[ My first trip with my new Tungsten 1 Person tent was to Big Bend Ranch State Park last November. Temps ranged from lower 80 ’s during the day to lower 40 ’s at night. The tent weighed almost half what my previous one did. I was really happy about that. It also sets up in only a couple of minutes even when using the rain fly. On warmer nights the Tungsten was perfect without the fly. Great views of a star filled sky that way as well. On the coolest nights I was super comfortable with the fly on to help retain some heat. I was pleasantly surprised to find the air circulation was good enough to almost prevent all condensation from building up inside the fly. I am 6 ’ 2 ” and there was plenty of room for me and my long sleeping bag plus all of the gear that makes me happy to have close at hand. Don ’ t misunderstand though; it is definitely a one person tent. After those 4 nights I would definitely recommend this tent. It has all of the quality you would expect from a premium brand like Marmot. Get one for yourself without fear of disappointment.

[ Took this on a two night backpacking trip in the Rockies and the extra space from the gear wings was the envy of everyone in our camp. Definitely got called the Vienna Sausage tent a lot, but if it's functional, who cares what color it is. Makes it easier to spot your camp. Got rained on plenty and this thing stayed dry-- that's probably the most important part. Set up was all color- coded so super easy. Clips in like other backpacking tents. My only gripe is the door. The fly only has a vertical zipper to access the door and the bubble of the D is on the other side. So you really have to reach around to open it and I felt like I was always battling the tent to get in( my partner did not hate this as much as I did). I 'm sure it's not the lightest tent on the market but weight was n't a huge concern on our trip and I really appreciated the extra space to keep our packs inside the tent. The ol Vienna Sausage tent will be continue to be our backpacking go- to. Its flaws can be overlooked for the convenience of extra space.

For the price, the Limelight is a solid performer. It's the style and size that the majority of outdoor folks will at some point. It also wo n't break the bank. While ultralight tents shine for the fast packers and the weight conscious, the price for weight savings is a non linear formula. In other words you 'll pay a lot more for a lot less when it comes to shaving ounces. I 've used the lImelight in all its configurations over the years. Mine has been to Mexico, the Andes, and all over the US. It's a good three season performer and works even in the odd snowstorm. It's light enough to travel well and carry( if load is shared between two people).

[ As first time campers, when my partner and I first saw how compact and light the package was, we were skeptical of whether it would be large enough. However after setting it up- which was super easy- it was as roomy as you need it to be. The hardest part was putting it back into the bag as neatly as it came. However if you are impatient like my partner and prefer to just stuff it in, it still works, which is great! I used this tent on a 4 night canoe trip in the Boundary Waters and had an amazing experience! It rained the first 2 days of the trip and this tent kept everything really dry while still being well ventilated. I loved that it came with a footprint that is super lightweight, this kept the bottom of the tent mud free in the rain and it cleaned up great when it was dry- I even used this footprint as a picnic blanket for lunch breaks between campsites which was an added bonus! 2 people in the 3P tent was ideal to have some extra room to move around, and I love that is has 2 doors with kick outs/vestibules on the rainfly to store items outside the tent while still being covered! My favorite bonus feature on the tent is the guyline bag that has a light diffuser for headlamps, so you pop your light into the bag and hang it on one of the many loops on the top of the tent for a perfect diffused light! The `` stargazer '' mode with the rainfly off was also amazing for stargazing without getting eaten alive by bugs! I took this tent on a three- night backpacking trip to Colorado and I highly recommend it. My buddy and I were very tired after reaching our campsite and we were able to get the tent set up in under 10 minutes. The tent includes several unique features to make this process as quick as possible, including color- coded corners on the tent and footprint, a cool idea that I had never seen before. The tent also has a few other neat and useful features worth mentioning including two doors, large vestibules, and numerous interior organizational spaces and tools, such as pockets along the walls and a clever integration method that allows you to hang the removable top of an Ampex pack inside for easy access. Once we got it up, it performed very well. Our campsite had a significant amount of flies and wasps, but the tent ’s fabric kept all the bugs out for our entire trip. It also rained one night and the rain fly kept us( as well as my boots and pack in the vestibule) entirely dry. Additionally, our campsite overlooked a valley and we experienced some wind gusts during the trip. The tent never felt unstable and handled the wind well. In fact, I carried the tent in and I was surprised by how strong the tent was when considering how light it weighed. Finally, the temperature of the tent stayed well moderated because the tent has several vents. I would guess the temperature got down to the 30s or 40s at night and I was never too cold or too warm. Overall, I highly recommend this tent. I ’ ve camped in numerous tents over the years and the Ampex 3- person is by far my favorite. I look forward to using it on my next trip.

The tent and ground was completely dry. In addition to being effective at keeping the tent dry, it is also made of durable material and packs right into the tent bag I already have. I ’ m very happy with the product. It might be a bit heavy for a backpacking excursion unless you are distributing weight among people, but the tent it is made for is really more of a car camping tent anyway, not backpacking.

I 'm using this in combination with my Big Agnes UL3 MtnGlow tent. It fits in the bag with my tent/poles and it is fairly light. The extra reassurance that you 're not going to tear up the bottom of your tent is worth it. It also attaches directly to the tent stake points, so it is secure when in use.

This tarp is big, well made. It was a bit windy setting up in the mountains. I suggest staking the Footprint down untill you get the tent up. It is larger then the 11 person tent so you have to fold in the sides to stake the tent down. You can use the extra length at the front of the tent for taking your shoes off prior to entering the tent, or for a doormat placement.

You can leave the cover off for breathability in warmer weather or to just be able to look up at the stars. And the cover is lightweight and waterproof for rain or that early morning dew. [ I purchased these for our crews at the California Conservation Corps. We have about 80 corps members who use them on the regular. They go out into the rugged forests of Northern California, they use them at wind swept dunes, the cliff sided Pacific Ocean in the rain and in the deep forests of old growth the Redwoods. They camp for 8 days in a row, come home for a few days then go back out again. They also respond to emergencies like wild fires, floods and even pandemics. The Stormbreak 3 holds up well and is definitely put to the test year around. It ’s quick and easy to set up, stays dry in the rain, is easy to clean and maintain and lasts out in extreme elements. I used the tent this weekend for the first time and it was great. It was easy to set up with two people. It is very spacious. I was by myself in the tent but it could easily fit 3 or 4 adults comfortably. The only issue is that it did rain. Not heavy but steady for around 2 hours and there was some water on the inside. Only on one side and not too much. It does have a lot of mesh and the seams do n't appear to be sealed. Overall it was a good purchase for the price.

Honestly ca n't say I 've had any of the issues other people mentioned. I 've slept in the tent a few times now, including inclement weather. Once in the winter when it hit 17F and recently during during storms with driving rain. The winter I picked up frost on the inside of the fly with the vents open, would vent doors next time. During the down pour the fly wet out but the inside stayed dry. Nothing flapped in the wind or leaked water. The stakes supplied are plenty. I might spring for nicer stakes, but ca n't complain at the price point. Much more room than my Quarter dome. Not sure how you make it easier to set up? Match the colors insert the poles clip the clips- put the peak pole on top of the cross poles stakes in the loops. I 'll be in touch to see if I can get the bike pack poles for it.

I bought this to do some backcountry elk hunting in oregon. I am not planning to get more then 8 miles back so the weight is really not a concern to me even though its really not that heavy. Its definitely bigger then I expected as I have purchased cheaper 2- person tents in the past that your head was smooshed into the wall of the tent. Bottom of the tent is a little thin so I do suggest running a tyvek type ground cover underneath of it if you are running any type of sleeping pad. For the price it will hunt and sleep fantastic!

Took it out for a weekend and was very comfortable. Had some unexpected wind and rain and has absolutely no problems at all. Kept bugs out very well. Only complaint is the netting seems to stop too high up so the ventilation doesn ’ t make its way to the floor very well. Solid purchase either way and I can ’ t wait to use it again.

I wore out one of these. Using it for solo car camping and short back packs to base camps. No heavier than any 4 season tent and quite warm with the high solid nylon walls. Mine was a little compact inside but fine solo. I had a couple who lived in one for a week. He was tall and she was petite. I like the basic stand alone pole system of a dome tent. The fly can be tied to maximize airflow and ventilation. I did buy a Tiger Wall, but I live where I can get `` factory '' deals and I 'll lighten my pack any chance I get, but I was ready to get another one of these and the vestibule!

I 'd been wanting this tent for a while. I also have a Tiger Wall, that I adore, but the Copper Spur material us a bit less delicate and the ability to set it up with my poles and under the rainfly really does make a difference. The pole option helps with the weight and my first trek out with it I got trapped in a torrential downpour and appreciated the ability to do the rainfly, first so the tent did n't get wet at all. I use a 2 person tent for just me as I like the extra space and so it's one of my weight compromises. You do n't need to, but I keep my pack with me( I hang food and all smelly things, but keep my pack) because I use it to prop up my legs at night as I have lower back issues. The extra size is helpful so I can move the pack around when I 'm in it without sleeping. One thing that seems silly but makes a huge difference, for me, is the color. I dislike waking up in green or blue tents because of the light. The red and yellow of the Tigerwall and Copper Spur mimic, more, the color of the sun and so I wake up feeling warmer and more refreshed.

Nice tent, cool and cozy color! It does n't get dark inside the tent when camping near other tents with lights. Though set up and packing is easy and fast. When the tent is wet it dries fast, that's nice too. Material feels breakable, but it's can handel a lot! Cords could be more visible in daytime, tripped a couple of time due to clumsiness:). Would not recommend sleeping with 2 persons( im 170cm 68kg female, another me would be too tight and no room for two- person backpaking gear to keep dry in rain. Very comfy as a 1p tent though( reason I bought it).

The 2 person variant of this tent is perfect for backpacking trips with your dog. The tent has a tapered foot box, so fitting two people in it will require some coordination with sleeping pads, I prefer to keep my pack inside the tent, and there was plenty of room for my sleep system, my dog's sleeping bag, plus my pack/gear. It even kept us dry in a surprise snow storm at elevation. I 've also woken up to a soggy rain fly during foggy alpine evenings where the day/night temps vary a lot but the interior has always stayed dry. The footprint is sold separately and is a must have( or make your own). Easy to set up and guy out, good ventilation, roomy and lots of storage.

I have owned a Copper Spur UL2 for 9 years now and used it on multiple backpacking trips each summer in the mountains of Colorado. My husband and I find it to be very easy to set up, durable, and lightweight. A couple years ago we noticed some minor wear to the tent and had it repaired by Big Agnes. We thought we might lighten our load a little and try out the Fly Creek but found it did not have high enough sides to protect us from the sudden rain and hail storms at high elevation. We are still using our original Copper Spur to this day and are very happy! I see there are some newer updates to the tent like increased storage inside and the option to convert the vestibule into an awning. I think anyone looking to enjoy the great outdoors would be well served by this tent.

Have you ever had a piece of gear that just makes you smile when it reminds you of the great memories you 've had with it? That is what the Chogori does for me. It has been great for solo overnight ski tours, and comfortable for two when doing a weekend outing with my wife. Setup could n't be easier. The tent is spacious enough for 2- although the 2p tent maybe lacks a little bit of head room, but I 'm not complaining. The structure of the tent is solid. I 've had this up in pretty high winds and it was confidence inspiring for me. It's not the lightest tent I have, but the tradeoff for strength and livability are 100% worth the extra couple of pounds.

I got this tent for a winter kayaking trip through the Grand Canyon, and it just happened to be a year of atmospheric rivers. I had tons of days and nights of rain storms, wind storms, and even snow. This tent was just awesome. It's easy to set up and really feels high quality. It held up to all the elements and kept me dry and warm. Lots of space and lots of convenience features, like pockets, door flap ties, and stuff like that. I only had a condensation issue on one night out of 26, when the temperature change from early evening to morning was really crazy. I was a bit wary of spending so much money for a tent, but it was worth it.

Brought the Chogori 4p for two people on an 18- day human- powered ski expedition on the Southern Patagonian Icefield. Interior: We were hauling 100lb+ pulks, so the extra weight of the 4p( no longer available online) was well worth the weight for the space. We originally planned to have a third team member, but he could n't make it because of an injury. As it were, the 4p version was perfect for an expedition with two people where space= sanity. We had plenty of room for stretching out, prepping food, and drying gear during endless storm days. Exterior: The only way to describe the weather we encountered for the vast majority of our 18 days was, well... Patagonian. We received 100+ km/h winds daily and more than two meters of snowfall during the expedition, and the Chogori performed as admirably as could be possible in such conditions. `` Bend do n't break '' became our rallying call for the tent as any structure will sag and contort when subjected to such conditions, yet the Chogori held strong through it all. A few poles bent slightly from constant pressure( the infamous Patagonian W and NW wind+ windswept snow that accumulated> 50cms every night for days on end), but they never felt close to snapping.( For comparison, I saw a Samaya tent pole snap in half and tear the tent in far lighter conditions earlier this season.) We literally entrusted our lives to the durability of the Chogori, and I could n't be more stoked with its performance. If adverse alpine conditions are likely and space is necessary, this is the tent for you.

I bought these stakes to anchor my Kelty Noah 16 tarp and they do the job as expected. They hold in windy conditions. At ten inches long and with the twist configuration they are great in soft soils but almost impossible to place in hard pack or rocky soil such as most developed campsite fill. Other stakes are more appropriate in those conditions.

Bought these for a multi day trip with gravel bar overnights on the Current River. In the past used the basic stakes that came with my tent with less than optimal results. These hammer in the gravel, rocks and sand very easily, with a twisting motion as they anchor. Held the tent and rain fly extremely well and removal was no fuss in the morning.

They hold your tent down in storms, I tested it. Other tents were flying away. I used them for the guy lines. I was not able to find any better ones, except really heavy steel military surplus stakes. But these are still light weight. I will get these for all my tents.
