[ My daughter is extremely happy when wearing this pair. She loves to be independent and slip them on by herself and just go. She wore these while riding her bike to going to her hip- hop dance class and not once felt uncomfortable. As all kids her age they wish it could light up but she does n't worry about that once they are on. I noticed that she is not complaining about her feet hurting like she does with other pairs that she owns. They are little big on her but with thicker socks that covers the space left and she will grow well into the shoe. The leather and materials feel like that will last a long time and will be easy to clean.

I own/have owned four pairs of heritage Red Wings. Really, I love them all and am a big fan…they ’ re perhaps my favorite brand for sentimental reasons and quality for the cost. But these I just lobe as they are the only pair that have become completely comfortable without some slight compromise of comfort. They did take some breaking in but nothing like my 877s. And now are super comfortable while providing great protection, support and durability. I have feet issues and sadly My Iron Rangers and 877s both hurt some days when wearing. These? Never. I ’ ve owned several pairs of Blundstone ’s Chelseas and these are FAR better made and superior in comfort. Bought these as soon as they came out for a busy summer. My first adventure was a Grand Canyon Rim- 2- Rim hike in July. 24+ miles in one day. These were fantastic. Perfect in the extreme heat and dried relatively quickly after a few stream crossings. I then wore these on a 24 hour( 42 mile) hike through the mountains of north Georgia. Very hot and humid, and again no issues with discomfort or blisters. Even after wading through several streams. I have over 100 miles in these and my feet were not a factor and I never thought about my shoes.

I 've been wearing Lone Peaks for a long time, and the Timp is even a step up from those other early models. Though I 've had surgery on both feet and ca n't wear a lot of other hikers, these are comfortable in all aspects. Lightweight, not too hot, good toe room, great look, quick to dry. They seem sturdy so far. Two small complaints- wish the tongue was gusseted to keep debris out, and would like a swatch of heel velcro for gaiters. But those are minor issues. I will be buying a second pair to keep on the shelf until next year or whenever these wear out. Highly recommend.

This hiking shoe is so smooth. The weight of the shoe is so light which is exactly what I need with ankle issues. I went half a step up because I wear ankle braces that fit comfortably inside the shoe. I usually wear an 11 in Altra but got 11. 5 to accommodate the ankle supports. The high top hides most of my ankle support which is nice. I highly recommend this shoe for those that are challenged physically by their feet with some mobility issues. For me it means I can enjoy more pain- fee hikes and walks around the city/country.

I have been hiking in Lone Peaks, buy they were not providing the cushion that I needed. I tried the Olympus, but they run small and ended up losing the skin and nail off one of my toes. I recently completed a 300 mile section hike of the AT and also did about 50 trail miles in the shoes to prep. I went across a lot of rock surfaces in NJ, NY, CT, and MA. I recently trekked EBC in a pair of them and would like to share my thoughts. First impressions: Light weight. Easy to put on and take off. The Footshape is there. The outsole worked well- I only slipped a few times on extremely loose dirt while descending, but never fell. The infamous ankle rubbing from the stitching is also there, but only when I was trying on with thin socks, so thick pairs of socks are highly recommended. Aesthetic wise, like many here mentioned, the leather parts are black, but the fabric parts are reflective that they appear a bit brownish grey and some parts in dark navy in certain lighting condition. Overall, they worked well and got me through the trek just fine.

Use them as hiking and backpacking shoes, 3- 4 days of light use to break them in, than a 3 day backpacking trip with substantial load, few days later a SAR trip, and a day hike. Great shoes. No hot spots, great room for my wide feet and toes and nice support. I usually wear boots with my heavy pack so was pleasantly surprised. Seem little tight first through the middle of my feet first, especially around the top, but went away after couple days of light wear. Only issue is the loop on the back. Could be slightly bigger to allow a finger to go through, would allow shoes to be put on a lot easier.

I have been running for 56 years. I have seen the development of all shoes from all brands. For me, the Timp 5 is one of the best shoes I have ever used. It just feels like running. First, pair of ultras. Used as daily road running. They replaced my saucony tempus. Thus far big fan of altras. Toe box is a game changer. Have a little roll when running that feels nice.

Training runs. Just the right cushion with a nice bit of responsiveness. Ran 740k in FWD Experience and jumped straight into Flow. Excellent shoes.

I 'll admit that I have always thought Altra shoes were not for me. Between the squared off toe box and the zero drop DNA; I just never gave them a chance. That all changed when they came out with the Experience collection and the move to a mid- drop ALTernative. I rushed to my local running store to try on a pair even though I did n't really even need new shoes. That 5 minute walk around the store was all it took. I am a convert- 100%. These shoes feel wonderful. No more hot spots. I can fit lightweight socks for speedwork and thicker cushion for long runs. I 've started with the road shoes but you can probably guess what my next trail shoes will be!

Very cool
Purchased these for my son before the Minecraft movie. He loves them. I purchased them a half size up so he can have for a wild. They also light up.
