[ Coming from a MTB background, we 're lucky enough to be spolit for choice in helmets. While climbing helmets are catching up with technology and we 're starting to see helmets with MIPS and other tech, I would say this helmet is going to save your bacon from a rock or moderate wall impact. Definitely has enough energy absorption foam for a hard impact.

[ Got this for my daughters( 10y and 8y). It's lightweight( lighter than their ABS- shell bike helmets). The band is easy to adjust. There's a notch( unlike the mens' Boreo version) at the back that let's my daughters wear their hair in a pony tail, and the adjustment clips are off to the sides( unlike other brands that use a central dial smack in the middle of their pony tail that catches hair when rotated) and ratchet down to the correct fit as the straps are pulled snug down around their ears and chins. Easy, peasy. Being an adult helmet, there's also plenty of room for growth, which equals years of use. This helmet also has side protection, which give me more peace of mind.

I run a busy rental outfit. Our guests come in all shapes and sizes. The Outfitter Universal is our go to pfd. It fits pretty much all adults the big ones down to the 125 pounders. The 6 adjustable straps are long enabling us to fit the bigger guests and they cinch down to smaller chests( 125 pound). One of the great uses of the 6 adjustable straps is our guest bodies often are not the athletic types. Some are big up top, some big in the middle and some are big down lower. I did n't know they made a grey one!! Sweet I 'll be buying one soon. I love this product. I wear a petzl strato helmet for tree work, and a Stihl Advance for ground work. The strato is a buckled bike style safety helmet and Stihl is a hard hat type helmet. The `` ninja' mask as I call works with both helmets. I also wear it under my baseball hats. This is my favorite winter work accessory. It makes those freezing cold mornings not suck so much. One of the best features is that it quickly dries. I throw mine on my dash and after a ten minute trip to a different job site it's dry and ready to wear again.

[ I 've owned one of these for a year and used several times for glacier travel in the Cascades, including a mountaineering course on Mt. Baker during which I was suspended in a crevasse with this harness for 15 to 20 minutes while others were learning how to haul me out. Despite it being so light, it's actually surprisingly comfortable due to the fairly wide, flat leg loops. It's also very easy to get on and off while wearing crampons or skis, which is essential for an alpine harness.

I have already used it for some tree climbing using a Petzl Zigzag combined with knee and foot ascenders and it did the job admirably for its price point( i. e. [ I have been climbing for 30 years in total and in various iterations of this harness for a long time now. It ticks all of the boxes in terms of function, fit, and durability, and especially price. One of the things that I like most about it are the gear loops. A lot of brands put their loops too low on the harness in my opinion, which causes gear to hang down around your lower leg. I prefer things to sit higher so that everything is tighter to my body when I move. The harness trad climbs and sport climbs equally well. The only downside to it is the weight being a little on the heavy side. I prefer a 32 inch waist in pants and wear a size medium in this harness, which puts me at the bottom end of the fit and allows me to cinch the waist within a cm of all the way down. This puts the gear loops more towards the front. When you look at the size range for a harness, always make sure to consider that the measurement will be smaller than your waist size because you wear it above your hips.

[ I 've had a couple of Petzl SAMA harnesses that each lasted for years. The indoor/gym harness in particular stayed so fresh that people asked if it was a new harness for a couple years after purchase. But it was really the fit( with just a little padding), foolproof elastic leg loops, and bomber durability that brought me back for the 3rd time. The only real differences with the current version is that it looks better than ever. The heather gray is understated and contemporary- it 'll accent your insanely bright puffer or shoes.
