After researching tents for about two years( seriously! I read reviews on everything out there), I finally decided on this one and so far I could n't be happier with my purchase. I just returned from camping in this tent with two other adults for four nights. We all agreed that it's just the right size for four unrelated adults with all their gear( i. e. friends who would prefer not to sleep 6 inches from each other's faces); for the three of us, it was luxuriously spacious. I sprayed the tent and rainfly with waterproofing prior to the trip. We experienced two heavy thunderstorms and the tent did n't leak a single drop and the overhang of the rainfly even enabled us to keep the windows cracked. While it's not a bathtub- style floor, the seams are double- sewn in a way that makes leaks where the floor meets the wall nearly impossible. We appreciated the spacious gear pouches along the walls; the gear loft overhead is too high in the air to be able to easily reach to put gear up there( the center height of this tent is about 86 ''!) but the lantern hook is great. There are other thoughtful touches in the tent's design, as well, including air vents along the floor and fabric that covers the door zipper to prevent rain leaks. The significant number of windows ensured a well- ventilated tent that was bearable even when getting pummeled with midday direct sun. Set- up takes about 45 minutes; it's not hard but there are a number of steps. I think it will get a little faster as I get more familiar with the tent. I definitely would n't be able to set this tent up alone. All in all, it's comfortable, well made, and kept me dry.

This was comfortable to sleep in, had 2 people with plenty of room left in it but can definitely fit 4. I 'm 5' 3 '' and I could stand in it with out having to crouch down so changing clothes in it was comfortable as well. This is definitely more of a spring/summer tent as the upper sides are only mesh but the tarp covers the mesh enough that it wo n't get wet. However I would be a little weary with heavy rain and wind in case for it to stay dry but regular rain was fine. The mesh siding and the added feature for air intake makes it perfect to sleep in in warm weather. I also loved the added feature to run a cord through without having to run it through the door. The price and quality is good so it's a good value. Will be taking it with again for our next camping trip.

[ I recently received the Core Equipment 10- Person Instant Cabin Tent( 14x10) and I ’ ve got to say — it exceeded expectations. Setup was effortless for a tent this size. The pre- attached poles make it genuinely “ instant ” — I had it standing in under a few minutes without breaking a sweat. No confusing instructions, no wrestling with separate pieces — just unfold, extend, and you ’ re done. The space inside is impressive. It feels more like a small cabin than a tent, with enough room to move around comfortably without feeling cramped. The nearly straight walls and tall ceiling give it an open, airy feel, and you can stand up and walk around with ease. Ventilation is excellent — the large mesh windows and 'ceiling' keep the air flowing, so it stays cool and comfortable even on warmer nights. I think it would hold up well during a light rainstorm — the taped seams and water- resistant fabric would keep everything dry. I ’ d still recommend giving it a quick waterproofing treatment if you ’ re heading into heavy weather, but for typical use, it holds its own. My only gripe is that it ’s a bit bulky when packed up, so you ’ ll need a decent amount of trunk space. And while it ’s technically rated for 10 people, it ’s more comfortable for 6- 8 if you want room to stretch out and store gear. Bought this tent for a last minute camping trip. My daughter and I each wanted `` space '' in the tent. Literally received it and just took it to the campsite( never even opened the box until set up). I 've had `` insta- tents '' before, so we pretty much knew how to set it up. Worked great as a second room. I use the truck as a bedroom. Sleeve zips off for a third door option if using the tent alone. The only problem was when it rained one time and a pool formed between the cap and the tent on the sleeve. If it was on the right car maybe this would n't happen. The other thing that should be done to make set up easier is to mark the center of each tent pole. This is to mark the apex of the tent to tie the roof ties to. You will see what I mean when you set up. Would I buy this tent again? Yes. And I have never put any kind of waterproofer or seam sealer on and never had a leak.

I used the tent for the first time this past weekend and thought it was great!! My wife even enjoyed camping and I was n't sure that was possible. I heard from reviews that people said that it was hard to set up, but me and my friend set it up for the first time in the dark and only took us 10 minutes, very simple. They even have a video that shows you how to set it up, I would advise watching it first if you are unsure. Others said that it wouldnt fit back in the bag that it comes with, but again, I had no problem with it at all. The only cons were the tent pegs that came with it. They had no point at the end and bent everytime you hammered them in. I went to REI and bought some titanium tent pegs and problem was solved. The only other con was that when using the zippers, they sometimes catch the overflap fabric. Not sure how to fix it yet, but not a big concern. The tent is big and very roomy. I 'm 6' 5 '' and could walk around the tent with no problem. I have a 2004 Toyota 4Runner and the fit was perfect. Great tent, cant wait to use it again!

Love the idea of attaching this tent to my SUV. My wife and I have spent many a nights stacking stuff form the back into the front seats to make room for us in the back. This tent arrived and we headed out to go camping, first stop Holter Lake Montana, fee for camping sights vehicles on pavement tents on grass, you can imagine that we could not drive stakes into the ground when half would have to go through pavement. Headed out of Holter to camp at the Bridge where the access road to Holter meets up with the river at wolf creek canyon. Pitched the tent, pole, stakes everything and lit the barbeque and settle down for the night. Then the wind came and tent blew away. Lesson learned point the vehicle into the wind if known or possible( keep in mind, Eastern Montana is some of the windiest area in the United States. Packed up and headed home in the middle of the night. Two days later headed out to Yogo Creek Montana, found a remote site and set up camp, some wind but it was steady and we pointed vehicle into the wind. Everything else went off without a hitch, beautiful clear creek, camp fire and tent did fine in the 10 to 12 mph wind gust. One small problem, the straps that attach to the tent and come over the top of the vehicle and attach under the hood. When the wind blows is raddles those straps and makes a noise like a semi using air brakes. I will be going to the dollar store and buying some cheap pool noodles, slicing them half way and attaching them over those straps to stop this in the future. Over all glad I bought the tent, roomy and pretty easy to set up and break down.

It rained both nights and the second night was a storm like I had never seen before. It rained really hard for several hours, totally filling a 4 inch pot that was sitting outside. We were dry in our tent with only a very small amount of water coming in and most of it was near the door. We were very pleased with how the tent performed and would buy again. A larger storm flap, especially over the door would be a nice addition. So for all the reviews of people complaining about the tent leaking, please be realistic, if it is raining while you are camping, water is going to get into your tent, if it leaks like a sieve that ’s a different issue, maybe you have the tent set up in a bad area, if you have maybe a 1/4 cup of water in your tent after a rain storm that dropped 4 inches of water in about 3 hours, you have a good tent. We have a big crew, 4 kids ranging from 2 to 12 plus a 10 month old 70 lb puppy. It was a lot of work to set up and take down, but it was worth it! The first night it DOWNPOURED! Like really really heavy rain. Not a drop ended up inside. Tent and rainfly dried really fast the next day no problem. Tent was large enough for all of us and our gear comfortably. The divider and where it attaches was perfect for our projector screen and was a wonderful added bonus. Movies in the forest! Overall this was a fantastic purchase. Won ’ t know on durability until we ’ ve used it more. But the bottom did withstand our puppy ’s rambunctiousness( claws running around), so that ’s good!

I bought this in April to replace my last Core Equipment tent. I was looking for more room, headspace, and weatherproofing. So far it has not disappointed me. The first night and first use of this tent exceeded my expectations. We got pounded by a thunderstorm and fairly high winds. We stayed bone dry, and even with the straight walls, the tent survived fully in tact. It can be setup with one person, but it is much easier with two. It is a bit heavy, but I consider that a feature. This tent will not be used far from a vehicle, so weight is less important to me than structural integrity. The doors work great, althout the double door would be improved if I could unzip the top somehow. But, i am not sure how that would work while maintaining water impermeability.

I have mixed feelings about this tent, but after taking it on a four- day family camping trip, I ’ m ultimately very impressed with it. The tent is huge and genuinely comfortable for family camping. We had plenty of room for two adults, two young children, our gear, and fans, without feeling cramped. The straight walls make the space much more usable than the stated floor dimensions alone would suggest. Setup takes some work because of the size, but after doing a practice setup at home, I found it manageable. Before the trip, I accidentally punctured one of the outer sleeves for the roof support pole during setup. I repaired it myself with a baseball stitch and was somewhat concerned about how it would hold up. On our last night, we had a serious thunderstorm. The wind and rain were strong enough that our separate pop- up canopy collected water, bent its metal roof supports, and was completely destroyed. Campground power also went out. The CORE tent survived. Even more remarkably, a tree branch fell during the storm, struck the apex of the tent, bounced off the roof, and then punctured a small hole in the rainfly door as it fell. We were extremely fortunate that no one was hurt. After the trip, I set the tent back up and inspected the structure, poles, and repaired sleeve. Everything was still fine other than the small puncture from the branch, which I will repair. There are some negatives. This is a very large tent, so it takes up substantial campsite space and requires a large footprint. Setup is not something I would want to figure out for the first time at a campground. The pole sleeves also require some care — I caused the original damage by puncturing one with a pole during setup. The tent is also highly dependent on a properly installed rainfly for weather protection. But after what this tent went through, I trust it. It stayed dry, the structure held through severe weather, my hand- repaired pole sleeve survived, and the tent even absorbed a direct impact from a falling branch without structural failure. I bought another tent before this trip because I was unsure whether I could trust the repaired one. I ended up taking the repaired CORE tent instead, and I ’ m glad I did. The new tent is still unused. Pros: enormous usable interior, excellent straight- wall headroom, held up extremely well in heavy rain and wind, and proved much tougher than I expected. Cons: large packed and pitched footprint, setup requires practice, and the pole sleeves need careful handling during assembly. After this trip, I would absolutely use it again.

My wife and I easily had it set up in about 5 min, her first comment was `` Well that was easy, a lot better then the Coleman '' I 'm anxious to see how fast I can put it up next time, knowing the routine. Our biggest issue was the rain fly, but again knowing the routine it will go better next time. The lights were a definite highlight for my wife, she really liked this feature. One thing we liked with our Coleman that is n't on the Core is the D- shape swinging door. Not really a big deal. We ca n't wait to go camping!!!

I have never in my life wrote a review but I buy based on reviews and I couldn ’ t let this one go. This is a very durable tough build tent. I got caught in a very nasty storm with high winds and this tent stayed in tack and nothing broke or ripped. I had to hold the side wall so it doesn ’ t collapse on us but eventually we left everything in the tent and ran to the truck. That tent took a bitting for 5 hours in the wind/rain and didn ’ t not break. I had some water in the tent but compare to how bad the storm was the water was nothing. The stakes did pull up but didn ’ t damage the eyes, seems held up wonderful, metal poles didn ’ t brake or bend, zippers work, lights work. I thought I would had just to throw it in the trash after the storm but oh boy I was wrong. Great buy and I hope this review helps someone make the decision I did 3 year ago!

We ’ d previously had the 6 person instant cabin which was too small for us. We roll with 2 queen air mattresses and there wasn ’ t room to even stand in that one. We just had a backyard camping, and the blockout tent was great! I love that it ’s so easy to set up and my kids were able to sleep in thanks to the darkening effect. We got some rain, but didn ’ t get wet at all. We were able to fit 4 wide cots inside. I like the screen ceiling, so you can look out to the sky when you don ’ t have the rain fly on, and have light and breeze come through even with the rain fly on. All the windows zip up tight to keep rain and light out. I hope it lasts for many years of camping fun.

Used for the 4th of July holiday. It was 114 degrees out all 4 days. The tent worked out great. We were able to sleep in until around 8 am because it stays so dark but of course it got hot inside with the extreme temps. Any tent would. We are 100% satisfied with our purchase. Set up and take down is quick and easy. Goes back in the bag included easily. My husband is 5 ” 11 and can stand up all the way through the tent. Worth the$ for us.

Just took this tent camping for the first time. I thought the blockout technology was going to be a gimmick... BOY WAS I WRONG. it was so dark i literally had to have a flashlight to go into my tent. really enjoyed camping in it. it was easy to setup, easy to pull down. lots of space inside. came with a center divider that was not see through. 2 doors on the `` front '' and one on the `` back ''. I 'm going to be completely honest. I went camping one time and it rained so long and so hard that my tent literally flooded inside to 2 1/2 inches of water. I really would love to be able to buy a full rainfly for this tent to make me completely satisfied. I 'm always skeptical of `` water resistant '' tents. Other than that, this tent rocks and i actually want the larger 12 person or 3 section cabin tent with blockout tech. i think my only gripe is that it does n't have a door matt with it. but that is not always a bad thing, and i understand that. [ I recently had the pleasure of using this fantastic 6- person tent on a camping trip, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations! Although it ’s labeled for six people, it comfortably fits four with plenty of space for everyone to stretch out and relax, but that ’s common for tents and I expected that going in and in a survival scenario you probably could squeeze six in there. The black- out interior is really nice as it provides a perfectly dark environment for a restful night ’s sleep, even if the sun is still out as can be common during the mid- summer evenings. I thought the interior would be hotter being mostly black, but it actually wasn ’ t bad. Regardless we were camping during the summer, so we opened the air flow flaps that still have a mesh covering to keep out bugs but allow for additional cooling. What truly impressed me was the ease of setup. I was skeptical of the 60- second advertisement for setup, but I actually had the tent pitched and ready in under 60 seconds, which made settling in a breeze and left more time for enjoying our surroundings. The design is intuitive and straightforward, making it ideal for anyone new to the outdoors. I will say that it is bulky, so there would not be a way to take it on a backpacking trip, but it is great for and really shines at a campground site. It ’s in a long bulky bag, so it might be a little difficult to pack in the car with camping equipment. Overall, this tent combines comfort and convenience in one nice package.

We 've used this tent a few times and really like it. This weekend we had a heavy rain for about 8 hrs and the only leak was where the electric cord came in through the port... very little water. The only thing that could be improved with this tent is putting it back in the bag... it's a bit difficult. Also note when it's packed up it's very long and may not be able to be fit in a car. Two tentpole grommets at each corner, so you can use the far one for raising the tent, and tighten the tent up with the close one later. 5. Two interior mesh pockets instead of one 6. Tapered closed tentpole ends, so that they slide through more easily, and do n't clog up with dirt 7. Expandable bag, which makes the tent easier to pack up quickly The only issues with the tent are inherent in the design and materials, but still pretty good for this price and weight: 1. No full rainfly over the front door, so you may want to put a tarp over the front if you expect heavy rain 2. I have found that sort of rolling it up and leaning on it with your body weight at the end works. I do n't think I 'll ever go back to the traditional pole tent set up. Favorite part of this tent is the mesh ceiling. If the forecast is dry, you can leave the rainfly off and look at the stars. After about a dozen times camping, during a windstorm, one of the pole connections broke and we 've had to hobble together a solution, but we 've taken it camping still at least 4- 5 more times since. P. S. It's pretty waterproof, but you really need to stake it well for the rain to go where you want it to. Also, because of the slanted walls, you do n't want your air mattress touching the sides during the rain either.

[ Was looking for a car camping tent, larger and more comfortable than the backpacking tent I 've had for ages. The DogHouse would sleep 2 very comfortably, you could sleep 4 if you do n't mind being a sardine. Steep sided walls gives the tent a very spacious feel. I could erect and take down the tent solo, but did struggle a bit the first time I pitched the tent to insert the tent pole into the final grommet. Also took me a while to figure out how to get the horizontal top pole out of the snap when breaking the tent down. Overall, the tent erected pretty quickly and easily in subsequent uses after the fabric stretched out a bit. Good ventilation, beefy stakes, seems to be a strong, stable tent, certainly fine for summer camping, probably 3 season. Worst conditions I 've been in are moderate wind and rain overnight, and the tent shed water no problem. I 'm assuming the fabric has a DWR coating, and it's unclear how long the waterproofing would last. I did not buy the ridiculously expensive footprint, just used a tarp close to the correct size and that worked fine. Tent material did catch in the zipper when zipping open or close the door. I wonder if anyone has solved this though.

Have you ever had a piece of gear that just makes you smile when it reminds you of the great memories you 've had with it? That is what the Chogori does for me. It has been great for solo overnight ski tours, and comfortable for two when doing a weekend outing with my wife. Setup could n't be easier. The tent is spacious enough for 2- although the 2p tent maybe lacks a little bit of head room, but I 'm not complaining. The structure of the tent is solid. I 've had this up in pretty high winds and it was confidence inspiring for me. It's not the lightest tent I have, but the tradeoff for strength and livability are 100% worth the extra couple of pounds.

I got this tent for a winter kayaking trip through the Grand Canyon, and it just happened to be a year of atmospheric rivers. I had tons of days and nights of rain storms, wind storms, and even snow. This tent was just awesome. It's easy to set up and really feels high quality. It held up to all the elements and kept me dry and warm. Lots of space and lots of convenience features, like pockets, door flap ties, and stuff like that. I only had a condensation issue on one night out of 26, when the temperature change from early evening to morning was really crazy. I was a bit wary of spending so much money for a tent, but it was worth it.

Brought the Chogori 4p for two people on an 18- day human- powered ski expedition on the Southern Patagonian Icefield. Interior: We were hauling 100lb+ pulks, so the extra weight of the 4p( no longer available online) was well worth the weight for the space. We originally planned to have a third team member, but he could n't make it because of an injury. As it were, the 4p version was perfect for an expedition with two people where space= sanity. We had plenty of room for stretching out, prepping food, and drying gear during endless storm days. And thank god for all the pockets and a large vestibule that was perfect for cooking, melting snow into water, and putting on/ taking off boots. Exterior: The only way to describe the weather we encountered for the vast majority of our 18 days was, well... Patagonian. We received 100+ km/h winds daily and more than two meters of snowfall during the expedition, and the Chogori performed as admirably as could be possible in such conditions. `` Bend do n't break '' became our rallying call for the tent as any structure will sag and contort when subjected to such conditions, yet the Chogori held strong through it all. A few poles bent slightly from constant pressure( the infamous Patagonian W and NW wind+ windswept snow that accumulated> 50cms every night for days on end), but they never felt close to snapping.( For comparison, I saw a Samaya tent pole snap in half and tear the tent in far lighter conditions earlier this season.) We literally entrusted our lives to the durability of the Chogori, and I could n't be more stoked with its performance. If adverse alpine conditions are likely and space is necessary, this is the tent for you.

[ Two tears ago I purchased a Marmot Tungsten 4P tent as my adult children were wanting to recreate their growing up backpacking experiences with their children, my grandchildren. [ Two adults, two kids, two weeks in Yellowstone NP= success. We bought this tent for our trip knowing it was sized too tight to fit anything more than pads, bags and bodies. We coated it with permethrin which proved to help the bugs. It divvied rain well. IT CAME WITH A FOOTPRINT! The stakes were sturdy enough to be stomped into hard ground. The colors were attractive. The vents were nice. The door would be nicer if it folded down, not up. Easy assembly. Vestibules kept shoes dry. Plenty of pockets and overhead storage. Both adults are above average height and the dimension was slightly tight.

We prefer some extra space, so got this spacious 3- person tent for just two people. It's still very light weight with a quick setup and easy breakdown. You can leave the cover off for breathability in warmer weather or to just be able to look up at the stars. And the cover is lightweight and waterproof for rain or that early morning dew. We have a lot of accessories, so I appreciate all the storage pockets. The big doors on either side are also convenient so we do n't have to crawl over each other to get in and out. [ Took this on a two night backpacking trip in the Rockies and the extra space from the gear wings was the envy of everyone in our camp. Definitely got called the Vienna Sausage tent a lot, but if it's functional, who cares what color it is. Makes it easier to spot your camp. Got rained on plenty and this thing stayed dry-- that's probably the most important part. Set up was all color- coded so super easy. Clips in like other backpacking tents. My only gripe is the door. The fly only has a vertical zipper to access the door and the bubble of the D is on the other side. So you really have to reach around to open it and I felt like I was always battling the tent to get in( my partner did not hate this as much as I did). I 'm sure it's not the lightest tent on the market but weight was n't a huge concern on our trip and I really appreciated the extra space to keep our packs inside the tent. The ol Vienna Sausage tent will be continue to be our backpacking go- to. Its flaws can be overlooked for the convenience of extra space.

For the price, the Limelight is a solid performer. It's the style and size that the majority of outdoor folks will at some point. It also wo n't break the bank. While ultralight tents shine for the fast packers and the weight conscious, the price for weight savings is a non linear formula. In other words you 'll pay a lot more for a lot less when it comes to shaving ounces. I 've used the lImelight in all its configurations over the years. Mine has been to Mexico, the Andes, and all over the US. It's a good three season performer and works even in the odd snowstorm. It's light enough to travel well and carry( if load is shared between two people).

I 'd been wanting this tent for a while. I also have a Tiger Wall, that I adore, but the Copper Spur material us a bit less delicate and the ability to set it up with my poles and under the rainfly really does make a difference. The pole option helps with the weight and my first trek out with it I got trapped in a torrential downpour and appreciated the ability to do the rainfly, first so the tent did n't get wet at all. I use a 2 person tent for just me as I like the extra space and so it's one of my weight compromises. You do n't need to, but I keep my pack with me( I hang food and all smelly things, but keep my pack) because I use it to prop up my legs at night as I have lower back issues. The extra size is helpful so I can move the pack around when I 'm in it without sleeping. One thing that seems silly but makes a huge difference, for me, is the color. I dislike waking up in green or blue tents because of the light. The red and yellow of the Tigerwall and Copper Spur mimic, more, the color of the sun and so I wake up feeling warmer and more refreshed.

Nice tent, cool and cozy color! It does n't get dark inside the tent when camping near other tents with lights. Though set up and packing is easy and fast. When the tent is wet it dries fast, that's nice too. Material feels breakable, but it's can handel a lot! Cords could be more visible in daytime, tripped a couple of time due to clumsiness:). Would not recommend sleeping with 2 persons( im 170cm 68kg female, another me would be too tight and no room for two- person backpaking gear to keep dry in rain. Very comfy as a 1p tent though( reason I bought it).

The 2 person variant of this tent is perfect for backpacking trips with your dog. The tent has a tapered foot box, so fitting two people in it will require some coordination with sleeping pads, I prefer to keep my pack inside the tent, and there was plenty of room for my sleep system, my dog's sleeping bag, plus my pack/gear. It even kept us dry in a surprise snow storm at elevation. I 've also woken up to a soggy rain fly during foggy alpine evenings where the day/night temps vary a lot but the interior has always stayed dry. The footprint is sold separately and is a must have( or make your own). Easy to set up and guy out, good ventilation, roomy and lots of storage.

I have owned a Copper Spur UL2 for 9 years now and used it on multiple backpacking trips each summer in the mountains of Colorado. My husband and I find it to be very easy to set up, durable, and lightweight. A couple years ago we noticed some minor wear to the tent and had it repaired by Big Agnes. We thought we might lighten our load a little and try out the Fly Creek but found it did not have high enough sides to protect us from the sudden rain and hail storms at high elevation. We are still using our original Copper Spur to this day and are very happy! I see there are some newer updates to the tent like increased storage inside and the option to convert the vestibule into an awning. I think anyone looking to enjoy the great outdoors would be well served by this tent.

I could n't love this more. When. Im camping with a partner, having a `` stuff '' tent vs a sleeping tent is awesome. Makes the nights cozy and fun and keeps the area small enough to stay the right temperature but keeps our stuff nearby. When camping with a friend, we each get our own space and have chairs set up in the middle for morning coffee. The set up is a bit comicates, as opposed to normal tents, but that's to be expected. It's not hard, just requires a bit of thought as it's different. This would be a great tent for small families enabling a kid tent and a parents tent, just know the two sides are n't huge so would n't be great for people who bring a lot of stuff they want to keep with them in the tent. My only complaint is that I wish it came with a couple color options. I like reds, yellows and oranges for the color of the morning light when I wake up, but brown is better than green so it's ok:)

Camping with a family of 4 on a rainy weekend put this to the test. We loved having our own tents, within the tent. Camping with just two adults had plenty of shelter under the vestibule. Even used this as a lunch shelter at a Girl Scouts field day, using just the fly. Worth the price tag. My only `` negative '' feedback is that I think this should be sold with the foot print and the 2 extra poles to make an awning.

Excellent tent for camping with a family. My wife and I typically camp to ride, so we have weighed whether this setup could be used for MotoCamping. For our smaller middle weight ADVs that might be a tall order. Possibly doable on something the size of a GS1300 or Pan America. For now it makes an ideal tent for car and truck camping. This was our 4 year old's and our dog's first camping trip. I truly envy their ability to sleep the whole night. My wife and I slept on one side while our child and dog slept on the other. The vestibule made for easy day to day load outs and occasional drying of clothes. Convertibility is an awesome option as you can opt to use just one tent to have a larger vestibule which could potentially be used to cover motorcycles, but realistically would be more suited for bicycles. It could potentially be mounted on a bicycle pannier if rearranged. Just pay attention to your pole placement, they are long which means they could be easily bent in a fall. I would note that despite the site photos there are no poles to hold up the door flap.

We just got back from ten days in Yellowstone, and this tent made the trip fantastic! We usually bring a six- person tent for our family, but this fit the four of us perfectly. We are four adults. Each tent is big enough for two regular sleeping pads. We fit an Exped MegaMat with a Big Agnes Boundary in one tent, with only minor overlap. The space was amazing. We were able to hang a small clothesline across one door for towels. The tent made it through a couple big rainstorms with no issues. The temps outside got into the 30s, and the tent remained fine. This is definitely a car camping tent, but it packed in much nicer than our old tent. We bought the optional footprint, which I think should just be included. It makes setup and teardown a dream. It kept everything very clean. We got a lot of compliments in the campground!

We were looking for a tent that would replace our Chimney Creek 4 mtnGLO tent. Our kids are 10 and 7 and we have a new puppy and our 4 person tent was getting a bit tight. We took the Wyoming Trail 4 out on our first camping trip of the summer to the WA coast and it worked really well. The tent sets up pretty easy once you have done it once and figure out where the poles go and which ones go on top and bottome of each other. Very intuitive color coding of clips which makes setting up the raincover very straight forward. We loved the space in the large vestibule as we set up a chair and small table inside it and were able to also have a dog bed for our puppy to sleep in at night. I think we may have even convinced some friends with kids that were with us to think about getting the same tent! I think the only issue would be the size of the footprint of the tent. It is very long and it could be a tight fit in certain campsites.

I used this tent on a 4 night canoe trip in the Boundary Waters and had an amazing experience! It rained the first 2 days of the trip and this tent kept everything really dry while still being well ventilated. I loved that it came with a footprint that is super lightweight, this kept the bottom of the tent mud free in the rain and it cleaned up great when it was dry- I even used this footprint as a picnic blanket for lunch breaks between campsites which was an added bonus! 2 people in the 3P tent was ideal to have some extra room to move around, and I love that is has 2 doors with kick outs/vestibules on the rainfly to store items outside the tent while still being covered! My favorite bonus feature on the tent is the guyline bag that has a light diffuser for headlamps, so you pop your light into the bag and hang it on one of the many loops on the top of the tent for a perfect diffused light! The `` stargazer '' mode with the rainfly off was also amazing for stargazing without getting eaten alive by bugs! This is the best backing tent I have used( and a great price!) and I cant wait to take it with me on future trips!

I took this tent on a three- night backpacking trip to Colorado and I highly recommend it. My buddy and I were very tired after reaching our campsite and we were able to get the tent set up in under 10 minutes. The tent includes several unique features to make this process as quick as possible, including color- coded corners on the tent and footprint, a cool idea that I had never seen before. The tent also has a few other neat and useful features worth mentioning including two doors, large vestibules, and numerous interior organizational spaces and tools, such as pockets along the walls and a clever integration method that allows you to hang the removable top of an Ampex pack inside for easy access. Once we got it up, it performed very well. Our campsite had a significant amount of flies and wasps, but the tent ’s fabric kept all the bugs out for our entire trip. It also rained one night and the rain fly kept us( as well as my boots and pack in the vestibule) entirely dry. Additionally, our campsite overlooked a valley and we experienced some wind gusts during the trip. The tent never felt unstable and handled the wind well. In fact, I carried the tent in and I was surprised by how strong the tent was when considering how light it weighed. Finally, the temperature of the tent stayed well moderated because the tent has several vents. I would guess the temperature got down to the 30s or 40s at night and I was never too cold or too warm. Overall, I highly recommend this tent. I ’ ve camped in numerous tents over the years and the Ampex 3- person is by far my favorite. I look forward to using it on my next trip.

I love the dark green colors, I am ex- military and like to keep a low profile if I can. If the millennial ’s and the “ Z ’s ” want the bright colors and the attention, let them have it. This wouldn ’ t be a tent for the “ uber- ultra light ” through hikers, but for day hikers, I think it would be fine. It appears to be very sturdy, which I think it would be great in snow/rain/wind. I think you get a lot for the price with this one, no complaints here and am really happy I picked it up!

[ I bought this tent for my first camping trip in many years, and it was great. Very easy to assemble with tons of features like pockets, door flap holders, hooks lining the top of tent for hanging lights, etc. The two air vents on the rain fly kept things breezy, even while keeping the rain out in the morning. Top notch design! Only downside I noticed so far is that the stakes provided were n't the strongest, and a couple were bent upon taking out of the ground.

I bought this tent two years ago. I use it for hunting season and it works great. I haven ’ t had any issues at all. The only issue I had was the tent poles twisted around in 80 km hour winds haha and kind of fold it in on itself. The polls did not brea. That might ’ ve been my fault not tying ALL the guide down.

[ I bought this tent predominantly for backpacking or car camping. There is a chance I could bike pack, but that was not part of the decision to get this tent. I chose this slightly heavier tent over the regular backpacking tent because I wanted the decreased packed length. This allows me to put it in my backpack horizontally, and I keep the entire tent+ poles together. I chose a one person to keep the weight and volume down. I also appreciated having the loop straps on the top of the fly. During the BWCA trip last week, I frequently had wet socks, wet pant legs, and what other things to dry out. It was also windy during the trip. Once, I did put clothing in a pine tree. My friend later told me he picked up my stuff from the ground. After that, I always put my wet stuff under the loops on the tent. I love it! I had been concerned about the darker color of this tent compared to the backpacking tent. However, the color in the pictures is misleading. When I 'm inside the tent, I ca n't call it cheerful on the daytime but it's not dark and dreary. I do n't think it will soak up heat of the sun anymore than any other non- white tent will. I do like that it blends in better with the environment. I did purchase the footprint that also extends into the vestibule space. I 've previously had a tent with this feature and found it helpful. However, my friend has a BA tent with a traditional vestibule and he put a piece of plastic in front of his tent door. In the BWCA, the areas that we pitched our tents were often dirt. I found I had a lot of dirt on the footprint which kept me from sitting on it, etc. Meanwhile, my friend just simply lifted up his plastic and shook it out. We did get rain, so it's possible my gear under the vestibule stayed dryer. That being said, I do question if I 'm in this similar situation if I could just fold the vestibule back on itself and under the tent. And a grassy or less dusty situation, the footprint extending into the vestibule would be great. Otherwise, this review will likely apply to both the backpacking and bikepacking versions of this tent. My 8- year- old LLB 1- person tent I labeled my coffin tent. I do not feel the same way about this BA 1- person tent!!! This tent is a little wider, and I definitely have more headroom. It has a vent above which was a key deciding factor for my purchasing this tent. I hate tent condensation in the morning! I have a normal width sleeping pad And I can straddle it on hands and knees to adjust it and blow it up a little bit more. I can kneel in the tent and bend over in a squat to further make adjustments. I am 5 ft 7 in. ALL of the wonderful storage pockets kept so much off of the floor of the tent that it gave my body more space to move around. This is wonderful no matter what size version of this tent you get. I had a light jacket, a hat, and a shirt in the big pocket on the roof. The zippers on the tent open and close beautifully. Nothing got stuck. With the zipper on the fly I was a bit more careful, but all I did was extend a finger first in the direction I was traveling and that kept any material from getting caught. I am still figuring out all of the toggles, especially on the right side( facing tent) of the fly. It is very nice to open the doors wide, even if I do n't use the awning feature. THE VESTIBULE is Wonderful!! The vestibule in my old coffin tent would n't fit my backpack. With this BA 1- person tent, My 65- L ULA Catalyst backpack, a bait holder bag, shoes, my pfd, and a sm dry bag fit under the vestibule AND I still had room to enter and exit the tent. The vestibule rocks!!! The only thing that I do n't like about the vestibule is that there is n't a second smaller one. I do n't know if any 1- person tent has two vestibules. However, while this does allow one to set up the tent in smaller spaces, you are very restricted which way your vestibule faces. For ex, you may have to choose between setting up the tent so the foot faces into prevailing winds for safety... or setting up so you can open the vestibule doors and have a beautiful view of the mountains or a lake versus woods and weeds two to three feet from your vestibule if you set up for wind management. Setting up the tent was easy. The first two times I put the ends of the crossbars in the fly, it was effortful and I was concerned that I would do damage to the fly. Afterward, the material loosened up and it became easier. Clipping the fly to the footprint when I 'm also using the tent body is just a little awkward because cord material gets in the way of the clips. Guying out is much easier, quicker with the new adjustment pieces. There are two pieces of velcro to attach to the tent poles at the head of the tent. In the stake bag, there are multiple Velcro pieces and I 've not been able to find out what those are for. I bought two MSR groundhog stakes for two reasons: BA should have provided 1 more stake and I wanted two longer stakes to better anchor the tent in higher wind. During our BWCA trip, we did get a little rain but we got high winds during that time frame. Under these circumstances and with my roof vent open, I did n't get rain inside the tent. Also, with what both my friend and I felt were straight line winds, no rain got in the tent from under the tent fly. That being said, since the fly edges tend to sit up a bit higher from the ground to allow more ventilation, there was a lot of dirt and wood matter splash up against the wall of the tent. Luckily, the solid part obtained body goes high enough that nothing got inside. The inner tent remained dry. Packing down the tent and putting it and the poles in the available bags is okay. The bags are just wide enough if you pack things well. The stakes and their bag came packed inside with the tent and fly. I am a little concerned about the stakes being pushed in the bag with all of this other delicate material. My friend got upset with me because he felt I was taking too long to tear down the tent. I kept the fly on the tent body and attended to fold it all up together keeping the mesh on the inside, then stuff it in the bag. My friend felt I should just stuff each one in separately. I 'm not sure what's best, I just want to protect this more delicate material. That being said, my biggest concern for the material was when I was packing away the tent. Having the footprint down certainly protected the floor of my tent from any damage. Pros: mostly everything! Roof vent, large, practical vestibule, material loops on exterior fly, large tent body entryway, VG zippers, vestibule doors open wide, lots of interior pocket storage, a 1- person without being too confined, usually adjustable guylines, quick setup, appears to handle high wind well, why is not too dark, reflective elements on the tent keep one from tripping, fly zipper also zips from the top down, well- made. Cons: I guess the tent/tent pole bags could be lighter and the bags just the tiniest bit larger dia. The daisy chain loops are very small and not terribly practical. BA should include the missing stake. I would like for BA to also sell the bikepacking and backpacking poles separately. I could see someone wanting to own both depending on what situation they would be using the tent. I would also like BA to advertise that the traditional footprint and the extended footprint will fit both bikepacking and backpacking tents. Otherwise, the rest of my review will apply

[ Lightweight, sturdy, easy to put up…this is a great little one person tent. My only complaint is that Big Agnes should include the footprint because the test is quite delicate and requires one.

[ First: Th tent is n't nearly as dark- colored as the picture indicates- it's light grey and white. Very easy to set up and comfortable inside. Vestibule is roomy. The shorter pole segments make a big, positive difference when packing a bike! The bag is great if you want the Molle straps, otherwise I do n't see the advantage( and it does n't fit the best with my handlebar bag system.

I bought a Fly Creek UL1 fifteen years or so ago, when it was new to the market and a revolutionary change in tent design. In the spring of 2024, I took it to Taiwan for a five week trip camping in the mountains, forests, and beaches there. I camped for a couple of nights just outside Taipingshan forest park, doing long day hikes in the park. A few days later, I was camped on the beach, and noticed sand and dampness on the floor of the inside of the tent. There were lots of little holes in the fabric, from gravel or something sharp. Totally my fault. When I got home, I wrote to Big Agnes to see if repair was an option. It was not. Replacing the floor was not cost effective or really sensible for a tent that old and that used. They offered me a discount on a new Copper Spur UL1, and I jumped at the opportunity. The side door and bigger vestibule is an upgrade, and so is the more vertical wall, created by the little cross piece at the apex of the tent. The materials are really light, but seem quite tough. I have had it out in big rain in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, kayak camping in the Merchant Islands in Maine, and in a solid wind on Mount Olympus in Greece. The tent is very small, but holds its own in a wide variety of weather conditions. It is easy to set up- actually free standing, as opposed to the Fly Creek, which needs a couple of stakes to stay put. I go back and forth between tent and hammock. When there is a chance for no trees, or I am uncertain about what will be available, I bring the little Copper Spur, and I have not been disappointed. It is very light but not stupid light, and packs down small. All thumbs up for the product, and especially for the service from Big Agnes. I 'll be back for another if this one ever wears out.

I own the 2019 version and I absolutely love this tent! I got too old for my bivvy and wanted a tent that I could sit up in and with more space. I also wanted something lightweight that could easily fit on either my mountain bike or gravel bike. I put it in my Salsa Anything fork cage with the poles packed inside.( The poles can be packed separately in the included pole sack.) It packs nearly as small as my bivvy and for me, the extra weight is worth the comfort tradeoff. This tent is lightweight, easy to set up, sturdy against wind and rain. It also has lots of convenient storage nets and pockets inside and I love the vestibule space.( I noted `` flimsy construction '' as a con, but that's just the nature of a ultra lightweight tent. I 've used mine a LOT over the last 6 years and it has stood the test of time.)

As a frequent beach goer, I have tried many types of umbrellas/tent for sun protection such as Cool Cabana, Tommy Bahama and Shibumi. By far, Sun Ninja is the best product to date. Between the consistent sun coverage, UV protection and height of the poles, it is a no brainer purchase. The setup and takedown of the Ninja is extremely simple, as well as the compact storage provided. Even on windy days, we have not had issues with this umbrella staying put- as long as you fill the sandbags plus some. The number of complements and requests for links we have received on the beach is more than any product we have used. Hopefully, Sun Ninja comes out with additional beach products to add to our collection!

This tarp is big, well made. It was a bit windy setting up in the mountains. I suggest staking the Footprint down untill you get the tent up. It is larger then the 11 person tent so you have to fold in the sides to stake the tent down. You can use the extra length at the front of the tent for taking your shoes off prior to entering the tent, or for a doormat placement.
