Growing up, we never had a facemask for our batting helmets. This past spring season, the league made it mandatory. It was a good thing, too. There have been times that the ball hit the players face mask. We are in a fall league that the face mask is not mandatory. Sure, my son ’s helmet is slightly heavier than the other kids. I don ’ t have to worry about a wild pitch or foul tip going to his jaw or face. Since my son wears glasses, I see the mask as protecting any wild pitches from smashing his glasses. We have Easton ’s facemask in the past without any issues. We were unable to find an Easton helmet and facemask. He tried on the Under Armor helmet and it fit well. We purchased the face mask that goes with it. It took less than 3 minutes to put it together. It is sturdy and durable. If you are playing baseball, make sure that you do not purchase a softball mask. A baseball will be able to fit through the cage bars.

10/10 would recommend. It feels like there is memory foam in the forehead. The adjust strap might be loose and it wont tighten until you tighten it. Good thing i tightened it because i was close to returning it. The only bad thing is that it takes about a month to deliver.

This Victus face mask well definitely put a parent at ease( it did for us) when their child is playing t- ball or baseball. It does stick out from their face a little bit and it does take some time getting used to “ seeing ” the ball when they are swinging, but they ’ ll get used to it. One just needs one tool( a screwdriver) to put the guard on. The instructions and pictures are easy to follow along and should take no more than a few minutes to remove the four foam plugs and screw in the four screws and t- nuts together. They hardest part is understanding that this face mask may only work with the Victus helmet and not any other named brand helmets.

seems to be a nice helmet. we have been using it indoors at domeball right now. My 13 year old daughter seems to have a smaller head so this works perfectly for her. the one thing she did n't like about this helmet is the chin strap is wierd. It is like a canvas strap- not stretchy like the RIP- IT brand helmets have. i do n't think she will be using that at all.
