[ I bought this a few months ago and have been using it for PNW daysails and rows. It works as expected, materials have held up and looks pretty great. I prefer it over the stohlquist edge because it's center- zip, has two pockets so I can keep the phone in one and the keys in the other and avoid scratches, and is a bit more streamlined on the figure. The only minor negative is the handwarmers pockets are tight for my bigger hands when I have items in the pocket, but still appreciated.

I run a busy rental outfit. Our guests come in all shapes and sizes. The Outfitter Universal is our go to pfd. It fits pretty much all adults the big ones down to the 125 pounders. The 6 adjustable straps are long enabling us to fit the bigger guests and they cinch down to smaller chests( 125 pound). One of the great uses of the 6 adjustable straps is our guest bodies often are not the athletic types. Some are big up top, some big in the middle and some are big down lower. PROS: Light& Comfy), Easily converts from auto to manual. Straw allows easy add and release of a little or a lot of air, as desired. Gram weight of CO2 cylinder( 24g) is TSA compliant for flying( must be 28g or less& go in carry- on, not checked). Make sure you 're reading GRAM and not mLiter on package. CONS: If inflated at all, the vest rides up a bit when I 'm vertical. I 'll devise webbing loops to go around thighs and connect to waist strap to improve. We had no confidence in the cheaper straw- operated vests that baked in our attic for 8 years. This year, being 57 and 67 y. o. and wanting to go further out, we upgraded. This is only vest I found with 1) cylinder small enough for TSA- rules AND 2) switches from auto to manual AND 3) has a straw. Rearming kit sold at Dicks too, but must be picked- up in store( maybe Amazon's different). It includes new CO2 cylinder, green Ready Clip, and yellow Bobbin( bobbin is needed in auto mode, because it dissolves when wet to trigger inflation). Clear and precise written instructions were all I needed to convert to manual. As to cost;$ 120 is worth it, AND in manual mode, I do n't think I ’ ll need to rearm unless I pull the 'inflate' tab.( On a fun note, inflate tab hanging at waist is labelled JERK, and it, so I ’ m essentially wearing a JERK name tag;-)) I ca n't speak to how easily it auto- inflates, but we ’ re intentionally submerging, so we don ’ t want auto- trigger. [ I ’ ve used this little stick of dynamited now a real life rescue on the Arkansas in high water where I needed to get to my bag fast. This should not however be your only throw line if you ’ re running a larger craft, but makes a great supplement to a longer, more robust line. On thing I would add is that there is ample belt length. To much for most people and you will want to cut off the excess( hot knife) Your local climbing shop should do this for you for free if they ’ re cool. Maybe pick up a dedicated “ z- drag ” line while you ’ re there. I recommend static line as the rope in your throw bag is dynamic and will lose some of its stretch( which you want when it ’s time to go fishing for your buddies) if you use it for unpinning a “ wrapped ” boat. The main negative thing is that the position of the safety release on the belt is not adjustable and will be in an awkward( and maybe hard to get to) if you choose to ware this puppy “ appendix carry ” which I do when paddling a ducky. As with most things, this can be overcome with practice. In closing, get proper instruction, make practicing rescue skills a regular part of your time on the water. Someone ’s life could be in the balance. Thanks for reading my book

During the winter months, when I ’ m out on the water, I prefer wearing a foam PFD instead of my inflatable, and this one is great! The back is netting instead of solid fabric, so it keeps your back from getting overheated like other vests. Ive utilized the Lure Angler 2 PFD for the last 4 years. It has plenty of storage for quick access gear IE hooks, weights, phone etc. It is light weight, breathable and has plenty of adjustment for any size angler.
