I 'm travelling around the country, having left in mid November. I headed North first, through West Virginia and Ohio, and this bag kept me plenty warm even down in the 20's sleeping in either my car or at a campsite. I even woke up sweating from being too hot some nights. Now in Illinois& snowing, so had to move to motels until I get South again. Many bags profess to be good in low temps, but I believe this one lives up to its word!

Very comfortable sleeping bag. Great sleeping bag for side sleepers. Roomy and don ’ t feel restricted. This sleeping bag will keep you warm at 0 c, but you may want to consider a synthetic quilt or wear a down puffer jacket for cooler temperatures to keep warm.

I ’ ve been using the Questar™ 20F/- 6C Sleeping Bag on several camping trips now, and it has exceeded my expectations every time. The warmth and comfort it provides, even in colder conditions, are impressive. The fit is cozy without feeling restrictive, and the materials feel high- quality and durable. One feature that stood out to me is the SynergyLink™ connectors, which kept the bag securely in place on my sleeping pad throughout the night, preventing any cold spots. I also appreciate the ThermoCapture™ lining that effectively reflects body heat, making this bag a true lifesaver on colder nights. Setting it up and packing it away is a breeze, and it compresses well for easy storage in my backpack. Whether I ’ m car camping or backpacking, this bag has become my go- to for any adventure where I need reliable warmth and comfort.

[ COMFORT: First off let me state that this bag is not made of some super thin sticky nylon like some ultralight bags are. This very soft to the touch and extremely comfortable. I actually prefer the way it feels to my actual bed at home that we have spent thousands on. The bag lofts up nice and thick and looks very inviting and actually makes you excited to snuggle down in it for sleep. In addition, the bag is very roomy. It doesn ’ t feel constricting like typical mummy bags. If you are a side sleeper or toss and turn I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU GET THE LONG VERSION of this bag even if you don ’ t need it for height. The main reason is that the long version of this bag is also wider in the foot box than the regular length. This provides quite a bit more comfort for those of us who move around a lot at night. Even though the long bag says it ’s for 6 ’ 6 ” people I ’ m 5 ’ 10 ” and this allows me to snuggle down into the bag and pull it over my head for warmth as well as leaving me the option to store gear in the bottom to prevent it from freezing. Had I got the regular length it would have forced me to sleep with my head outside exposed and left no room in the foot box. TEMPERATURE RATING TEST: It ’s October now and we recently had some cooler weather move in for a couple of days so I used it as an opportunity to test the bag and my new sleep pad. According to accuweather temps dipped down to 40*. I slept outside on our deck to test this bag. First I laid down a thin blanket to prevent any damage to my thermarest from splinters or such. Next was my thermarest neo- air xlite. Finally, this bag which is comfort rated to 32* when you wear appropriate base layers. As stated above, the temps supposedly dipped down to 40* and I chose to wear nothing but my boxer briefs as I figured if I stayed warm then I should have no problem staying warm to 32* with wool base layers as the rating suggest. I can confirm that the bag worked great. No issues whatsoever. I slept all night in the bag and never got cold. Starting off the night when it was around 48* I was actually too hot and had to unzip the bag. At about 7am when temps were at their low I stayed zipped inside but stayed comfortable. The biggest surprise to me was that I didn ’ t get cold feet. I don ’ t think I have ever slept outside and not got cold feet. And this is while wearing thick wool socks. Often 2 pair of them! In this sleeping bag I wore no socks at all and my feet stayed warm. This was a pleasant surprise. I now have no worries as winter progresses that this bag will do just fine in lower temps so long as I wear appropriate clothing as suggested. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, if you like to move around at night and don ’ t like a typical mummy bag this is the one you should get. It ’s very roomy and never once did I feel confined. I rolled and tossed all over the place and stayed warm and cozy. I spent hours searching for something lighter and while you may find something a few ounces lighter than this bag it will cost twice as much and will be about a foot narrower in the foot box. I hope thermarest never stops making these bags. I want to save up for the 0* version now for those really cold nights. I now have a thermarest xlite pad, this thermarest sleeping bag, and a thermarest pillow and none of them have disappointed me. At this point I don ’ t think I would hesitate to buy anything thermarest offers if I needed it because it ’s clear their gear is well thought out and quality made.

[ Purchased this bag for shoulder season backpacking in Colorado. I used it for the firsttime last weekend. Night time temps got down to around 28F and this bag kept me toasty and feeling warm all through the night. It is incredibly light weight considering the fill and has a nice feel to the material. The only thing I would change is to have the secondary foot zipper extend further into the foot box area. It does n't expel heat fast enough if you run warm.

[ Have taken this bag camping twice. First time had mild night temps in the 40s and was never chilled; opening the bag a bit solved any overheating. Just got back from the second outing where the temps unexpectedly dropped to 19F. There was frost in the tent and on the bag but I was completely warm and dry. Plenty of room inside, though I could use a little less length, as my feet sometimes get chilly because I ’ m so short I can ’ t reach the bottom of the bag to warm it up. Great shoulder season bag. Very satisfied with this purchase.

[ I brought this sleeping bag with me on my thru- hike of the Pacific Crest Trail last summer. I slept in it for 150 nights and never let me down! Great balance between weight, warmth, and price. However, I found it very narrow. I like to sleep with my legs forming a figure 4 shape, but it was impossible to do in this bag. I also rotate like a rotisserie chicken during the night and I got tangled in it a few times. A little bit cold when temperatures drop towards 0°C, especially when the bottom of the bag is exposed, as it is less insulated than the top. I had to wear my puffy for those nights or wrap it around my bum to keep it warm. Finally, I found it a bit bulky but it is overall a great product! I would recommend it to thru- hikers on a budget or anyone going on shorter trips.

[ Leveled up from my old synthetic sleeping bag to down and am super happy so far. It ’s so cozy and packs down small. I love that there ’s room for me to turn any which way and curl my legs up in this bag, it is much less constricting than a typical mummy bag. I did find that the bag didn ’ t really move with me the way I expected it to for side sleeping, so I found the hood section kind of in my way at some points. It wasn ’ t too cold so I just kept my head out and used that part as a pillow of sorts. I did also notice a bit of shedding of feathers and hope that will remain minimal over time. So far I ’ ve used it for two nights in about 40deg weather and was very warm.

[ I absolutely dig this Basecamp bag. This bag is of great quality. I recently went on a 3 night camping trip. I have a 4runner that I am able to sleep in with plenty of room so I got the Basecamp bag to use in it. The bag is very big with plenty of wiggle room, which is important to me since I flip and flopp around at night. There is also space for the next days clothes I can keep in the bag. The zippers allow for the bag to open in various configurations.- 1°c and I was toasty warm. P.s. I sleep with two windows open that i mesh over for that fresh air feeling.

I purchased this back in July. I have gone on 3 or 4 camping and backpacking trips with it now and have absolutely loved it. It's lightweight, compact, and keeps me warm enough for the fall nights up here in Idaho.

[ I was pleasantly surprised when I purchased this new sleeping bag- looking for a new down bag, packable, and would keep me warm through the cold Montana nights in Glacier National Park. I found the perfect fit- I have taken it on a few backpacking trips now and look forward to taking it out on more next summer!

[ I brought this bag on the Camino de Santiago. It gave me plenty of warmth when the temperatures dropped down to 40F without making me feel overheated in warmer temps. I only wish that the zipper extended down further. It was lightweight and easy to compress and carry in my 24L backpack. I highly recommend this bag.

[ I love this sleeping bag, super warm, great loft, and incredibly packable. I have't tested it out below 25 degrees yet but even at 30 I ca n't zip cause I 'm too warm( and I 'm usually a cold sleeper!). I switched from a Big Agnes 0 degree womens bag to this one and have been blown away by everything. And I really appreciate that the bag comes with a compression sack!

[ This is the best sleeping bag I 've ever used! I 've always had trouble with sleeping bags because they take up so much space in my backpack, but this bag is so compact and allows for other essentials to be placed in my bag. Its full sized and very warm. I like to add an extra blanket and pillow and it gets very comfortable. This is an essential to anyone who camps or travels.

[ I ’ m in the Military and I ’ ve replaced my Woobie with the Nanowave bag 4 years ago. Its ability to pack into my Ruck and cut the crisp edge off the cold is superb. I use it like a quilt to cover my body while wearing my armor. I put my feet down in it and drape the rest of it over my top half. I can jump up off the ground and stuff it away very quickly. It ’s perfect! I recommend it all the time to my coworkers. I love it.

I used this bag for a recent bike packing trip and it was amazing! It packed down super small and fit in my handlebar bag- which is impressive because it is a small size drop bar. The actual sleeping bag was perfect! Warm enough and super comfy- tons of room( though I am on the small side- 5' 2). I would 100% recommend!

I 've purchased the older version that's the super warm ones for fall camping in Colorado and it was super warm but a little bit challenging for me as I like to poke my feet out of the sleeping bag when I run hot. This design is superb with the option to cinch the feet and the snap buttons on top, really made it much user friendly for someone like me. This material is cooling, perfect for the upcoming summer camping. Super soft material, made it very easy to sleep in. Totally would recommend!

[ for the hot summer months and for those cold nights that you need something else. i mainly use this to cool down my body when it gets too warm but need that extra layer just to stay cool, in the summer this works well with a light blanket. and for the winter i use it to keep my quilt clean but still keep myself cool if it gets too hot, it adds extra layer of warmth because of all the heat being trapped and it is very cozy for sure i love this and planning to buy more.

First of all, you NEED a liner for your sleeping bag. If you wash your bedding at home once a week — that being under ideal hygienic conditions where you shower every single day — you really do n't want that funk getting into your expensive sleeping bag! That's where a liner really helps! This liner is an upgrade for me. I 've been using a Sea- to- Summit Comfort Blend for several years, and I 've really liked that product a lot. But I thought a back- up liner might be nice. But I was really blown away with how nice the Breeze liner is! Mine is the regular Mummy style, and I really appreciate the soft, wicking material that the Breeze is constructed from. Apparently it's a similar material as the Tek towels( I think…maybe its one of the other towels?). I sleep hot, and I sweat a lot at night, so drawing that moisture off is a really nice feature. To help regulate my comfort( including at home) I usually stick my feet out of the end of the bed( and of the liner), so the opening at the bottom is actually a really welcome feature! Yeah…I do n't wander the campsite in my liner, but I suppose you could if you wanted to. To each their own! Anyhow, I really love my new liner. What WAS going to be a spare is now my go- to!

I do n't normally give five stars, but I really like this product. I have the mummy version and love the drawstring bottom and snaps at the top. The snaps at the top mean you can have your arms free which is great for people who sleep with their hands behind or above their head. It is so easy to wash compared to a sleeping bag. I also have a Reactor liner and the Breeze liner is noticeably cooler to the touch. This is a great product for camping on warm summer nights!

[ This sleeping bag liner is genius. I never knew sleeping bag liners were a thing until we got this product. It's so easy to wash and will keep the sleeping bag clean. I never wanted to wash our sleeping bags because it's such a pain. I love how lightweight it is. I 'm a hot sleeper plus I live in Texas, so this liner will honestly be enough even without the sleeping bag most of the time. I also love the idea of being able to use it in hotels or in travel situations if I 'm concerned about cleanliness. It's easy to pack and takes up almost no space. I 'm so happy to have this liner.

[ I 've had my Kelty Galactic 30 for 5 years, and just bought a pair for my son and his wife. In my opinion this is the best bang for your buck in a sleeping bag for backpacking or camping. Packs small, lightweight, and reasonable price. It has a lot of loft and is very cozy. I sleep comfortably in it down to 40 degrees and add a liner to get to the mid- 30's, so it serves me well 3 seasons. I 've thrown it in the washer and dryer several times- just shake it out well and it regains its loft. Highly recommended!

The footbox is the section of a sleeping bag that is designed to accommodate your feet. It is typically shaped to provide extra room and insulation, ensuring that your feet stay warm and comfortable during sleep. A well-designed footbox can enhance overall comfort by allowing for natural foot positioning and preventing cold air from entering the bag.
When selecting a footbox sleeping bag, consider features such as insulation type, shape, and size. Look for a footbox that provides adequate space for your feet while also being tapered to retain warmth. Additionally, materials that offer breathability and moisture-wicking properties can enhance comfort during use.
Footbox sleeping bags can be designed for various seasons, but it's essential to check the temperature rating and insulation type. Some models are specifically made for warmer weather with lighter insulation, while others are built for colder conditions with thicker materials. Choosing the right footbox sleeping bag depends on your intended use and the climate you'll be in.
The design of a footbox can significantly impact sleeping comfort by allowing for natural foot movement and reducing pressure points. A well-constructed footbox provides enough space for your feet to shift without feeling cramped, which can lead to a more restful night's sleep. Additionally, a properly insulated footbox helps maintain warmth, contributing to overall comfort.
Footbox sleeping bags are typically made from a variety of materials, including synthetic fibers and down insulation. Synthetic materials are often favored for their moisture resistance and durability, while down insulation is known for its lightweight and excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. The choice of material can affect the bag's performance, weight, and packability.
