[ My first trip with my new Tungsten 1 Person tent was to Big Bend Ranch State Park last November. Temps ranged from lower 80 ’s during the day to lower 40 ’s at night. The tent weighed almost half what my previous one did. I was really happy about that. It also sets up in only a couple of minutes even when using the rain fly. On warmer nights the Tungsten was perfect without the fly. Great views of a star filled sky that way as well. On the coolest nights I was super comfortable with the fly on to help retain some heat. I was pleasantly surprised to find the air circulation was good enough to almost prevent all condensation from building up inside the fly. I am 6 ’ 2 ” and there was plenty of room for me and my long sleeping bag plus all of the gear that makes me happy to have close at hand. Don ’ t misunderstand though; it is definitely a one person tent. After those 4 nights I would definitely recommend this tent. It has all of the quality you would expect from a premium brand like Marmot. Get one for yourself without fear of disappointment.

I ’ m a mountain guide currently sitting in the rain in this tent right now. I ’ ve lived in it all summer long, and I must say, it ’s done a great job. The fly keeps me nice and dry and the weight keeps me happy on the uphill. Never thought I would be a 1p tent kind of gal, but this tent changed my mind! Great option if you ’ re looking for a home base to work from if you work outside. Highly recommend.

I 've used this tent about 9 times so far and have loved it! Kept me dry in the rain a few times, and feels spacious for a 2- person tent. The colors are super fun and I love the attachments for the rain fly- the buckles make it super easy to take on& off. I 'm 5, 9 '' and love that there's enough space by my feet for a few items or small pack. It's been my go- to since I got it in the spring!

[ The room is larger than the standard, but packed lighter and smaller. Quality in materials and construction is noticeable everywhere.

[ I have an older version of this tent, but was recently camping and reminded again of how amazing it is. I left the rain fly tucked open and it rained while I was away and when I came back everything was dry. I have had a version of this tent for over 12 years. I will buy only this tent. I am consistently left completely dry when others are complaining of some leak or puddle in their tent. Even if my bag or something is left pushed up against the tent wall. Which often happens as I camp with small children. This has been our go to family tent and it has never failed us. I have also back packed with it. Great tent, highly recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions For Marmot Tungsten Tent

When selecting a tent for camping, consider factors such as size, weight, and weather resistance. Look for features like a durable rainfly, good ventilation, and a sturdy frame to withstand various conditions. Additionally, check for ease of setup and the presence of storage pockets for organization. A tent with a footprint can also provide extra protection for the tent floor and enhance its longevity.

To determine the right size tent for your needs, consider the number of people who will be using it and the amount of gear you plan to store inside. Tents are typically categorized by the number of occupants they can comfortably accommodate, so choose a size that allows for some extra space. Additionally, think about the type of camping you will be doing; for backpacking, a lightweight and compact option may be ideal, while car camping might allow for a larger, more spacious tent. Lastly, consider the weather conditions and the need for additional room for gear or pets.

High-quality tents are typically made from durable materials that provide weather resistance and longevity. Common fabrics include nylon and polyester, often treated with waterproof coatings to keep moisture out. The tent poles are usually constructed from lightweight aluminum or fiberglass, offering strength without adding excessive weight. Additionally, high-quality tents may feature reinforced seams and durable zippers to enhance overall performance and reliability.

Lightweight tents are designed to enhance the backpacking experience by minimizing the overall weight of your gear, making it easier to carry over long distances. They typically feature compact designs and materials that balance durability with weight savings, allowing for efficient packing. Additionally, lightweight tents often offer quick setup and takedown, which is beneficial for those on the move. This combination of portability and convenience makes them a popular choice for backpackers seeking to travel light without sacrificing shelter quality.

Different tent designs can significantly impact ventilation and comfort during your outdoor experience. Tents with multiple mesh panels or vents allow for better airflow, reducing condensation and keeping the interior cooler. Additionally, the shape and structure of the tent can influence how air circulates; for instance, dome-shaped tents often provide more headroom and space for movement. Choosing a design that balances ventilation with weather protection is essential for a comfortable camping experience.

The typical lifespan of a camping tent can vary based on factors such as the materials used, frequency of use, and how well it is maintained. Many tents can last anywhere from three to ten years with proper care, including regular cleaning and storing them dry. Tents made from higher-quality materials may offer greater durability and resistance to wear and tear. Additionally, using a footprint can help protect the tent floor and extend its lifespan.

When choosing a tent, it's important to consider the weather conditions you may encounter during your outdoor activities. Look for features such as waterproof materials and ventilation options to handle rain and humidity. Additionally, consider the tent's ability to withstand wind and temperature fluctuations, as well as its insulation properties for colder climates. Understanding the typical weather patterns of your intended camping location can help you select a tent that meets your needs.

Yes, certain tents are designed to perform better in specific seasons. Three-season tents are versatile and suitable for spring, summer, and fall, offering a balance of ventilation and weather protection. Four-season tents are built to withstand harsher winter conditions, featuring sturdier materials and designs to handle snow and strong winds. Additionally, some tents are designed for ultralight backpacking, focusing on weight savings while still providing adequate shelter for various weather conditions.

A tent footprint serves as a protective layer between the tent floor and the ground, helping to prevent wear and tear from rough surfaces, sharp objects, and moisture. It can enhance the durability of your tent by reducing the risk of damage and extending its lifespan. Additionally, a footprint can provide extra insulation and help keep the tent clean, making it easier to set up and pack away. Many campers find that using a footprint adds an extra level of comfort and protection during their outdoor adventures.

To ensure your tent is durable and weather-resistant, consider selecting a model made from high-quality materials that are designed to withstand various weather conditions.
