Bought this tent a long time ago, about fourteen years. Has held up great for that time. Ten min. set up time with two people. Hooked this tent to the back of my truck that has a cap. Worked great as a second room. I use the truck as a bedroom. Sleeve zips off for a third door option if using the tent alone. The only problem was when it rained one time and a pool formed between the cap and the tent on the sleeve. If it was on the right car maybe this would n't happen. The other thing that should be done to make set up easier is to mark the center of each tent pole. This is to mark the apex of the tent to tie the roof ties to. You will see what I mean when you set up. Would I buy this tent again? Yes. And I have never put any kind of waterproofer or seam sealer on and never had a leak.

I used the tent for the first time this past weekend and thought it was great!! My wife even enjoyed camping and I was n't sure that was possible. I heard from reviews that people said that it was hard to set up, but me and my friend set it up for the first time in the dark and only took us 10 minutes, very simple. They even have a video that shows you how to set it up, I would advise watching it first if you are unsure. Others said that it wouldnt fit back in the bag that it comes with, but again, I had no problem with it at all. The only cons were the tent pegs that came with it. They had no point at the end and bent everytime you hammered them in. I went to REI and bought some titanium tent pegs and problem was solved. The only other con was that when using the zippers, they sometimes catch the overflap fabric. Not sure how to fix it yet, but not a big concern. The tent is big and very roomy. I 'm 6' 5 '' and could walk around the tent with no problem. I have a 2004 Toyota 4Runner and the fit was perfect. Great tent, cant wait to use it again!

Love the idea of attaching this tent to my SUV. My wife and I have spent many a nights stacking stuff form the back into the front seats to make room for us in the back. This tent arrived and we headed out to go camping, first stop Holter Lake Montana, fee for camping sights vehicles on pavement tents on grass, you can imagine that we could not drive stakes into the ground when half would have to go through pavement. Headed out of Holter to camp at the Bridge where the access road to Holter meets up with the river at wolf creek canyon. Pitched the tent, pole, stakes everything and lit the barbeque and settle down for the night. Then the wind came and tent blew away. Lesson learned point the vehicle into the wind if known or possible( keep in mind, Eastern Montana is some of the windiest area in the United States. Packed up and headed home in the middle of the night. Two days later headed out to Yogo Creek Montana, found a remote site and set up camp, some wind but it was steady and we pointed vehicle into the wind. Everything else went off without a hitch, beautiful clear creek, camp fire and tent did fine in the 10 to 12 mph wind gust. One small problem, the straps that attach to the tent and come over the top of the vehicle and attach under the hood. When the wind blows is raddles those straps and makes a noise like a semi using air brakes. I will be going to the dollar store and buying some cheap pool noodles, slicing them half way and attaching them over those straps to stop this in the future. Over all glad I bought the tent, roomy and pretty easy to set up and break down.

You 'll want to make sure you have stakes or something to weigh it down with once you are set up. There's a back window that can be opened for more ventilation throughout the tent. Sand easily falls right off of the slinky nylon- like material. There was a bit of a learning curve to get it closed, but once you watch their YouTube video it really helps you get it down. Comes with storage bag and takes up barely any space in your trunk. Myself, my husband and my two kids( 7, 10) were all able to comfortably fit inside the tent together.

We bought this and used it a couple of weeks ago when we went camping. It was great! It was a nice upgrade from our short two person tent. We were able to fit a two person cot in here and also stand up, have room to change, etc. It lightly rained when we were camping and it stayed dry and held up. We haven ’ t tested it out with heavy rain, so the jury ’s out on that. We can ’ t wait to go camping with this again!

A fantastic tent when used for its intended purpose. It's pretty tight for two, but very light weight and holds up well in bad condition. Highly recommend to seal the seams which adds a lot of waterproofness

If I 'm not on a bike tour somewhere in the world, I am more than likely at my home in Nepal or Colorado. I 'm pretty much just a weekend warrior and go car camping. I used it when the weather dropped around 50°f and was pretty comfortable. The only issue I have is I wish it was an inch longer or I could stake out the back of the tent and pull it back some my. I 'm 6ft 1 and I have no extra room between my head and the tent.

Have a first light that is now about 10 years old. The poles have finally lost their elasticity but it ’s a decade old. Have used in temps down to 30. Never leaks. Does get a little condensation when 2 are using it. By myself it does better. It ’s a tight squeeze for 2 people but it keeps it light and simple. I can pitch this tent in about 5 mins and pack it away just as fast. You won ’ t regret spending the money on this one.

I bought the Carbon Reflex 2 to start my serial section hike of the AT. It has been fantastic. It is light weight for a 2 wall tent. I have been out 22 nights last year and 10 night this year. I have been in 9 degree cold with wind and rain, and 85 degree high humidity. I have never had any condensation in the tent. Even though I hike solo I chose the 2. I like to have all my gear in the tent with me. I feel that the little extra weight is worth it. Setting up is quick and easy. I have even learned how to in the rain set up the rain fly first and then the tent without getting any water in the tent. Last year on a cold rainy morning I was in such a hurry to get packed up, I lost the short tent pole. I stayed in shelters the next two nights not missing the pole. The third night setting up I realized what I had done. I was able to cut and use a small branch as a sorry replacement. I phoned customer service, and they shipped me a new pole in just a few days. Thanks MSR! This tent is light weight, durable, and it works. If you need a tent, this is it. Only negative is that it is not free standing.

I bought this tent about 3 years ago after eyeing it or it's aluminum counterpart. I had the hubba before. I had worked for an out fitter for about 7 years when I purchased this tent so I had put much thought into it as well as been able to see a little bit of what else was out there. We did n't carry this tent and I thought it was the same configuration as the Hubba hubba- not quite. It is not entirely free standing but that's fine it's not as bad a most other non- free standing types. The side doors are amazing and the biggest plus. No climbing over each other and amazing light weight. You ca n't get a better tent weight without going to something like say... a big agnes where they have the single front door configuration which if you are tall or not flexible is not the easiest to get into. Also the side door configuration gives you twice the vestibule space. Personally I used this as a single person tent and enjoyed my extra space. It is small enough and light enough to pass as a one man shelter. I am a hair over 6' 2 '' '' and while I might have to slouch a bit; I can sit sideways in the door and get my boots on or cook under the vestibule in a storm. It is long enough that I do n't have to worry about my feet or head picking up condensation from rubbing the end of the tent. Still big enough for two. I bought it I think three summers ago. I only camp 8- 10 nights a year, so it's held up great. It's hard to find a tent that's completely open on top, save for the mesh screen. It's lovely to leave it open and look at the sky or observe the leaves/bugs during the day and hugely helpful for ventilation. It has pretty excellent bug protection and the color is just so dang pretty. If this one falls apart, I hope I can get the exact same one!

I bought this tent about 7 months ago and haves loved it! I ’ ve used it on many multiple day backpacking trips along with a 12 day trek in New Mexico and I have had absolutely no problems with the tent. Would recommend if your looking for a good durable 2 person tent that can be used a lot.

I love how roomy this tent is, and the material is more heavy duty than a backpacking tent. The zipper is a bit of getting used to but the door opening is very nice. Tent setup was a head scratcher as I am used to the Jake's foot style. Rereading the instructions, I wish this was a Jake's foot style setup, which is much more intuitive.

You 'll want to make sure you have stakes or something to weigh it down with once you are set up. There's a back window that can be opened for more ventilation throughout the tent. Sand easily falls right off of the slinky nylon- like material. There was a bit of a learning curve to get it closed, but once you watch their YouTube video it really helps you get it down. Comes with storage bag and takes up barely any space in your trunk. Myself, my husband and my two kids( 7, 10) were all able to comfortably fit inside the tent together.

[ Just what I was looking for. First two times it was used got decent rain and it stayed perfectly dry. Had very strong winds that collapsed one side( while nobody was in it and I don ’ t have it tied down, just staked) and it popped right back up when the wind stopped. No damage. The “ wings ” make it a little more difficult to set up with a good tight stretch on all sides, but I do love that extra space inside.

[ This is just a preliminary review, since I have yet to have the opportunity to use it yet. However, it set it up in my home. So far, it ’s pretty impressive, especially for value. Set up was easy, although a small hiccup with the fly. I was centering the vestibule zipper and things weren ’ t wuite lining up. I went back to the photo of the tent and once I realized that the zipper aligns with the wing, it was easy peasy. The tent is plenty roomy, and just love the wings. Whichever Marmot engineer thought of that is a genius!!! I thought it might just be a gimmick, but it ’s utilitarian and thoughtful. I also love the extra large doors which make getting your gear in a breeze. All the stitching looked great. Time will tell once I get this tent out in the outdoors, but so far, Im delighted with my Limelight 3P

Bought this tent for a family camp trip. It worked well enough for us. 2 kids 2 parents 1 dog fit comfortably. The door zipper does get caught easily in the fabric. Not sure how you would fit 8 people though.

It was great but I wish I 'd have known to tie my own extra knots at the end of the poles because one pulled through two of the poles. I think I can fix and maybe still use, as is. I admit I was nervous about hoisting it up after putting all the poles together myself, but it worked. I did n't use the rain cover.

The super easy set up comes in handy when you ’ ve rolled up to your destination at 1: 30am and just want to sleep. super lightweight and packs down very tight. I love it, I have only used it one time so I am still learning how to set it up. With the tail gate down and window and gate open you have over 10 feet of leg room and can almost stand up in it. I wish I had bought this many years ago. Another owner of an Avalanche saw it this weekend and wanted to know where to get one. I would recommend setting up in your driveway with help the first time so you have an idea of where the straps go before just setting out on a trip. I glad I did. When I went camp I was by myself and was different when you have help. I enjoyed it.

[ Bought for trips with two people and a dog. It was easy to set up and overall light weight. Only thing is the stakes are pretty heavy but easily swapped with lighter ones so no big deal! The mesh has such high visibility that my dog actually tried to jump through it. The tent didn ’ t budge and she sort of flopped backwards. No damage to the tent so it ’s durable too!

[ We bought this to go car camping with our three- year- old. I have some nitpicks( see below) but all in all I 'm quite happy with it. PROS:- Very easy to set up.- Main tent body is mostly mesh; nice for ventilation and stargazing. Rain fly provides full coverage, for a little more warmth and privacy.- Included footprint is a nice addition. CONS:- Quite heavy, but this is to be expected at the price.- The bag has no handle, and it can be a little tricky to get all the pieces stuffed back in.- The included stakes are a little flimsy. I 've already bent one of them, on our first trip out.- The stake- out loops on the rainfly do n't work very well( though I plan on tying them out with line next time, which should take care of it).

I see alot of bad reviews for this tent, but I 've honestly never had any problems with it. First issue I hear alot about is that it leaks. I 've never had any leaks with this tent. I remember I ended sleeping in probably an inch of water one night, and not a single drop made it into the tent! Another issue that I heard of was that the poles were attached together. I can see why someone would find it annoying l, but I like it like that. I like the way they 're attached because I find it easier to set it up by myself. Overall, a pretty solid Tent that I would recommend!

Used this tent a couple times and it was great In this Texas summer. Only complaint I have is the instructions to set up suck. Also, mine didn ’ t come with those poles to create that little canopy. I 'm pretty sure the people who are commenting about the lack of waterproof may be referring to the morning dew/ condensation of moisture that builds up on the inside of the tent in the early morning. A cut abuff the rest
[ Works well and kept me dry in harsh BWCA weather last week for 7nights. My only complaint is it ’s just barely the width of the tent, if they could make the dimensions a little larger it would be nice. I found the sides of my tent to be a little wet. Thankfully it has a good sized tub for the base.
