I got a few of these for my paddles. I am redoing my gear room, hanging kayaks on wall. I got these holders to not mount on kayaks, as who wants to put holes in boats? I got them to screw into the rafters to clip my sets of paddles to the ceiling. The end tips close a tad behind the paddle, keeping it secure and can hang upside down. Tho I am still in process of redoing room, I have not hung up paddles yet, but IT WILL without a doubt work. If you 're transitioning from top rope to to lead climbing, this is a useful tool. If you want to send a route that has a crux early on, this is a useful tool. If you decide you ca n't finish said route and need to retrieve a quick draw out of reach, this is a useful tool. Simply attach it to any extension rod and suddenly you have a go go gadget arm. Takes some technique, but you got this!

It's been great for that and has given us the opportunity to climb a grade above our current level. It's also great on climbs that are run out with the first bolt having the possibility to fall unprotected. The Squid is also super easy to use and to get the hang of( Pun intended). [ I 've been someone who's fairly efficient at rodeoing clips, but you ca n't do that unless it's perma- drawed or someone has already run up the route. This was a great investment even on it's very first trip. Being able to set a draw, put a rope on it, and even un- clip the draw from the wall makes it easier to convince people to push themselves on routes. Will definitely be taking this on all future trips!
