I got this knife as a 16th birthday present in 2010 from Dick's in Fairfax, Va. This is the fixed blade I learned to sharpen with, cleaned everything from catfish to turkey with. I have also used it while doing food prep as well. It is pretty easy to sharpen up and holds an edge well enough. It is sturdy and shows its wear but I will be able to pass it down through my family eventually. I like the sheath, it just rides a little high on the belt. The sheath drains well if you 're out in wet conditions. It is not a great bushcraft knife, but a good all rounder. Overall I would recommend this knife to anybody looking for a good classic knife that wo n't hurt your wallet too bad.

[ I own smaller models in the Leatherman line( Crunch, Charge, Juice) as well as a Victorinox Classic. The Surge is by far the heaviest multitool, perhaps a bit too much to use as EDC unless you are using the larger pliers all the time. The scissors are the best in a multitool or knife: smooth spring action, long blades, not finicky or flimsy. Top recommendation if you need this size of multitool.

[ I had a first generation WAVE multi- tool before. I loved it dearly. It had everything one could possibly ask for. I used it during my time in the military and well into my civilian life. Never once had a problem with it at all because Leatherman usually( and for good reason) means quality. I was heartbroken when it was stolen from me. Kind of felt like losing an old friend, really. [ I bought this knife because it reminded me of the Buck 110 my old man gave me as a gift when I was a kid. I liked that gift a lot and used that knife for many many years. I always hoped Buck would remake a high quality modern version of the 110 model. Well Benchmade beat them to it. The knife opens and closes butter smooth. This knife is very similar to the Benchmade 940 but with a nostalgic appearance. I love the axis lock. I love how this knife looks. My only complaints about this knife is the finish is pretty slick( not much traction on the knife) and and the wood scales do n't sit perfectly flush with the aluminum. For quite a few years now I have treated myself to a new Twitch II for the holidays. This year, when I read that the Twitch III had been released, I just had to have one! The slim profile fits nicely in your front pocket. The assisted open is lightning fast. While I wasn ’ t so sure if I liked the lock position in front of the blade, it does allow for one handed closing.
