[ I love this sleeping bag! I typically go camping more casually, as in not backpacking for multiple days, etc., so keep that in mind when considering my opinion. The sleeping bag is lightweight yet warm. I ’ m glad it unzips on either side and includes various snaps and loops for increased functionality. I am an average height female of slim stature but I chose to purchase this version instead of the women ’s version. I haven ’ t compared sizes or other specs, but figured the unisex version was a safer and more flexible bet. I picked the 30 degree sleeping bag again for flexibility. I ’ ll be able to layer within the sleeping bag if I happen to camp in colder weather. I love the vented storage bag( as pictured). Not all sleeping bag storage bags are vented and that ’s a big positive for me.

[ I received this product complimentary from Influenster and Sea to Summit. Spark may be the right bag for you. Filled with RDS- certified 850+ fillpower goose down treated with a non- PFC Ultra- Dry Down treatment, the Spark is constructed with a technical hood Extremely nice sleeping bag will definitely keep me warm during the cold winter months while outdoors.

[ This sleeping bag is the best that I ’ ve ever tried. It is very lightweight but super warm. I like how easy it is to pack it up. It fits nicely in its own carrying bag, but it can be pressed even more to fit it in an even smaller space. There ’s plenty of room inside, but it is not so big that it wouldn ’ t function properly. It is very comfortable and easy to zip into it. Even my dog was obsessed with it when I first unpacked it

[ This sleeping bag is absolutely amazing. It is super light to carry( brings a bag to carry in it). Also, it is so soft and warm. This will be great use for our upcoming camping trip. I ’ m so excited about sleeping in it. I ’ m 5 ’ 4 for reference and this is a regular size one. It fits perfectly and still has plenty of legroom.

[ This bag will keep you warm and very comfy. It was overkill on my backpacking trip in Norway. I was sweating even in chilly weather. It kept me very comfortable on Aconcagua even at camp 4 at 19. 5k feet. My only complaint is the zipper gets snagged very easy. Nothing worse after taking a leak in the middle of the night and not being able to zip in quickly

[ I went on tour with my band and we didnt always sleep in a hotel. It so so incredibly soft and easy to inflate. I had a different way to pay and receive, and there were so last minute changes with the color and delivery, and the store/management staff handled them all beautifully. Even gave me the best discount they could get since I was a first time customer. Will for sure keep buying.

[ I 've had my Kelty Galactic 30 for 5 years, and just bought a pair for my son and his wife. In my opinion this is the best bang for your buck in a sleeping bag for backpacking or camping. Packs small, lightweight, and reasonable price. It has a lot of loft and is very cozy. I sleep comfortably in it down to 40 degrees and add a liner to get to the mid- 30's, so it serves me well 3 seasons. I 've thrown it in the washer and dryer several times- just shake it out well and it regains its loft. Highly recommended!

When choosing an expedition sleeping bag, consider features such as insulation type, temperature rating, and weight. Down insulation is often preferred for its warmth-to-weight ratio, while synthetic options may perform better in wet conditions. Additionally, look for a design that includes a draft collar and hood for added warmth, as well as a durable outer shell to withstand harsh environments.
The right temperature rating for an expedition sleeping bag depends on the conditions you expect to encounter. It's important to consider both the lowest temperatures you might face and your personal comfort level. A sleeping bag with a lower temperature rating will provide more warmth, but you should also factor in the insulation type and your sleeping habits to ensure a good night's sleep.
Expedition sleeping bags are typically made from either down or synthetic materials. Down is known for its excellent insulation properties and compressibility, making it lightweight and easy to pack. Synthetic materials, on the other hand, offer better moisture resistance and retain warmth even when wet, making them a practical choice for unpredictable weather conditions.
Yes, there are different styles of expedition sleeping bags designed for various activities and environments. Some bags are tailored for extreme cold, while others are more suitable for milder conditions. Additionally, features like zipper length, shape (mummy vs. rectangular), and added ventilation options can cater to specific uses, such as mountaineering, backpacking, or camping.
The weight of an expedition sleeping bag is crucial for long treks, as it directly impacts your overall pack weight and comfort during travel. Lighter bags are easier to carry, especially over long distances, but it's essential to balance weight with warmth and durability. Opting for a sleeping bag that offers a good warmth-to-weight ratio can enhance your experience without compromising on comfort.
Durability is a key factor when selecting an expedition sleeping bag, as it needs to withstand rugged conditions and frequent use. Look for bags made with high-quality fabrics that resist abrasions and tears, as well as reinforced seams. Additionally, consider the bag's insulation type and how it holds up over time, especially in challenging environments where wear and tear are more likely.
