I have purchased 10 mxt 115 radios and have mounted most of them in trucks tractors and combines. They are an excellent value, easy to install and work well. We are fetting at miimum 5 miles and up to 12 miles of range with them. The noise cancelling mics work great in noisier cabs. They also work great with our other Midland mobile and handheld radios. My only complaint was with the biult in speakers not being loud enough in some applicatuons.. Auxilliary sprakers solved that. I would definatly buy these radios again.

Talks clearly within 2 miles in tree using the factory 2. 1db antenna. 2 to 3 times further in line of site. The MXT115 was showing just under 3 amps when transmitting. Great radio for communicating with friend while doing outdoor activities. Simple instructions that are easy to follow.

Very pleased. This is a good price/range point. Very clear reception. My best range in the central Maryland area( rolling hills) 45 miles. MXTA26 antenna( 32 '', 6db) on roof of my car. I used this tool: https: //www. heywhatsthat. com/profiler. htm. Experimentation seems to prove it out. It factors in atmospheric refraction which helps go beyond pure line of sight. Terrain was favorable.

Installed two of these in our trucks with the Mag base and the MXT 26 Antenna. Living in West Central Michigan, there is varying terrain conditions, hills, some very wooded areas, and open farmland. The radios performed great between our two vehicles! 8. 5 miles apart with our communications being great! Only thing that stopped us was a very, very large hill. Radio build Quality is good, easy to use and to see screen on the mic with large channel numbers for old eyes.

I purchased this since I live in Florida and hurricane season is coming up. Its very compact and can take power from a USB, batteries, crank, or solar panel. It has room for non- rechargable batteries and comes with a large recharable battery( that can be replaced). Its got a decent light on it and both AM/FM radio and siren. This is must have if you live in an area with bad weather or you like to go camping.
