I used these cleats on a turf field and came away impressed overall. I have high arches and slightly wider feet, so most cleats require a break- in period before they feel comfortable. When I first received them, they were noticeably stiff. I 'd highly recommend wearing them around the house or for a few short sessions before taking them straight onto the field. Unfortunately, I did n't have enough time to break mine in properly, and I could definitely feel the stiffness during my first game. Once on the field, however, they performed very well. The traction on turf was excellent, providing solid grip for quick cuts and changes of direction. The textured `` Gripknit '' elements on the upper also seemed to add a bit of extra control and spin on the ball when striking or passing. My only real drawbacks are the initial stiffness and the high sock collar, which can make getting your foot into the boot a little awkward until you get used to it. I also wish the upper had a slightly softer feel right out of the box. Overall, I 'd rate the Nike Phantom 6 High Academy** 4 out of 5 stars**. With a proper break- in period, they 're a comfortable, high- performing cleat with excellent traction and good ball control, especially for players who spend most of their time on turf.

[ We go through a lot of cleats in this household, and these are our absolute new favorite for any artificial grass. My son has to play on. The first time he wore them he had no complaints and no blisters, which is a first for him. One thing we did is size up a half a size and that made all the difference. Even sizing up, he did not feel like there was any difference in his ball control. Another thing we really like about these cleats is that they both have the slip and aspect, and the laces, which gives sort of the best of both worlds of options and cleats these days. They also aren ’ t as narrow as a lot of Nike cleats. My son often struggles to find Nike cleats at work because of how stiff and narrow they can be, especially the mercurials, however, the lightness and flexibility and knit on the shoe allows, his foot to slip in and feel comfortable without any pressure on the sides. He doesn ’ t have a wide foot but his foot also isn ’ t super narrow so it ’s a great in between shoe. Last, he loves the looks, which is also very important for a soccer player nowadays:) he plays 5 to 6 days a week and these are a constant in his rotation, and we will continue to buy these for all of his artificial grass play.

[ For being a “ pro ” tier option in the Phantom 6 lineup, this pair of cleats feels exceptionally premium. The Flyknit upper is super thin and flexible, making for a great feel on the ball. The shape of the cleats is nearly perfect for me, which allowed for an extremely comfortable and well fitting experience in combination with the previously mentioned upper material. Though I did not yet get to try these on their intended artificial grass surface, I can say that the soleplate feels delightful under foot in terms of being flexible in the appropriate areas and the traction still performed adequately well when being used on fairly dry natural grass. Design wise, I think the Phantom 6 line is pretty good looking in general, but this colorway does let it down just a little bit. The front area on this pair looks just fine in black and orange, but the lightish purple color in the rear is just strange. It clashes awkwardly with the rest of this pair ’s palette and being a rather light color on the Flyknit area, it stains easily when used on grass. Overall, I think these Phantom 6 Pros are a great value for their price and feel nearly on par quality- wise with their Elite counterpart. If I were going to get another pair of these, I would simply look to get a different colorway and I would also go for the “ High ” model for use on artificial grass, since the Flyknit ankle collar would prove very useful in keeping the turf pellets out of the shoes.

The lighter weight privileges speed over control, and the thinner surface in the shooting area of the foot allows for better feel of the ball. For myself as a midfielder, I prioritize control and accuracy. In those aspects, the Phantom 6 Low Elite cleats had a slight edge of the Phantom 6 Low Pro. I also want to praise the Low Pro flexibility and adaptability to my foot shape. The first time I wore it, it immediately felt like I had worn it many times before, which I appreciated. The cleats specifications may vary from player to player based on playing styles and priorities, but I still highly recommend the Phantom 6 Low Pro.

I don ’ t run trails a lot but I like having light and comfortable shoes for hikes. These are an excellent choice, the foam offers plenty of protection in rocky terrain but its not so high that you feel unstable. Very first hike with these, I came across snow and mud and am pretty happy with how it held up, great traction and no wet feet. Will probably get a customized version when that ’s available or stock up on alternate colorways.

[ I ’ ve been playing in Phantoms for a few years and this time I decided to go half- size up, as the older Phantom GX was pretty tight in the toe box. Best decision ever: this new upper is so soft and malleable to the foot, plus the extra length made it really comfortable to play in. I have wide feet and had absolutely no problems with these boots( I tried Mercurials and couldn ’ t run due to the tight fit). The FG plate is quite aggressive with bladed, high molded studs. It ’s great on the forefoot but I would not suggest it for older AG turfs( like the one I played in)- as I got stuck on the ground a few times, and got a few blisters on my first day. It does wonders on natural grass! My favorite thing about these new Phantoms is the sensation when shooting/striking the ball, this upper seems at the same time both soft and thin, making it easy to feel the ball but also not providing a totally barefoot touch, which to me can be uncomfortable on the toe box. Highly recommended if you have a wider foot but still want a lightweight, soft boot!

Somehow it feels like I 'm wearing nothing on my feet but have the most revolutionary boots on at the same time. If you like a tight, glove- like feel I would recommend going TTS but if you prefer a little more room, I recommend going a half- size up. The ball handling and accuracy is incredible on these. They designed the knit on the front upper to be sticky to provide an unreal grip on the ball. Feels almost like an unfair advantage how easy it is dribble and control the ball. I 've only played in warm, hot and slightly dewy conditions so it will be interesting to try these out in rainy conditions. The traction plate on the outsole has crazy grip on turf and even grass. It really helps with that first move when you go to cut. Pivoting has never been easier and changing directions is seamless. I love the additional boost you get from the unique design. Nothing but positive feedback for the 6's.. the only thing I would change are the colorway options, Most of them are pretty loud so I would prefer a more subtle white/silver option.

I did add a picture of the the outside left of the boot, when I received it the sole was already separating from the upper so that ’s a worry because after many games on turf I could imagine the shoes would separate from the underfoot. If I could change one thing I would like the base( 1st lace loop) to be accessible. The part that covers the lace makes it hard to pull on those to loosen the boot. Overall I love these boots and would recommend to anyone.

I ’ ve only had these shoes for a short time, but so far I ’ m very impressed. I previously wore the Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GORE- TEX and loved them, so I was a little hesitant to try something new. The fit and overall feel are similar enough that the transition has been easy, with no significant break- in period for me. I have high arches, a higher instep, and toes that like room to spread when I walk. I also tend to notice pressure points and fit issues quickly. These shoes provide a nice balance of stability and flexibility without feeling overly rigid or overly cushioned. They feel secure through the midfoot while still allowing natural foot movement, which is important for my walking/running style. For sizing reference, I wore a size 8 in my Pegasus Trail 4 GORE- TEX and chose an 8. 5 in these. I ’ ve experienced no rubbing, hot spots, or heel issues so far, and they ’ ve been comfortable from the first wear. [ Let me start by saying how comfortable these shoes are! Super easy to put on and they stay on while running! I love that they ’ re not super narrow at the toe area like some running shoes, my toes can breathe and allows me to feel more comfortable running. They have great cushion at the bottom that allow a boost/little jump when you ’ re running for support. The bottom has tracks that allow you to run on different surfaces and not slip. The grip really well. I do wish they had more color ways, as the ones they have aren ’ t my favorite but the shoe itself is definitely worth if you ’ re a cross country runner or like to run ion different surfaces. Been eyeing this shoe for a while now and got it last week! It ’s amazing. First couple of runs in it felt great. It ’s very roomy, comfortable and feels good underfoot! Paired with the injini running socks, I ’ m excited to introduce this as my new daily trainer.

One of the best updates Altra has done. Vibram sole is a noticeable upgrade with nice tread pattern- Vibram soles should be added to every model moving forward. Zero drop with medium stack- very comfortable and not sloppy. Big improvement on the tongue and heel collar. Shoe opening rounds under the ankle, where as some of the newer Altras shoes are too angled which digs into my ankle bone. Additionally, the arch seems mellow and spacious, where as some of the new Altras midsole digs into my arch, not this one. Really comfortable, and will be buying more. Of course looking forward to more colors. Only knock is the giant “ Altra ” letters on the side of the shoe…on the black shoes the lettering is grey and is hideous, so I colored in the letters with permanent black marker and looks really sleek now. A few other people on other websites have mentioned the same about the lettering. All in all, I give it a 5 star with a slight eye twitch on the branding. I think this is my new all around travel shoe. Id love to see the Torin 9 made into a waterproof version, jet black, carbon gray and dark leather brown would be cool. Noooice job Altra!

First the pros: P35 foam is infinitely superior to Ego and happy they are finally ditching it. I 'd been running in the Experience Flow 2 for a year now and knew how much better P35 is as a foam. Vibram outsole- having it on a road shoe is a fantastic addition because you can breathe on Altra's current outsoles and they will wear down. Stripped down the over engineering of the 8. That thing was a heavy mess. Very light and speedy feeling shoe. Cons: I do n't even have a wide foot and these `` standard '' fit feel as tight as Nike's. My foot ca n't splay. The tongue material is a bit annoying and can bunch. SIZING. Altra, what last are you using? I never believe people when they say size up so I ordered my usual 10. 5. Way too small. Sized up to an 11 and it's good, but I 've run the gamut between 10 to 11 from them over the years. Overall: Amazingly close to the GOAT( 4. 5) so stock up everyone because they only get this model right every 4 to 5 years

I love this shoe. While everyone is wearing Hoka and OC I remain loyal to the Nike brand because of the consistent quality and style. I would go a half size up it ’s a bit narrow in the front foot area. They are solid for walking and have amazing strong support and are great at work.

[ Fit/sizing: True to size. Apparently made with a wide toe box and forefoot area. Materials: Soft mesh/recycled fabric. Soft foam. Great for the price. Pros: Overall comfort. Durable outsole. Thick midsole. Con: Not a very protective shoe. This shoe is very comfortable straight out of the box. It has a really thick and soft midsole. The upper is made of a nice fabric that requires no break- in period. The shoe is classified as a walking shoe and I can see why. I can wear this pair throughout the day and it wo n't hurt my feet. It took a little bit of time to get used to because of the shape of the midsole. It provides a rocking effect so it might feel weird to anyone who has n't experienced that before. However, that goes away really fast. I think it's a perfect for anyone that needs an all black pair for jobs that require long periods of standing. The outsole seems very durable so far and it 'll probably make for a long life of the shoe. The cushioning is n't made of Nike's top of the line foams, but it feels very soft. It's comparable to other Nike cushioning systems. You also ca n't beat the price range. I appreciate that it's part of the Move to Zero program as well.

If I could give more stars I would! By far the most comfortable shoes I ’ ve worn since my car accident. I couldn ’ t walk for very long without pain in my knee and lower back. But these have been a game changer for me and the profession I am in requires me to be on my feet for most of my shift. I highly recommend these if you are on your feet for most of your work day or enjoy walking for leisure.
