I 've been using the gore- Tex trail shoes with Currex high arch insoles for more than a year of consecutive daily running. I was doing more trail/gravel running til late winter& switched to the track for later runs. This is my first carbon plate Nikes and I ca n't believe how much faster& lighter they feel on my feet. Of course now I want to try the vapor/alphas as well. I have really high arches and it is like they made this shoe to fit me perfectly. I may end up putting my insoles in but I had not even needed them for my first week of runs in them. I 'm definitely going faster than I 'd even imagined. Great shoes. I ’ m relatively new to road racing( having done just one half marathon this year) and this is my first carbon shoe. My warm up mile was light and breezy in this shoe and my speed work was definitely faster than normal. I struggled to run slow in these shoes for my cool down mile- your feet turnover fast in these shoes. I did have to size up a half size from a 7. 5 to 8, but super pleased after just one run. I worry that the 8mm drop is a little too high for me to use on long runs tho, but we ’ ll see.

From what I 've been told, it is recommended that you take a stroll in new running shoes to warm them up and stretch them out a bit. However, I took these shoes on a run fresh out of the box and it felt great. This is not normal for me by the way. I 'm a flat- footed monster with wide feet and if the shoe does n't fit while I 'm running, it can get extremely painful. The Pegasus always seem to deliver for me. Neutral running shoes work the best for my flat feet and I 'm so happy with my purchase. I look forward to using this bad boy as my daily. I 'm 5' 1 '', and wear a 6. 5 in womens running shoes. Well. I bought 4 pairs. These are everything I was hoping for. Essentially a springy, barefoot run with great energy return. All have worn well unless I try to take them off without undoing the laces, or scrape them on concrete. I wear mine daily. I have narrow feet with exceptionally high arches. As for this model compared to the Alphafly 2 and original…they improved them tremendously. They are snug without pressure, better foam profile, and the lacing system doesn ’ t untie easily. My first run in these AF3s was a shakeout before a half marathon. Was concerned as the shoes squeaked for about 2. 5 miles but that finally subsided. I normally wear a 7. 5, but sized up to an 8 and the fit is perfect. I really like the extra room in the toebox, so I can wiggle my toes. However, the shoes do tend to run a bit narrow, so just a heads up if you have a wide foot. Shoe is true to size, may be best to half size up for ultra comfort while training. My favorite feature would be the design along with the color. The black makes it a versatile staple piece you can pair with any outfit and for me the iridescence give me the feminine touch I need to feel pretty while training!! You won ’ t regret this one!
