When they first arrived in the mail they were way smaller than expected and I was kind of shocked, but as soon as I started using them they became my favorite carabiners yet. They handle so easily in your hand and the screwgate is super smooth.

Because I really liked how the gates felt whilst clipping. I Used this product mostly for lead climbing and the extra length really helped in some of the tricky positions you get into. Great price, good quality. some people say they are kinda heavy, but if you are climbing under 5. 12.... the minimal weight difference probably does n't make that much of a difference.

well crafted, light, confidence building. Used in Upper Pennisula climbs and down in Wisco.

I Loke that it is easy to use with gloves on due to there size. The solid gate wake it easy to take from the gear loop and the wire gate save on weight. I like them for ice climbing. In summer I use lighter draws with small carabiners. I would like to see those draws with a 15- 18cm dogbone. Short draws are nice for some sport route, but then I personnaly use ligther draws.

We just purchased a bunch of new gear for our outdoor adventure summer camp, Missoula Outdoor Learning Adventures, including stoppers, cams, rope, ATC's, locking biners, harnesses, etc. As owner, BD is the clear choice for me when I 'm putting other people's children( and my own!) on the rock. We 've been using BD gear for 20+ years, I 've never been disappointed, and I always feel confident sending groups out to climb. With excellent attention to details of safety and functionality, BD earns a 5 star rating from me.

A keylock nose carabiner features a smooth, snag-free design that prevents the gate from catching on ropes or gear. This design is particularly beneficial for reducing the risk of accidental opening during use. Unlike traditional carabiners with a hooked nose, keylock versions provide a more streamlined experience, making them ideal for climbing and other outdoor activities.
Keylock nose carabiners offer several advantages for climbers, including enhanced safety and ease of use. Their snag-free design allows for quick clipping and unclipping, which can be crucial during climbs. Additionally, they tend to be lighter than other carabiners, making them a popular choice for those looking to minimize gear weight.
Yes, keylock nose carabiners are versatile and suitable for various climbing styles, including sport climbing, trad climbing, and alpine climbing. Their design helps prevent accidental openings, making them a reliable choice for both beginners and experienced climbers. Depending on the specific activity, climbers may choose different locking mechanisms or shapes to best suit their needs.
Keylock nose carabiners are typically made from durable materials such as aluminum or steel, which offer strength and resistance to wear. Aluminum carabiners are lighter and often preferred for climbing, while steel options provide added durability for heavy-duty applications. The choice of material can affect the carabiner's weight, strength rating, and overall performance.
Choosing the right keylock nose carabiner involves considering factors such as the type of climbing you will be doing, the weight of the carabiner, and the locking mechanism. It's important to select a carabiner that meets the strength requirements for your specific activities. Additionally, evaluating the size and shape can help ensure it fits well with your gear and provides the functionality you need.
Yes, keylock nose carabiners can be used for a variety of purposes beyond climbing, including camping, hiking, and securing gear. Their snag-free design makes them useful for attaching items without the risk of tangling. However, it's essential to ensure that the carabiner's strength rating is appropriate for the intended use to ensure safety and reliability.
