[ I came across this jacket when searching for a synthetic alternative to my down jacket for backpacking. And while it's maybe just a little too heavy and bulky for my ultralight goals, I bought it because I liked it so much in general( tried in on in a store, bought it on Mossejaw). I 've also had it out in light rain for half an hour or so, and nothing soaked in. So it really is at least a little water repellent. Only con is, I do n't like the double, left- handed zipper, but I 'll get used to it. And who knows, maybe I 'll end up bringing it on a backpacking trip, since I like it so much. [ I love my new coat! It is warm, has deep soft pockets and a good hood. I also like that it has snaps in the front, not velcro, which always catches on scarves and clothing. I usually buy a size 4 but bought this in an 8 so it does run small.

[ This is the warmest coat I ’ ve ever owned, perfect for cold winter walks. At first I was looking at petite sizes, but the only colors available were black or charcoal. I decided to get the color ‘ prophecy ’ and, even though I ’ m short( 5 ’ 2 ”), the regular size 6 fit fine. The sleeves were just a bit long, not too long. I ’ m extremely happy with my new coat!
