[ I have n't used it yet, full disclosure, since it did n't rain much during our climbing trip. However, I did cover my new Osprey Zealot 45L climbing pack to make sure this cover fits. The cover packs up really nicely in it's own pouch; the pouch, in turn, is sewn onto the raincover, so you won 'd lose it, which is a nice touch. There was a little looseness, which is n't a big deal. In fact, I think I might be able to drape a 50- 70m climbing rope outside and still squeeze it in the cover, if I really was in a pinch, so that is a plus. Overall, solid and I hope I never have to use it( but certainly great to have, just in case!).

I 've barely had this a month and it's already a favorite. If you see other review from me, you 'll get that I 'm obsessed with the TENCEL selections, this is no exception. I have no shortage of Carhartt jackets of varying weights. The cut of this is very flattering, these pants weight is perfect for spring and summer nights, or chilly days. It's still breathable, yet a nice layer to keep the chill off. I got black and thought I would regret it due to how other collect dog fur and random fuzz, but the smoothness of this fabric attracts less lint/hair and when it does get in there, it's far easier to brush off. The stiffness of other Carhartt jackets does not exist with this one, that stiffness serves its purpose, so just know that before buying. This is durable, but not as heavy duty it's perfect for general work and for going out. The flexibility is phenomenal and. I greatly appreciate that the sleeves allow for larger arms or layering without being balloons, I would n't be able to wear a sweater under it, but long sleeves and flannels fit perfectly without bunching. Seriously, they knocked it out of the park with this jacket from looks to fit to function. I 'm very tempted to grab the green as well and will watch for more colors.

I bought this jacket about a week ago and have really put it to the test. It has been below freezing every day since getting it and this week it dropped to- 20F/- 29C. With only a long sleeve shirt on( and some snow pants) I can comfortably walk around even in the- 20F/- 29C with the jacket zipped all the way up and hood on. Speaking of the hood, it is amazingly puffy and warm. I live in the northern Midwest( in the US) so there is a lot of wind and this jacket does an amazing job of stopping the wind, with gusts up to 60mph I have n't felt the wind cut through once. I love how many pockets there are. The outside pockets are very warm and puffy. Even just wearing knit gloves in- 20F/- 29C I was able to put my hands in the pockets and they would warm back after about 5min. The pockets are VERY puffy though which does cut down a little on how much stuff you can hold in them( especially without them bulging out too much). I typically have my keys, chapstick, and light knit gloves in one pocket and my phone in the other and my hands still fit just fine, but I personally think the pockets could 've been a tiny bit deeper to make up for the space lost to the puff. This jacket is not particularly breathable, so if you are doing any moderate exercise, like uphill hiking or snow shoveling, you will get hot in it. For me at least, this jacket is a little too warm to wear while snow shoveling if it is above 20F without unzipping all the way, but great for just walking around the city or light trail walks with the dogs. Overall, if you end up in weather that is consistently below freezing this jacket is definitely a great buy and I would highly recommend. I bought a Medium and can comfortably fit a knit sweater or hoodie underneath. I could 've fit into a Small but I wanted the extra space to layer and the small was snug. I bought these in white in XL and then in black in L. I like pants loose at the waist and need a long rise. I also got the short length, which sit at my instep( 5' 4 ''). The black ones in the L fit better as to the rise and volume of the legs, but I prefer the looser waist on the XL. I wish designers would give up the hourglass myth of women's bodies: If one needs a L for the hips, one probably does not have a 32 '' waist. The drawstring makes these wearable. Both are comfortable, though, and very light. So I will probably wear the black ones out more, and keep wearing the white ones around the house. Very comfortable style and fabric. I find myself wearing these most days in the Florida warm temps. Very nicely made, as well. I marked `` runs small '' because the elastic at the waist, IMO, should be about 2 inches larger. This is my second Ghost Whisperer jacket. My first one is about six years old and is still in great shape, save for a couple places where the stitching is coming undone( I might talk to warranty about that...). I also have a StretchDown jacket, but I prefer the Ghost Whisperer, as it provides better protection against the wind. I can layer the Ghost Whisperer with a light merino wool sweater and be plenty warm in temperatures well below freezing. It's also perfect for traveling since it's so light and warm. I love that I can stuff it into its own pocket and use it as a pillow on the airplane. It was a no- brainer to take it with on a three week trip to Ireland and France in the early shoulder season. I would buy again in a heartbeat.

I have used the Ghost Whisper Jacket for about 2 years underneath a different coat which is The North Face Summit 3 The coat fits me a little snug with a shirt over a T shirt but it works fine with just a t shirt which has held up with 2 years of use fine. I get Cold easily and do not walk fast due to diabetic neuropathy. Mainly the use of jacket is for around town or if a building is too cold. On hikes just today I used it underneath the North Face Summit 3 when it was 55 degrees along with a T shirt since I stand a lot when I am on hikes.. I had no problems with snugness Some of the time I just stood and looked at nature which would make a person more sensitive to cold. Concerning the Mountain Hardware 2 series I can not make a comparison. Overall the Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisper Jacket has worked fine underneath my North Face size small jacket. Since I am a a size small person the Mountain Hardware Ghost Jacket is a size small. I am five foot 7 inches and weigh 170 to 175 pounds. I highly recommend the Mountain Hardware Ghost 2 series Jacket.
