I own a Minelab Equinox and bought the Vanquish 340 as a backup detector. I have owned it for a couple months now. The coil size makes it ideal for working school and park play areas. Performance is outstanding and the auto noise cancelling makes it a smooth quiet running detector. Target ID and Depth are right on.

My CTX 3030 causes sore elbows after a couple hours use. This equinox is bringing much relief. It's a great detector as well, and much easier to learn than the CTX. Very pleased with my new machine.

I ’ ve had my 800 for 9 months now, it ’s done nothing but impress me over and over. I was using a Whites V3i and Garrett ’s AT Pro before buying the equinox. I sold off both of those machines with no regrets and now use the equinox as my primary machine and have never done better. The battery life is great, about 13 hours on a charge. It ’s lightning fast recovery and processing speed are where this thing shines. Along with really good depth. I ’ ve took this machine to spots that I hunted heavy with my old machines and found things I missed or couldn ’ t hit with them, same outcome at spots that have been hunted by others before. As of 8- 28- 19 I am up to 71 silver coins, 3 large cents, 54 Indian head pennies, and hundreds of wheat pennies with this machine. If you choose this machine you will not regret it!

Could'nt be more pleased with the NOX 800! Perfect settings right out of the box and too many features to list! BEST all around detector I have ever used! Plus Dick's ran the 20% OFF COUPON which made it the lowest price for a NOX anywhere! This detector is by far the BEST!

I 've owned a few different top end brands of detectors. The Equinox 800 blows me away on it's ease of use, and the ability to find silver in hunted our areas. I recommend this detector whole heatedly!

When choosing a portable metal detector, consider features such as sensitivity, discrimination settings, and depth detection capabilities. Look for detectors that offer adjustable settings to help you filter out unwanted metals. Additionally, consider the weight and design for ease of transport, especially if you plan to use it for extended periods.
Portable metal detectors are ideal for a variety of activities, including treasure hunting, beachcombing, and archaeological digs. They can also be used for locating lost items in parks or backyards. Depending on the model, some detectors may be better suited for specific environments, such as wet sand or rocky terrain.
The materials used in a portable metal detector can impact its durability, weight, and overall performance. Lightweight materials are beneficial for portability, while sturdy construction ensures longevity. Additionally, waterproof or weather-resistant features can enhance usability in various outdoor conditions.
Portable metal detectors can vary widely in price, typically ranging from budget-friendly options to high-end models. Entry-level detectors may start around a hundred dollars, while advanced models with more features can cost several hundred dollars. It's important to assess your needs and budget when selecting the right detector.
Maintaining a portable metal detector is essential for ensuring its longevity and performance. Regularly check and clean the search coil to remove dirt and debris, and store the detector in a dry place to prevent moisture damage. Additionally, replacing batteries as needed and inspecting for any signs of wear can help keep your detector in optimal condition.
