The fit is great overall, maybe a tiny bit large but nothing to complain about as the XL is intended to cover a range of foot sizes. For comparison I wear an XL in Darn Tough as well and they fit fine if maybe a touch small. I would definitely buy smartwool socks again in the future. They seem like they are holding up nicely.

[ I bought a pair of Women's Targeted Cushion socks for my wife and a pair of Men's for myself. We both agree, these are our new favorite running socks. They do n't have the compression that most of our other running socks, however, the comfort is through the roof. Cushion is perfect without making the sock too thick. I may choose a thinner sock for the hotter days, but more often than not, I will be reaching for this sock, especially on my longer runs. Five stars, two thumbs up. I will soon be ordering additional pairs of this sock.

Our daughter likes the adidas brand as they are easier to put on than other brands that her team requires. These are also more durable than the other brands.
