[ This is a relaxed fit shoe with a relatively roomy toe box. I am between an 11 and 11. 5 normally but went with an 11 in this shoe. I ’ m glad I did as the fit is just about perfect due to the relaxed fit. The colorway is very classy( Cirrus Grey/Grill). I get a lot of compliments on my other PFG boat shoes( esp the Bonehead) and I ’ m sure these Boatsides will get some props, too.

I got these for my papa as a late fathers day gift. He works at a big plant in Donaldson and he wears them every day.( Even though they change in the locker rooms anyway.) He wears them whenever we go shopping, out to eat, anywhere! When you first get them though, make sure you wear socks above the ankle, they will rub your heels! [ I bought these when my old boots finally fell apart. I actually bought a number of different boots to try them on and these topped the bunch in terms of fit and weight. So I returned the others and the next test was how these operated in use and the passed with flying colors. I picked a 2. 5mile hike in that had varied terrain from gravel to lots of rocks to a fair bit of scrambling to get to the good holes. These performed very well. The soles are stiff enough to support walking across the rocky bottom and not risk an ankle but supple enough to feel the terrain and grippy enough to feel secure and not slip. I noticed the weight( or lack thereof) after 7 hours of hiking, fishing, exploring- my legs and feet felt great. They shed mud and silt very well and finally they dried quickly. I 'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend this boot to anyone looking.

They look even better than the photos, the grey as not so boring. These look sharp. The boot materials are premium, but the boa wire is not as heavy duty as I expected. It is a very thin and flexible, I hope it does not snap or fray over time. I bought men's size 13. They are roomy, even with neoprene footies and wool socks. But when submerged did pressurize a bit. This seemed to help with comfort especially on the toes. I can not get the boa as tight as I am accustomed to with traditional laces. First time out I felt myself being cautious because they are not as stable in that regard. I would n't say I am swimming in them but definitely a relaxed fit. I think it will just take some getting used to. I 'd be curious to see how a 12 would fit but did n't have the chance to try them on. All the recommendations were to size up from regular shoe. The way they drain water is no joke, made for very easy clean up and they seemed nearly dry by the time I got home. As far as the soles, traction seems up to par. The felt sole is thinner than some other brands. The rubber was nice for walking and one of the rivers I go to is mostly sand so perfect for that. They were not as easy to swap out as described, which i guess is good because they tried to address the problem of some folks losing their soles in the river. I had more trouble getting one of the orange tabs back in, it would not snap in properly. I had to use a screwdriver.

I like that it has the metal rivets along the eyelights for the laces. These boots appear as if they were made to last. I would recommend this boot to others. I give these 5 stars as I have put somewhere around 300 days or more fishing my first pair of these and have put 20 or so on a second because the sole cracked on the first. I fish the Rio Grande in New Mexico several days a year crawling on the volcanic rock, boulders, cactus, sage and they have held up to it. I have tortured these boots and they held as long as any other guides much more expensive boots. I only wish I could get them with about a 3rd the volume as I have a size 13 B foot and have to fill lots of space with wading socks. Even still I bought a second pair.

[ I waited a year to give these shoes a fair shot. These did not disappoint! I just got back from two weeks in Italy and wore these shoes almost every day. I averaged 15, 000+ steps a day and they held up like rock stars! The cushioning while walking on the cobblestone streets was great, the traction during thunderstorms on the stone steps was amazing, and the breathability during 90 degree days was welcomed. Do not sleep on these shoes! Columbia please make these in all black to go with my other outfits as well!

Read a review to size down 1/2 size.. I did and they fit perfectly. After hiking over 5 miles without socks, no blisters or red spots. I climbed over wet and moss covered rocks. Great traction. Very comfortable. And they were super easy to clean off mud and trail debris.

[ I 've been looking for an alternative to my Xtratuffs and came across these. The comfort on the midsole is what I was really looking forward too. Long days on my feet on a 10+ hour workday means I need all the comfort I can get and so far these shoes have met my expectations. So far the outer water protection layer is holding up. The only downside I 've found so far is the opening to the shoe is narrow and I have to wear long socks or pants that come down to protect my shins from all the rubbing and hitting from walking.

The one that says xtratuff, it peeled off within a few months of wear. They seem well made but for some reason this part of the boot just hasn ’ t held up.
