I ’ m a long time Chaco ’s fan and former river guide. This is my first pair without the toe strap. It took a little getting used to and I really like them. The straps are a bit too long for me. I think I ’ ll sow a fold in the slack strap.

I have worn chacos for years and years, and since moving to Hawaii that is ALL I wear. I usually have a black w/toe loop for the beach, and a fancier blue mix toe loop for town, dinner, etc. I love the new blue one. it might be the lighter sole on the bottom but the straps move easily and I can adjust and re- adjust at will.( they also sip out of adjustment but I do n't mind since I can fix them any time.). Love the new color too.

Slipped these on and they felt like coming home. Honestly, the straps feel softer, the grip is sturdy, and I know these are outdoor sandals that will last YEARS. I wear a size 7 in all sandals and casual shoes. 7. 5 in anything athletic for a bit more toe room. 7 regular fits true to size and comparatively to my Z3s purchased in 2015, which also has the old vibram outsole, they are the same size and shape foot bed. Photos for reference, both womens 7. Obviously my oldies needed a revamp and still plan to get them re soled but I couldn ’ t wait and had to experience the 6x the grip!
