I bought these for shin guards for softball( pitcher), after getting drilled in the thigh last season, I know it's matter of time before I take one in the shins. I 'm 5' 10 '' and went the 15 '' guards and they fit quit well. They cover a few inches above the knee and right above the top of my cleats. Very light weight so they do n't slow you do n't while running. Highly recommend for shin protection, hockey or softball.

However, the area between the thighs is prone to tearing, but this is a flaw in most softer goalie shorts when they are worn for a long time. I just sewed it back up with a needle and thread and they were as good as new. The best part about these shorts is the feminine- style groin protector. It is unusual to have these included, but it is worth it. That piece of plastic and foam has saved me from so many bruises in the four years I used them and I missed it in the year without.
