[ Just having been in the basketball space( at all levels) for a long time, I 've been exposed to all of the different types of balls that are used at each level. For the elite high school level, I firmly believe that this is probably the best basketball available. A lot of the other balls are way too soft-- while some people think they `` feel nice '', I think it's just too mushy. It does n't roll off your fingers the same way a professional level basketball would( which are much harder); also does n't have that `` oomph '' factor when passing and catching. There are a couple other balls that are not as soft( a little harder), but maybe as a trade- off, they have far less pebbling and are otherwise just smoother-- this reduces the tactile aspect that players enjoy from pebbling; you 're able to feel the ball better and just have a better grip on the ball overall when passing, catching, shooting, or laying the ball in. I think this Nike Elite Championship Basketball combines the best of both words-- 1) it's soft but not too soft, so it feels good without being mushy, and 2) it retains the really nice pebbling that is often appreciated for its tactile function. On top of all of that, the quality is great-- the seems are even without any deformation or anything and the text print is perfect as well. All in all, highly recommend this for high- level players in high school( and beyond). Get this ball!

I bought this ball in December of 2022. I 've used it for over a year and a half and it's held up amazingly. I 've played/trained on turf, grass and concrete and the surface of the ball is very durable. Durability is a big factor when I 'm deciding to choose a ball, and for this price point I ca n't complain. The material is durable and not bad to the touch when dribbling on concrete and turf. I did notice that while dribbling the ball can be sticky compared to others in the same price point. I had complaints about it being too hard of a ball, but personally that did n't bother me much. There are other balls with cushion if comfort is more important to you. However, I did n't find it to be uncomfortable when hitting long shots or long passes. Overall review is that it is a great ball for durability on all surfaces, and a great ball for training and recreational games. If you want higher quality or similar balls that are in higher level competitions, then you might be better off purchasing a competition tier ball( not the pro ball) that way you can train with something that is similar to what you play with in a match. Hope this helps!
