This swim vest is very nice because it is small and lightweight, but still does a great job of assisting young swimmers. ... It did not take long for her to be independent with this float PLUS she had freedom with her arms to really do more work in learning to

I bought this product a year ago. I have used it with my( 2. 5 year old then and) now 3. 5 and my oldest son now 5. The are easy to take on and off. The feature of removing the pads slowly is awesome. My youngest has all the pads in and my oldest has two pass removed now and is learning to swim great. It keeps them a float quickly rising them to the surface if they jump in the water. It does n't shift on them at all when tightened appropriately and also not invasive if they are n't in the water. They do n't mind walking around with it on. I love that they can be independent in the water at this age.

We received this as a birthday gift for my son that just turned 4. Keeps his head above water but also makes him have to use his arms and legs in a swimming manner to move. Within 2 weeks, he was swimming sans float. This is the best gift he got! If you want your child to learn how to swim, this is the float to get!

This should be for kids who are ready to move away from the floats that prop them up. My daughter was nervous when first starting out- sat lower in the water, and she thought she was sinking. It did not take long for her to be independent with this float PLUS she had freedom with her arms to really do more work in learning to swim.

If you are looking for something that completely holds child up and out of the water with no attention from you, then this is not for you. However, if you are looking for something to help your child actually learn to swim on their own, there is literally nothing better- or even close!!! I have been looking for this exact product since last summer, as I used it for my 2 older children and there is nothing even close to as good to teach a child to swim on their own. They are now 16 and 14, and could swim 100% independently at 2 and 3 thanks to this product. Flotation in both front and back, unlike traditional bubbles, but without arm flotation, like the newly popular puddle jumper, which restricts arm movement to correctly `` swim '' properly. Puddle jumpers are great if you want a ton of flotation, but too much if you want to actually teach to swim. But this Swimways `` vest '' allows you to slowly and gradually reduce the amount of flotation by removing 1 pad at a time from the front or back or both. You can control if they are leaning too far forward or back by adjusting the number of pads. By removing 1 or 2 pads at a time, you can reduce the amount of flotation gradually, so your child can get used to less help and having to do more to stay afloat and learn to swim until eventually swimming on their own. Other devices go from 100% flotation to 0- where this goes 100% to 90% to 80% and so on down to an Independent Swimmer!!!!

Bought this for my 3 year old and it is just what I was looking for. It is a bit on the expensive side but it is worth it for the quality. My son wears it on the boat for hours and doesn ’ t fuss with it. Would buy again.

Bought it for my 4 yr old son. He loves the water, but is not a strong swimmer. He wants to be in the water on his own, and this vest helps keep him above water and feel independent.

[ Good life jacket fits the kids well. Just make sure to teach them float in a type II style as this has no collar like the type III. Great price.

[ Bought 2 of these for my 2 y/o and 5 y/o and it fits great on both kids. Took it out to the lake and both the kids flipped the inflatable raft and took a dip in the lake. Worked just as expected and kept the kids floating upright until we could get them back high n dry in the boat. They 're not too bulky either which is a plus but saftey wise give it a A+.
When selecting a PFD for kids, it's important to consider the fit, buoyancy, and comfort. A properly fitting life vest should be snug but not restrictive, allowing for freedom of movement. Additionally, look for features like adjustable straps and lightweight materials to enhance comfort during use.
