it will bounce off weeds and wood instead of punching into the weeds. Strong enough to hold bass yet light to cast all day. Love it.
