I purchased this today. I applied it like I would any other leather conditioner. I was pleasantly surprised. I had found one of my grown children ’s gloves behind a cabinet in the garage. My kids are grown now. So, this thing had been there for a minute. It was dried out and terribly old looking. I got out some saddle soap and cleaned the mitt then later applied some dark brown leather dye to get it back to a “ healthy ” color. I applied the mizuno strong oil last. I was pleasantly surprised. I ’ ve heard some say on here that you have to heat it. You do not. Apply it with a soft rag like you are polishing boots. It don ’ t over oil and went into the leather nicely. No, it won ’ t magically break in a new glove. Leather doesn ’ t work that way. For the price it was a great buy. I do leatherwork as a hobby and had leather softeners and conditioners around but I wanted to try a purpose specific branded product for baseball mitts. Well, I think I will use this on my other leather projects as well that need that final little treatment before the project can be called “ done ”. Btw, I ’ m not an employee, not paid for this nor am I even a regular Dick ’s customer. This will have me returning to their store.

I much prefer good old fashioned glove oil to glove butter or other similar softening rubs or agents that leave a residue. Have been using Rawlings Glovolium since I was a kid& it has always worked best.
