This is a perfect sling pack that is not too big and holds what you need for a day out on the water. I fish the Tampa Bay Area and near by flats. It is comfortable, very functional, and gets the job done without overwhelming you with size and too many pockets with to much going on. This is exactly what I was looking for versus other larger bags that dip into the water as I wade. Too much bag is too much out wade fishing. This is just the right size.

[ I purchased this pack about a month ago and it has worked great for ultralight spin fishing. I know this is n't the intended use for this pack, but it works great for my purposes. It holds two 3500 series tackle boxes, plus a small fly/lure box. I really like the easy access to my nips via the zero sweep docking station and the hemostat storage location. I 'll probably add a bottle holder. The pack is well built and is easy to carry for several hours of river fishing.

This rig was the answer to my wade fishing problems. Pros: 1. The slim, vertical design allows more arm movement and I can get more casts in a day for power fishing. 2. Built in stringer holder is a blessing. It solved a major issue I was having. Plus, I feel better knowing I can throw the stringer away quickly if a shark decides to attack my fish. 3. Being able to hold a 3500 of your choice is nice, plenty of water proof or sealed options on the market. 4. Breathable mesh in hot/humid Texas conditions is excellent. 5. Buckle and strap system is intuitive, no struggling to adjust. 6. Comes with a 3500 tray for terminal and a tiny water proof box( I use it for my car key), glad they included it as a nice touch! 7. D- Ring at the bottom of the rig is great for wading net or fish grips access, well thought out there 👍🏻 Personal issues with the rig: 1. The rod holder just does n't make sense. I get what they were going for but I get more rod security when I place the rod between the rig and my chest. I would personally get rid of the rod holder BUT KEEP THE D- RING!! The D- Ring there makes sense without the rod holder there!! 2. I do n't understand the D- Ring on the back harness? I want to use it but I do n't get their intentions. Would love to know how to utilize it! 3. The large pocket closest to you is a super snug fit for the 3500 trays( which I find odd). I 'd make both front and back large pouches the same size so they fit the 3500 tray fairly without cramming it? The front pouch is perfect for the 3500 tray( as they probably designed it that way 👍🏻) Overall, great design and will buy again in the future IF it fails. Thanks!

5 Max L
Bought this to wading around tampa bay with minimal tackle. Its perfect!! holds 4 bags of z man plastics as well as one tackle box with enough storage told hold some hard plastics as well as your terminal tackle. Plenty of space to just bring the bare essentials! the rod holder and the plier storage areas work really well and helps a lot when changing tackle while out wading on the water. Two minor gripes about the bag. The position that the stringer needle is right around your right arm. You may on occasion if not paying attention accidently pull the needle out while fighting a fish. It's happen a couple of times but it was no big deal. Also there is a d ring directly above the rod holder. I like to put my fish grips on that side but it can get in the way of the rod when you are tying to put it away. But the pros for the bags are overwhelming and I would recommend this bag to any wade fisherman

Great for Panfish, Trout, Crappie, Perch, Smaii Largemouth Bass, and Smallmouth Bass! I fish them primarily on light and ultralight spinning rods in creeks, ponds and from banks in shallow areas!

5 Popout
Joe's flies never fail!! Hooks are super sharp so be careful

5 Kevin45
If you dont catch fish on Joe's, theyre not biting!!! I took a 21 inch large mouth on a Joe's first cast after hitting the waters with the standard bass lures... In fact wife and I both started using them with great results.... These are our goto lures on new water bodies with unknown specimens. Nailed a 14. 5 inch black crappie on them the following week... Be warned, withthe two hook combo you might want to use some tools to retrieve your fly cause theyre sharp and wont let go!!

5 Eric78D
These things catch trout and panfish. They mKe bigger ones for bass also. They have stinger trebble hooks that act like a grappler hook locking your fish in place with the single hook. This is great for short striking fish esp timid panfish or cold weather trout.

5 Mike1344
I keep a Short Striker on a 5ft. microspinner all the time so I can just grab it and go when I get some unexpected fishing time. They 're not even listed as one of the lure's targets, but I caught three small bullheads right in a row on nice, slow retrieves tonight.

Bought these and took them with me to Montana when I caught many, many trout. I probably would not have caught any with another brand of leaders, LOL. Honestly, these did what they were supposed to do.

Fished with these in a river doing a bobber float for the kids. Flies stayed dry and floated on top of the water. Super small eyelets so use really light line.

Frequently Asked Questions For Fly Fishing Packs

When selecting a fly fishing pack, consider features such as storage capacity, organization options, and accessibility. Look for packs with multiple compartments to keep your gear organized and easily accessible while on the water. Additionally, features like water-resistant materials and comfortable straps can enhance your overall fishing experience.

Fly fishing packs come in various types, including sling packs, chest packs, and hip packs. Each type offers different benefits depending on your fishing style and preferences. Sling packs provide easy access and mobility, while chest packs keep your essentials close at hand, making them ideal for wading in streams.

Choosing the right size fly fishing pack depends on the amount of gear you typically carry and the duration of your fishing trips. For short outings, a smaller pack may suffice, while longer trips may require a larger pack with more storage space. Consider the types of items you need to carry, such as tackle, tools, and personal items, to determine the appropriate size.

Fly fishing packs are typically made from durable, water-resistant materials such as nylon or polyester. These materials help protect your gear from moisture and wear during outdoor activities. Additionally, some packs may feature reinforced stitching and zippers for added durability and longevity.

Yes, certain fly fishing packs are designed with specific environments in mind, such as freshwater streams, saltwater flats, or backcountry fishing. These packs may offer features tailored to the conditions, like additional waterproofing for saltwater use or extra storage for backcountry gear. It's important to consider where you plan to fish when selecting a pack.

To ensure comfort while wearing a fly fishing pack, look for adjustable straps and padded areas that distribute weight evenly. A well-fitted pack will reduce strain on your shoulders and back, allowing for longer fishing sessions without discomfort. Additionally, consider the pack's weight and how it aligns with your gear to maintain comfort throughout your outing.
