Kit worked well. I changed the mount from inside the trailer to outside( who wants to lose space in the trailer bed?) by getting some additional u- bolts and L- brackets to replace the bottom mounting plates. I did have to replace the bolts used to attach the tie down points, as the wrench needed to tighten them would not reach inside the cross bar.$ 2. 50 worth of slightly smaller bolts, nuts and washers fixed the issue. I still need to cut off the excess bolt threads, but it is going to work great for carrying kayaks while still allowing the trailer to be used for hauling other items.

No, I do not personally own one of the racks, but coming from a person with loads of ladder rack and vehicle rack purchasing and using experience, this may the coolest, most useful product I ’ ve ever come across. And believe me when I say, I am very OCD, we use ladder racks on all our work trucks and enclosed trailers and I have shopped just every brand and style out there. Never have I run across anything this functional. Such a simple idea and long overdue. Wish I had thought to design and sell it.

Like it so far- we have a Rav 4 Adventure and had to put the rack in the middle which makes it a little harder to get the Kayaks on the roof. It might have been better if we bought two separate units so they could be closer to the side of the Rav. Also with the support straight up, the bigger Kayak needs to be held until you get the first strap on it. All that said, the rack seem strong and the Kayaks rode well.

Was easy to install. Be sure to read the instructions. There are adjustment screws you need to use for a snug fit. Loaded easily before my paddle. After a few hours of paddling, I did not have the strength to get the kayak back on. I am a big, strong guy. My kayak is only 68 pounds. Thought I could do it. Fortunately, someone came along and pushed it right up for me. I an going to try it again with the bow rope looped up around the carrier bar. Otherwise, I will only be taking it where I know I can get some help loading.

I love this rack! Easy to load and unload your kayak from and easy to strap it down. It's very solid and my kayak does n't move when traveling at 65 mph. No bow or stern tie straps are even necessary when going short distances at 55- 60 mph. My kayak lies flat and does n't allow the wind to push my vehicle while traveling. Compared to other kayak carriers it is also very affordable. I would definitely recommend this rack.

It installed nicely on my 2010 Chevy Equinox and with the help of the Thule slide, I am able to lift and load without any help. It was a nice snug transport of 10 miles driving 55mph. I am a 44 year old, 5' 3 '' female. In purchasing this item, I researched the ability to load by myself, cost of the product and being able to attach the saddle to a factory installed roof rack. The Malone Saddleup Pro is a lot better as far as quality goes. It is VERY easy to assemble and only takes a few minutes. It is also very ridgid and strong. This kayak saddle has made my life easier. I have one of these. It is massive. It is solid as well. I think I 've accidentally bumped the top of against a ceiling at least 4 or 5 times and not a scratch on it, no dents or cracks either. I have been able to fit an absolute ton of stuff in it. Aerodynamic? Sort of. It will reduce your MPGs by at least 4- 5mpg on the highway. But you are getting a super huge place to store items. Rugged, built well. If you do n't abuse it, it will last.

We checked the bolts during stops and there were a few times we had to tighten them, but they were never loose enough that it would fall off. I 'm using these for kayak racks on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. They really fit nicely into recesses under the hood that will keep them from sliding in either direction. Same in the rear hatch although the straps could be just a bit longer for the rear hatch. The rubber tubes are rather large diameter, about an inch, which makes for a really secure hold.

Building process was a bit more cumbersome than anticipated. Instructions were almost minimal, which I would have preferred more script than just generic pictures of how it supposed to attach onto the bed of the truck. I also was not given any spare parts for anything section of the build( Very Nerve Wracking). After building the entire system I am very pleased and very happy with my purchase and absolutely love that I can collapse and adjust the rack system to my liking, that was a very big pro! All in all I would recommend anyone this rack system as long as it fits the sizing requirements which is almost all trucks. Something to note for others, I knew this before purchase and was n't any issue for my intended uses, is that the rack sits an inch or two under the cab height. This is definitely something to be aware of but overall very pleased with this system!
