We fish in Montana in the spring, and this is the jacket to have for all the afternoon thunderstorm's. it is a must have.

Awesome. High quality. Fits perfectly. Love it. Better in person.

You can wear it as a raincoat, and the food is adjustable. The sleeves are long, adding extra protection from heavy wind and sun lights. The color suits fishing, especially nymph fishing, protecting the rod hand. There are 5 pockets for iPhone, sunglasses, and an extra close. The total space is enormous, yet the appearance is very smart looking. It is very lightweight. It suits me for traveling, too.

Would highly recommend the Simms G3 guide Jacket. Super impressed with how comfortable, warm and dry. This jacket makes long days on the water, casting and reeling in bass that much better.

I love my Guide Classic Wading Jacket. It keeps me dry without the bulk. The 2 large front pockets are very helpful and roomy. Thanks Simms!

Best rain jacket made! Holds up thru lots of wear and tear! Fleece lined collar is clutch in nasty weather. And the lack of extra pockets is better For that nasty weather as well.

I 've had this jacket for several years, use it as a steelhead guide on the Clearwater River. I absolutely love it. I bought a G3 jacket last year and while it's also a great jacket, I find myself still using my old Guide Classic everyday. I just like the way it feels for some reason, and it has been used! I 'm 6' 1 '', 215 and the XL fits great, but remember, this jacket is probably 5 years old. I 'm guessing I wear it at least 100 days a year.

Frequently Asked Questions For Guide Jackets

When choosing a guide jacket, consider features such as waterproofing, breathability, and insulation. Look for adjustable cuffs and hoods for a customizable fit, as well as pockets for storage. Additionally, ensure that the jacket allows for a full range of motion, which is essential for outdoor activities.

Guide jackets are typically made from durable, weather-resistant materials such as nylon or polyester. Many also incorporate advanced technologies like Gore-Tex for enhanced waterproofing and breathability. Insulation materials can vary, with options ranging from synthetic fills to down for added warmth.

Yes, guide jackets are designed for versatility and can be suitable for various outdoor activities, including fishing, hiking, and camping. Their durable construction and weather-resistant features make them ideal for unpredictable conditions. However, it's important to choose a jacket that aligns with the specific demands of your intended activity.

To find the right size for a guide jacket, it's best to consult the sizing chart provided by the manufacturer. Measure your chest, waist, and hips, and compare these measurements to the chart. Keep in mind that layering may affect fit, so consider how you plan to wear the jacket when selecting a size.

Insulated guide jackets are designed to provide additional warmth, making them ideal for colder conditions, while non-insulated jackets are typically lighter and more breathable, suitable for milder weather. The choice between the two depends on the climate and the level of activity you anticipate. For variable conditions, layering with a non-insulated jacket can offer flexibility.
