The newly restored version of the great Wilson 8802 is just as outstanding and even better than its namesake original. It is perfectly balanced, has just the right amount of loft, has a milled face for a more precision roll, has outstanding feel and most importantly is designed for releasing the club head, allowing for a true topspin roll that starts on line and stays online all the way to the hole. The stock narrow grip also promotes the low hand release, that combined with the narrow mass on the putter head promotes putts to come at the hole on the high side, and not the dreaded low side. So many of the big grip, big head putters promote a pop stroke that can lead to cutting the ball with a less than true roll, especially on short and left to right putts, but the 8802 brings back images of Crenshaw and Faxon really letting the putter head release, and clearly so much of that had to do with the design concepts of the putter that these great players understood, and helped make them great Champions too.

Had been gaming the AI S2S Max Stipe putter and really liked it, but I could never quite get comfortable with the grip. The S2S design and built- in forward press definitely aren ’ t for everyone, but that setup has always felt natural to me. When the new Ai Dual 1/2 Ball version came out, I had to give it a try. I absolutely love the look of this putter. The black shaft paired with the red- accented 1/2 Ball design gives it a really clean, modern appearance. I wasn ’ t sure about the reverse taper grip at first — it felt a little bulky — but it quickly grew on me and now feels great in my hands. The added grip offset is a nice bonus as well. The new insert also has a better feel to it. If you ’ re considering a zero- torque option or something like the LAB DF 3. The Ai Dual Square 2 Square Max 1/2 Ball is definitely one worth trying

I expect this putter to be in the bag a long time. I enjoyed the previous max stripe model of this putter, but this is an improvement in every way. Love the new grip, blacked out stroke lab 120 shaft, and 1/2 ball alignment. Putter is so easy to align with the combination of the head shape and 1/2 ball alignment makes this putter aim naturally at your target without second guessing. The 1/2 ball alignment makes lining up to and striking the center of the putter face much easier as well. The square 2 square design does not fight against my putting stroke which makes it easy to consistently start the ball on the intended line. The Ai dual insert is soft but provides good audible feedback. All these things combined make this putter perform extremely well, and my confidence is only growing with each round. Biggest surprise new club this year in my opinion. I ’ m tempted to pick up a backup, and possibly the cruiser and broomstick version just to have em all, it ’s that good.

I was looking at all the available counter balanced putters, and this is the one I kept coming back to. In my unscientific side by side with the Taylormade, Tommy Armour, Scotty Cameron, etc. this is the one that I made the most putts with and felt most confident with. Performed excellent on the course, too- I was a noticeably better putter while using it, one or two putting almost all 18. Feels great, works great. If you try it and it works well for you, there is zero reason to buy anything more expensive unless you want to pay an extra couple hundred to have a different logo etched into your club.

Love how the weight of this putter minimizes my tendency to over hit the ball. I ’ m 15 rounds into using it and I can tell the heft chills me out and I ’ m coming up just short or sinking it vs over shooting the hole. Only thing I don ’ t like is the putter cover is hard to replace one handed and any bump in the cart knocks it off without me knowing.

I just received my MT22 putter and am already impressed with it. This putter compares well to all the other milled putters available today. The craftsmanship is outstanding. You know immediately when you have something in your hands that is expertly made and of the highest quality. At address the putter gives me a sense of confidence. When I take a stroke I notice that the shape of the head and it's weight make keeping it in line easy. Then when you strike the ball there is a solid thump and that sensation carries up into the hand giving you the feedback that it was solidly hit. The weight of the putter also helps better judge the amount of force needed to stroke the ball all the way to the cup without putting too much force on the putt. There is just enough toe hang to keep the putter head square through the stroke. If there is one drawback is the lack of options when it comes to the grip. It would be great if this came with the option for an oversize grip. I would not hesitate changing the grip but it is my understanding that Wilson counter balances their putters and I am afraid that changing the grip would alter the great balance this putter has.

I recently did a fitting and got matched up with a bettinardi bb48. No one in my city sells Wilson off the rack so I bit the bullet and bought this one. I definitely don ’ t regret it at all. It really has nearly identical feel and performance as the bb48. This putter is over all really well balanced and has a premium look and feel. The feel is definitely softer but not so soft that you lose feedback. The top line is clean and back really flows nicely drawing your eye to the sight line and it reallg squares nicely behind the ball. The weight is also really well balanced. It doesn ’ t feel too clunky and heavy. Being that I recently changed from an older 330g blade putter I was worried it would be too heavy but this is not the case at all. It has almost a blade feel with the added control of a mallet. My only complaint is that Wilson doesn ’ t have a lot of finish options. I do prefer a black putter but luckily I am able to refinish it at home.

This putter is basically automatic. I also own a Spider Tour X that cost me an arm and a leg more than this Ping Scottsdale Anser 2D and I have to say it is a dead heat as to which one I like better. In hindsight, I would have saved the money for something else and just gone with the Ping. The insert on this is magical, and feel is off the charts. Basically, feels like a softer milled face putter, and the balance and weight is superior to the many other putters I have tried. As always, the design and materlals used by Ping are top notch-- shaft made in Japan( likely by Nippon or Fujikura), head is made in Vietnam, and it's all assembled in the good ole US of A. Ping designs and materials are unmatched. You get more than what you pay for! Who needs a$ 400+ putter when you can snag this at under$ 250?!

I 'm on my 3rd week with this putter and am LOVING it! Got ta be honest... it ca n't read the green for me or tell me how firm to hit the ball BUT it 100% starts on my intended line. That's all I can ask for. I 'm an 11- 12 handicap and had 4 BIRDIES IN A ROW at Medallion CC on Saturday... it likely wo n't ever happen again but there's no way it would have happened with my old putter!

I knew of Evnroll but that ’s where it began and ended. My friend and I putted with just about every putter there. Taking our time to compare as we went.
