These are a cute upgrade to my usual Teva Mush II sandals. They 're a little `` dressier '' in comparison. They 're still flip flops, but I feel more put together in these and feel less bad about wearing them out. Still not fancy so I would n't suggest wearing these to a formal event, but for a casual event or dinner, yes. Great for day to day. I 'm an 8 1/2 but there are n't half sizes and I opted for the 9 but it fit pretty well so I put that they 're a half size too small. I do n't know if a true size 9 will wear these and find that the case but for me, being an 8 1/2, the 9s fit just right so I went up a half size. It's personal preference. I 'd recommend these. I wish I got more colors than black.

I just spent 3 weeks in the Bahamas with this sandal. It performed exceptionally well. I spent time at Atlantis water park, went on 4 fishing charter, scrambled on very jagged limestone reef, walked miles around Nassau, etc The sole is very sticky, even when wet. The sole is also very tough. I hiked on some very nasty, sharp, pointy, jagged limestone reef with no issues. I was very impressed with how well these performed.

The OHANA Palua is popular for a reason. I own many Olukai flip flops and have become keen on what separates the line up. The OHANA Palua has a softer and more pliable foot bed over the Ulele. It's even more squishy than the new Ahi Kai. The straps are also more relaxed over the top of your foot. The arch height and construction is exactly the same as the Ulele. The OHANA is slightly wider than the Ulele but not drastically. The Ohana feels a bit more luxurious and I like the coral inspired grip. These will last a few years. Sizing is tricky with Olukai. I wear a 11. 5 in a running shoe but the way they size their sandals I wear a OluKai men's 11 if I want them a bit loose and size 10 if I want a more fitted but length. Size 10 is only. 50 of a inch shorter than a 11. This one I went with a size 11 and they are a tad big but wont requier and break in like a size 10 would. I own about them all and the Ohona family might be my favorite do- it- all sandal from vacations to daily wear.

I bought the first pair two years ago and after wearing them every day all summer, I noticed the footbed was getting worn( just leaving some discoloration, not affecting performance), so I downgraded those to beach and dirt path flops and bought a second pair for my “ fancy ” flip flops.:) So I love these flip flops. They are so comfortable and don ’ t have wide, ugly straps or foot beds that get smushed flat with wear.

These are all new for OluKai in many ways. The footbed has a softer and more pliable rubber giving the entire flip flop a higher impact resistance over any terrain. The ride is almost luxurious like a custom orthotic. It has a high arch and the shoe is built a bit wider. I would say they run 1/2 size larger. I wear a size 11. 5 in running shoes and I purchased a size 11 in the Ahi Kai and are perfect. Highly recommend these as you sporty/water do- it- all flip flops. They look high end enough for nighttime but sporty enofor the beach.

No sore spots, but the `` neoprene '' padding covering the plastic triangle is cut shorter than my previous pair of Tevas and likes to fold under my foot everytime I put them on. Once straightened, it stays in place but is a little bit annoying each time I put them on.
