5 Brigit
Really enjoy these snowshoes... excellent traction, good on steeper slopes, icy surfaces, bright colour. They have stood up very well.

5 Tgh97531
Purchased the 30 '' '' models last year after stove piping on a rental pair of 25 '' '' models and ending up to my neck in snow. They provide enough flotation in deep snow, great traction going up and down steep ice crusted trails and are narrow for easy shoeing on narrow tracks.

5 Figment
Bought these as soon as they came out because I saw a prototype at the Banff Mt. Film Festival last year and have coveted them ever since. I LOVE them! Had a pair of Lightning Ascents before, but hated the 3- strap bindings-- hard to get on and off, did n't stay on. The ratchets are perfect. They never come off in use-- but are easy to put on and take off when I want to. Only problem I had was during wet borderline freezing conditions, one ratchet buckle froze up-- but easy enough to wiggle around and get it working again. These have become my go- to snowshoes-- and I have many pairs of other styles.

5 Sweedish F.
Seriously one well built snowshoe system. Lightweight but the frame is a beast. The decking and bindings, use and time will tell, but both appear solid. The revised HyperLink Binding is the primary reason I chose this shoe. Ease of entry and how well they hold to my boot is outstanding. But the most significant improvement over my old shoes is the entire binding `` '' tracks '' ''; there is little lateral movement, making them so much more comfortable and efficient. The 360 Traction Frame is grippy as you could possibly need. But it also allows for a more even foot placement on packed and uneven trails. Tube frames lay on the contour of the crunchy stuff while the Traction Frame cuts through and sets more evenly. It's kind of a big deal. 240 pounds with a 30 '' '' shoe. Would not want to go smaller, and there is no need to. Really easy to maneuver. Larger shoes carry so much better in the deep stuff, so I would advocate going larger if you are in doubt. Because there is not much more weight between lengths and maneuverability is not compromised.

5 Davidlkay
Very lightweight. Bindings are easy to get in/out of and adjust to size.

Unbeatable traction and extremely lightweight. It almost feels like there's nothing on your feet.

5 Eugene
These rock. Did a long 7 hour hike, lots of steep icey grades, mixed snow, work better than expected. I would highly recommend this product.

5
I bought the lightning accents for work and pleasure uses. I love how quiet they are compared to hard plastic shoes. The bindings keep my foot secure and the heel bar is much appreciated when going up steep grades.

5 Snow C.
I snowshoe every weeknd all around Quebec, HighPeaks in Adirondaks and White mountains

5
I have taken these snowshoes out on 2 trips. One was 2 1/2 hours and the other was 3 1/2 hours. They performed great and would recommend these to anyone who is active in the winter outdoors! The one issue I had and it was n't much, was that the straps kept coming out of the little clips that hold them once you tighten them up. They never came apart, it is just the straps were loose a lot of the time, even though I would re- engage them??

First pair of purchased snowshoes after some excursions with borrowed gear. The traction seems good, the trail had been traveled by others before me, and was hard packed and a little icy. The bindings seem fairly straight forward for the on and off transition. The molded plastic generates more noise than I expected. It may be different when trail breaking. I stepped on the tips a few times causes some small scratches at the inside toe corners of both snowshoes in the plastic material. Spent a couple of hours on the trail and looking forward to getting back out this week.

I bought a pair of the YC Advanced Series for myself back in early December and have been using them a ton since! With all the snow we have been getting in NY they have been the best purchase I have made in a long time. The snowshoes are really easy to slip on and tighten down and really a blast to go out and get some fun exercise in. Overall, they have held up really well to the abuse thus far and continue to impress!

I am 205 pound at 6' pack less but on this trip I did have a hydration pack with some supplies( maybe 10#) The first and only outing for me was a 5 mile out and back along a mountain side road. Along the way the binding/crampon and my boot worked along the pivot axle of the shoe causing my boot to make contact with the decking material. It was easy enough just to kick it back to center while walking. The binding system is easy to adjust and to enter/exit with gloves on. The Crampons worked well in a cold powdery snow, they did n't clog. As for float I ca n't give a true evaluation the snow was n't all that deep except for a few drifts, where they kept me aloft. The shoes seem sturdy and maneuverable as I was able to climb up and over several snow covered logs and walk about the saplings. The poles included with the kit have lever locks for the adjustments which IMO are nicer than twist locks. The poles may not withstand the rigors of my bush whacking hikes but performed well enough for walking along the road. The included storage bag has a section sewn in that is made of mesh allowing for drying, there are shoulder straps as well as a grab handle all nice features. The zippers could be of better quality, I broke one on the second closing. Overall a good value in todays snowshoe market place.

Southern Girl moves to Ohio. One month later, decides to join Peak Snowshoe race in Vermont. Does hours of research on snowshoes.. reviews, videos, social media.. decides to go with 'the Yukons'. Has best time ever! Never put on a pair.. picked the best. I was able to focus on technique and breathing, and NOT the shoe. Seriously.. the shoe is so perfect, its like it's not there. Third day training, met experienced snowshoer.. who was wearing Yukons! Told me I `` got lucky '' with my first pair. March 7th.. I 'll be in Vermont with confidence.. 'cause Yukon Charlie will be with me!

5
I have used my run snowshoes several times this winter( would have been more but snow has been limited) the binding system works very efficiently and stays secure throughout the entire run/hike. The crampons provide excellent traction as the conditions were a combination of powder and icy snow. I ran mostly single track and this model was quick and maneuverable as i made adjustments due to surface and elevation changes. They are very light and reactive to sudden changes in directions.

5
I got these lightweight snowshoes for my kids because they like running in snowshoes, but have borrowed them a few times because they 're so much fun! The shorter length, light weight, and axle system make them easy to walk or run in. The one- pull bindings are easy to use and stay on well. Just make sure the ball of your foot is over the metal plate, secure the heel strap, and you ’ re good to go!

Earlier this winter I rented a set of snowshoes to go with a friend. I enjoyed it so much that I bought these Cascade Mountain Tech shoes from Dick's online. I have been extremely pleased with them and have been out with them 8- 9 times in the past three weeks. Two weeks ago, I took another friend out for his first time and he bought the same ones, also from Dick's online.

After searching high and low for a decent snowshoe, I purchased what seemed to be the only decent pair left in all of New England... drove 100 miles round trip to Dick's to pick them up, sight unseen. I could n't be more pleased with my purchase. Easy entry, easy exit, lightweight and worth every penny. They just need to prove durability and we 're all set. Highly recommend.

I am new to snowshoeing, but had a blast in these Yukons. I was surprised at how easy they were to put on, and they remained secure throughout my 2 mile trek this weekend. I felt very sturdy on the uneven snow too.

5 Unwind
These are great snowshoes. My 11 year old granddaughter watch me once and was able to get in and out after that.

4 Zoomdoggie
I 've only been out on rhese a couple times so far, so I ca n't report on longevity. But I 'm really impressed with the Fast Fit II binding system. I do n't think you could make a binding any easier to enter, exit, or adjust... on the fly! No need to remove your gloves for any procedure. The only gripe is i wish the bingings would open up a bit more. I have some Salomon Tundre- 40 boots, that were designed to work with snowshoes, but even when I open the bindings to their max, I ca n't get the boot in far enough. So I 'm using my Nike hiking boots. That's the ONLY reason I did n't give this a 5- star rating. Other than that, the binding and shoe work together very well, very stable and secure.

[ Some snowshoes are made lightweight but fall apart. Others are solid and heavy. These toe the line between the two; they are the perfect balance of strong and light! I 'm excited for my little to be able to snowshoe this winter and for many more in the future!

[ Perfect for my 7 year old looks durable. She ca n't wait for the next snow storm. It's definitely a youth size. And her snow boots snap right in the only thing I did n't like was that the rubber caps pop right off the pole.

[ These snowshoes are a fantastic deal for the money. Snowshoes can be expensive but these are a way you and the whole family can get out in the winter and have a good time. Very comfortable my son says also!

5 marka22
[ My 7 year old is in love with these snowshoes and trekking poles. We live in the northeast. Our winters are long and we get plenty of snow. These snowshoes make for a safe outdoor activity that is both kid and parent approved. The snowshoes themselves are very sturdy and light weight. There are some sharp metal grips underneath that you have to be careful with, but they will give you excellent traction in icy conditions or going up hills. The straps are large enough to go over snow boots. They ’ re also very easy to take on and off. My 7 year old can do it by himself. The two trekking poles compliment the snowshoes well. The poles are adjustable in length. Two snaps are all you need to adjust and secure the length in place. The poles are light weight as well and provide extra balance, especially for those new to snow shoeing. A convenient carry bag is also included. It ’s plenty large enough to store both snowshoes and trekking poles. It ’s perfect for traveling or just storing them away for the summer. Overall, I ’ m very please with these Sno- Bash youth snowshoes and trekking poles. They ’ re easy for my kids to use and make for a great outdoor winter activity. My kids love them as well as it provides them with a sense of independence and exploration. I would recommend them to others.

Frequently Asked Questions For Performance Snowshoes

When selecting performance snowshoes, consider features such as weight, traction, and binding systems. Lightweight designs enhance agility and reduce fatigue, while aggressive traction patterns provide stability on various terrains. Additionally, adjustable bindings ensure a secure fit, allowing for better control during movement.

Performance snowshoes are designed for a variety of terrains, including packed trails, deep snow, and hilly landscapes. Their construction often includes features that enhance grip and stability, making them ideal for both flat and uneven surfaces. This versatility allows users to explore different environments confidently.

Performance snowshoes typically offer advanced features such as improved traction, lighter materials, and specialized designs for more aggressive use. In contrast, recreational snowshoes are generally heavier and designed for casual walking on flat terrain. The choice between the two depends on your intended use and the conditions you plan to encounter.

Performance snowshoes are often made from lightweight yet durable materials such as aluminum frames and high-density polyethylene decks. These materials provide strength while minimizing weight, which is crucial for maintaining agility in challenging conditions. Additionally, some models may incorporate advanced materials for enhanced performance and longevity.

While performance snowshoes are designed for more experienced users, they can also be suitable for beginners who are willing to invest in quality equipment. The enhanced features can provide a better experience on varied terrains, but it is important for beginners to familiarize themselves with the equipment and conditions before venturing out.

Choosing the right size of performance snowshoes is essential for optimal performance and comfort. Factors to consider include your weight, the type of terrain you will be traversing, and the amount of gear you plan to carry. Generally, larger snowshoes provide better flotation in deep snow, while smaller sizes offer more maneuverability on packed trails.
