No need for a high spin ball.. just like to land on greens. distance seems good, but the feel of a lot of distance ball on the putter face feel `` slappy '' to me. this feels like urethane and i like

I am loving the Taylor Made golf ball. The TP5's are a little too expensive for me; so, I went with the Distance+ balls. A big difference in how long and straight I hit the ball. I used to play with a Kirkland ball( I was told it is built similar to a ProV1. The TaylorMade ball is so much better.

It ’s a low compression ball that provides good distance for medium swing speeds. ... Great distance, feel and checks well on the green. ... Great distance and spin

I do n't think the other reviewers played this golf ball because it is an excellent overall ball. I have a ball speed between 150 to 165 mph and this ball is 3 to 5 yards longer than my current ProV1. The ball tracks true in head and side winds and has an excellent, high flight that I love. Around the greens the ball checks easily on really short chips but also stops with a yard or two of roll out when I attack the pin. The feel is outstanding from tee to green. I think people are reacting to a price point without ever playing the ball. If you care about improving your game buying good equipment is an investment, not a cost. Dropping strokes off my scorecard is important to me and the LA Golf Ball helped me do that. I think it is worth every penny.
5
Ocgolf
Great ball, I do n't think the people that gave this ball a negative review actually played the ball. This ball does a lot of great things! I am amazed at how well they made this. The only draw back is the price tag vs the prov1x 1) Great durability hitting trees, cart path or sand did n't effect the cover at all. 2) spins great on greens. Can check just as good as prov1x 3) feels good off the putter. 4) I felt the ball was more forgiving off the tee with the driver than prox1x 5) better distance with Irons than prov1x. 6) I flight higher ball flight than prov1x. 7) felts about the same in ball flight as prov1x

Love this ball switched out my ProV1 after years in the bag. Great distance and spin rates. Get on these. Not cheap but wow they fly.
5
nealg08
Great ball. Feels like a pv1x off the tee and pv1 on the green. Worth it imo.
5
I love these balls. Great distance. A lot of spin on the greens… The only drawback I feel is one the price… They are the most expensive ball out there right now. And then I do feel they scuff and Mark up easily.. I don ’ t think they ’ re quite as resilient as some other balls. But I love them and I ’ ve played them for several rounds. It may be hard to step away from them.

Honestly, I feel like these golf balls are the best value for new golfers or golfers like me, who are only slightly less than terrible. The StraightFli feature does n't really make a huge difference in the ball flight, but I do think it helps the ball fly maybe 5% straighter. Which can be the difference between landing in the tall grass or losing it in the woods. Compared to many other brands, MaxFli is the best price point for golfers like myself.

Certified skeptic here, but I gained a consistent club difference with the driver at my home course. The added bonus is these balls fly STRAIGHT. Maybe a couple yards gained with iron swings but I 've never hit anything more straight. Full disclosure.... my normal drives end up 225 to 230 and my stock 7 iron carry is about 145ish.( Humility)

The Mizuno Pro X Golf Balls deliver impressive distance and control. With advanced core technology, they provide great distance off the tee while maintaining accuracy and spin. The urethane cover offers excellent greenside control, giving you confidence with approach shots and chips. Durability is another strong point, as the cover holds up well over multiple rounds. Went in to get the typical Prov- 1 as everyone would does. And I was given a Mizuno ball from a friend to hit and was surprised how it played and felt. Went to Golf Galaxy a week later and they had a buy two get one free deal. The cost of this ball from the Prov- 1 was a$ 2 dollar per dozen difference. And with the get one Dozen free deal it was a no brainer. That being said I truly feel like these are right up there with the Prov's, TPX's, and Callaway golf balls. I have been playing this ball for years and I love it. It ’s a solid ball that goes a long way with both driver and irons. When I ’ m swinging well I always get my carry numbers going into greens. Whenever I try another ball I do not get the numbers I normally get with Velocity. Once you get used to how the ball reacts around the green( lobs and bump and runs) you will know how to play this ball. It ’s long and has a consistent ball flight.

I received a sample sleeve of the 2025 model. The ball performed well off the tee with driver and also off the irons on approach shots. Adam12172
These golf balls are top- tier. Off the tee, they deliver great distance with a very solid, responsive feel. The ball flight is consistent and predictable, which has helped my accuracy with both driver and irons. Around the green, they perform just as well — the feel is soft and controlled without being overly mushy, and they roll extremely true on the putting surface. The Triple Track alignment is one of my favorite features. It genuinely helps line up putts more confidently and has made a noticeable difference on short putts. Durability has also been impressive; the cover holds up well after full rounds with very little wear. Overall, this is an excellent golf ball that combines performance, forgiveness, and confidence- boosting alignment in one package. Highly recommend.

I purchased the new Chrome Soft to see if there was a difference from my older Chrome Soft golf ball. I enjoyed the flight off of the driver, I need to measure to see the improvement but it looks like there is a distance improvement. The ball flight from the irons was great and the action on the green acted the manner in which I wanted it to. The putting was great in that it had a great feel and roll, resulting in me making 8 one putts on my first round.
5
gary b
I read a lot of reviews about this 2026 version. I am a senior trying to reclaim some lost distance. I found one reviewer, youtube, who found 5mph increase in ball speed over the previous version with his driver. So I field tested it during a round against the new 2026 AVX. The 2026 chrome soft, for me, was consistently at least 10- 15 yards longer than the AVX. Sort of fits with that 5mph increase review. I am happy.

When selecting golf balls for distance and accuracy, consider features such as a low compression core, which can enhance distance, and a dimple pattern that promotes better aerodynamics. Additionally, look for balls with a soft cover that can provide better feel and control around the greens. These elements combined can help improve your overall performance on the course.
The materials used in golf balls can significantly impact their performance. For instance, a urethane cover tends to offer more spin and control, while a surlyn cover may provide greater durability and distance. Understanding the material composition can help you choose a ball that aligns with your playing style and goals.
Dimple design plays a crucial role in the aerodynamics of golf balls, affecting how they travel through the air. A well-designed dimple pattern can reduce drag and increase lift, allowing the ball to achieve greater distance. Additionally, the right dimple configuration can enhance stability, contributing to more accurate shots.
Yes, certain golf balls are designed to perform better under specific playing conditions. For example, softer balls may excel in cooler weather, providing better feel and control, while firmer balls can be advantageous in warmer conditions, maximizing distance. Understanding the conditions you typically play in can help you select the most suitable ball.
The construction of a golf ball, including the number of layers, can significantly influence its performance. Multi-layer balls often provide a balance of distance and control, while two-piece balls are typically designed for maximum distance. Knowing the construction type can help you choose a ball that meets your specific needs on the course.
