I have been fishing for over 40 years, used a lot of traditional blades plus several electric knives, but nothing has made the job so much fun until now. The Bubba Fillet Knife is comfortable to hold, engineering to allow you to grip it optimally for all the tasks, and goes through a fish like a knife through soft butter. Well done Bubba blade; this is a game changer.

I bought this knife to fillet panfish with, I used it multiple times during this past winter to fillet dozens of crappies and other pannies. I then brought the knife with me to Missouri for a goose hunt this spring. The knife removes the breasts from the bone with ease. I now carry this knife with me alot when I am grilling and preparing food. The handle is up the bubba quality and the knife is second to none. I will buy more Bubba's because of my experience with this knife!!

Bought one as a present for my father. After using it a few times, I needed one for myself. Cleaned mainly walleye with it and a few perch so far and it does a great job. I was very impressed with the overall package as a whole. 4 blades, 2 lithium batteries, charger and case. The case is super nice and very well thought out, everything has a really nice snug fit. Highly recommend this product. I have other Bubba blades and just like those knives this one did not disappoint!

5 Converted electric knife
I am 40 and always used straight blades. I got this to make things easier when catching lots of pan fish with my son. We got 6 walleye and sauger the other day and tried this out! Cuts amazing, and if it ’s possible is almost to sharp. The blades made quick work no issues. Battery has plenty of power, oversized handle fits great for even smaller hands, and cut off great filets. very minimal waste of meat even with this being my first time filtering with electric. I ’ ll never go back. Thanks for quality BUBBA!

Had the knife now for a few years, it keeps its edge even for a cooler full of fish. Never had a problem with it. The handle is soft but firm and big. Great job at skinning fish and deboneing from yellow tails to wahoos. I Have the hole family of BUBBAS and they are all great.

Frequently Asked Questions For High Carbon Steel Fillet Knife

High carbon steel fillet knives are known for their exceptional sharpness and edge retention, making them ideal for precise filleting tasks. They can easily slice through fish and other delicate proteins with minimal effort. Additionally, they tend to be more durable than stainless steel options, allowing for long-term use in both professional and home kitchens.

High carbon steel fillet knives generally offer superior sharpness and edge retention compared to stainless steel knives. However, they may require more maintenance to prevent rust and corrosion. While stainless steel knives are often more resistant to moisture, high carbon steel knives can provide a finer edge for detailed work, making them a preferred choice for filleting.

When choosing a high carbon steel fillet knife, consider the blade length, flexibility, and handle comfort. A longer blade may be better for larger fish, while a more flexible blade can help with intricate cuts. Additionally, look for a handle that provides a secure grip, especially when working with slippery materials.

Yes, high carbon steel fillet knives are suitable for both freshwater and saltwater fish. Their sharp blades can handle the different textures and densities of various fish types. However, it's important to clean and dry the knife thoroughly after use in saltwater to prevent corrosion and maintain its performance.

To maintain the sharpness of a high carbon steel fillet knife, regularly hone the blade with a honing steel after each use. It's also advisable to use a whetstone for more extensive sharpening when necessary. Additionally, always clean and dry the knife immediately after use to prevent rust and ensure longevity.
