I have used this paddld for a year and it has performed well. It was my first `` higher end '' paddle so I can compare it to other, more expensive paddles but I would buy again.

Shark
This was the first paddle I bought when I started playing 18 months ago at age 65. I found it to be very reliable and well suited while learning to play the game. I am now able to hit for power, control my shots, and effectively spin the ball as well. I purchased the paddle online and the price point was reasonable... not cheap, but affordable for a beginner. Wish paddles came with a stylish cover, but found one online from another source cost effectively.

Got interested in pickleball and decided to take it up on a regular basis during the winter months for exercise. Purchased the Onix( newer model) Z5 Paddle and find it to be a great paddle for a beginner turning intermediate player. Very pleased with my choice.

Started playing in August of 2023. My first paddle. Have since bought another paddle and used others. I keep going back to the Z5. Lots of power, durable face, and reliable. Added some lead tape, and an overgrip once the original grip began to wear.( Playing 4+ times per week) Paddle is now even better IMO.

Overall the 505 has been an excellent paddle for me, I have used this paddle for two years as this is my second one. The paddle has great balance and control and the long handle allows two handed. Backhands, it also has a wonderful grip. I have played with many other popular paddles from different companies and this paddle by far has the best overall qualities of control and power.
5
Sam
I 've played with the 505 for about a year. The 505 does many things very well including pop, consistency, leverage, and control. Having played with many of the top brands the thing that sets the 505 apart is its large and consistent sweet- spot. This effects your entire game but for me it tremendously helped with the 3rd/5th/7th shot drops. I believe this is a great paddle for everyone but especially the 3. 5- 4. 0 player trying to progress forward to 4. 5. The paddle produces average spin which I think is actually a positive for this level of player, forcing them to focus on form and consistency over creating MAD spin. I coach and play at 5. 0. Thanks, GAMMA, for another great paddle!

Tried and true. This paddle has been around for a while. I ’ m not looking to compete just to get gradually better. The length of it has helped me reach higher for lobs and low skimmers; the surface has enabled me to put a nice spin on the ball with little effort. After 2 weeks of play with the Gamma Compass, I feel my game has improved. Thanks!

My first paddle was the Onyx Z5, a very popular entry level paddle that has a mostly square shape. I am only 5' 7 '' tall and I found that I was just missing balls over my head or to the side by about an inch. This elongated paddle gives me the extra reach and I now get balls that I would not get with a shorter paddle. It fells solid and has good power and control.

Wow! I have been playing pickleball for about 3 years. I do it for fun- nit competition but this year... maybe. I have a small hand and live the grip material. My hand does not sweat holding the grip and we play 1 and 1/2 hours 3X weekly. The paddle is balanced and lightweight but fierce. Long shots, dinks, cross- court for serves or returns- great. I used a friends before I bought it for it is a little pricey but worth it. I saw in the picture that it was pink but it isn ’ t. It is more if a mauve. That has nothing to do with performance so 5 stars!

Gamma Sports, do not stop making this paddle. After nearly a year of playing with the Hellbender, it's still my go to paddle. I am a beginner( 5 months) on Pickleball and always had crappy paddles. I decided to go big with the Head Extreme Tour without knowing how it would be compared to the crappy ones I had. I really like the feel of the grip. I have a bit more control but not a lot of power, compared to the crappy ones. Sometimes I switch paddles between the Head and the crappy ones, but that lasts for 3 or 4 shots and I come back to the Head paddle.
