These are the answer for babies with wide feet! I ordered new balance in xw for my 1 year old and we can still barely squeeze his foot in. Use them as hiking and backpacking shoes, 3- 4 days of light use to break them in, than a 3 day backpacking trip with substantial load, few days later a SAR trip, and a day hike. Great shoes. No hot spots, great room for my wide feet and toes and nice support. I usually wear boots with my heavy pack so was pleasantly surprised. Seem little tight first through the middle of my feet first, especially around the top, but went away after couple days of light wear. Only issue is the loop on the back. Could be slightly bigger to allow a finger to go through, would allow shoes to be put on a lot easier.

I have been running for 56 years. I have seen the development of all shoes from all brands. For me, the Timp 5 is one of the best shoes I have ever used. It just feels like running. I use this shoe for running mainly and love the wider toe box. It's a comfortable fit. The stack is not too high at 24 mm- I also have the escalante racer which has a 22mm stack. I am trying to progress down to minimalist shoes so the escalante 4 are a good step in that transition. I would like to see more choices from Altra with a low cushioning/ stack especially in their trail shoes. But I love that they stay loyal to the wider toe box and zero drop

I walk 7 miles a day and always would wear On Cloud X because they are the only ones that did n't hurt my feet. I have tried Hoka, Nike, On, ASICS, Reebok to name a few and since On changed their Cloud X they hurt too. I love these- they are comfortable and do n't hurt at all.

I was n't thrilled with any of the women's models/colors in wide width, so I decided to purchase the Men's Escalante 4( mens regular is equivalent to womens wide width) instead. I wear a 10- 10. 5 wide in womens and went with the mens size 9 in black/white- perfect fit. Of course I wish the color was a bit more feminine, but at least there was a neutral option! I 'm new to the wide toe box, zero drop but I 'm absolutely in love with this shoe& hope I never have to go back to traditional tennis shoes. Zero- drop requires some adjustment time- my calves have been BURNING on walks, so I 've had to slow it down. FYI I tried Flux footwear first, but they are ridiculously narrow, so I had to return( also beware their return policy). I wear my new altras for walking and strength training primarily, and I plan to wear them when I visit London for 10 days in October. So happy with my purchase overall. One critique is I 'd like to see more wide- width options for women.

Bought a few months ago—used to train in ghosts and those were a bit too neutral, but didn ’ t want something too bouncy either. These are the perfect in between( and are actually cute—rare in a more neutral shoe). I am a distance runner—half ’s usually, but have done a full marathon too. These are so great! Very stable. Sized up a half size( usually do in runners) and they fit great. Would recommend.

The Ride is one of my favourite go to shoe from Saucony. It is a true runners' shoe in the sense that it is the total package; cushioning, flexibility, and responsiveness with a touch of inherent stability. The updates of the Ride see it getting lighter, with improved cushioning and fit. I recently did a 50k rail trail race and they held up well; my legs were n't as beat up as they usually are after a long race. It is a great shoe for just about any type of run including hard tempo efforts and Marathon paced efforts. If you didnt want to spend cash on a plated trainer, then this could be a single quiver shoe for the conscientious consumer. My only concern is that the rubber on the outsole is beginning to wear quickly. Although it is likely an aesthetic issue, it is something worth pointing out. Overall, I believe the shoes will last a long time due to the amount of overall cushioning and I will continue to pile up the miles on my new Rides.

[ My daughter is extremely happy when wearing this pair. She loves to be independent and slip them on by herself and just go. She wore these while riding her bike to going to her hip- hop dance class and not once felt uncomfortable. As all kids her age they wish it could light up but she does n't worry about that once they are on. I noticed that she is not complaining about her feet hurting like she does with other pairs that she owns. They are little big on her but with thicker socks that covers the space left and she will grow well into the shoe.
